Prologue

One ~ Fynn

Shuffle. Shuffle. I tensed. There was some type of odd ringing noise vibrating the room. Something very warm touched my arm, and I winced.

“S-screw off!” My voice shook, and my body trembled. What an amazing dream. I crept back into my black bed, hoping for warmth.

Something grunted from a shadow, and I snapped my head towards the corner. A barely lit silhouette stood there, towards the widow. Another grunt, and it was gone. Great. Fricking great. I buried my head into my pillow, and hoped it was just a dream.

One ~ Asher

His smell was intoxicating, luring me in. I was with my girlfriend, Mariah, we were on a date at a city club. Of course, she was flirting with some guy. He wasn't even a vampire.

“Hey Mariah imma go get a d-“ his smell caught up to me. Of course, I was on top of the roof. As a vampire you can smell everyone's blood, but his was the most tempting.

“What.” She looked at me with a cold glare, and it wasn't a question, it was a demand.

“A drink, I won't be back.” I returned the glare as she pulled her lips into a perfect ‘o’. I didn't care, I wanted the person with this amazing smell.

The apartment was about three miles into the city, the club was kind of on the outskirts. His breathing was soft, and I couldn't help but lick my lips. My swift movements into a corner made some type of box drop, and he grunted.

His small body picked itself up, crazy hair causing me to chuckle to myself. His eyes drooped, but scanned the room. When he looked in my direction, his heart beat quickened and I could smell his fear (which is an awful stench by the way), making me panicky. Did he see me?? Can he smell me?? I raced towards the window, touching him halfway causing me to pause. His skin was warm and it traveled up my arm, and everywhere. That's what happens when you find your mate, though he probably didn't feel it, it made me excited.

“S-screw off!” His trembling body went back into the blankets, while I ran as quick as I could to my condo.

Two ~ Fynn

My eyes were hazy as I rubbed them, and hit the alarm clock.

“Hnnnph” I groaned, and pulled myself up before realizing what happened late night, hitting me like a wave. I sat back down.

“I don't understand..” I whispered. My eyes flicked to the clock and I bolted towards the door. 6:30. SHEET I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE GONE AT 6:00 WHATS WRONG WITH ME!?

Being late isn't always that great. First, I had to run 6 miles, second I had to get a lecture by my teacher, and worst people would be staring at me. I hate attention.

“Mr. Moon. Please take a seat.” The old hag said, and sat down. Mrs. Kint wasn't that bad, it's just she had a bad vibe. She acted as if she just killed someone, and was heccin awkward. Her stare was just… emotionless. Like she had no soul. I nodded and sat in the furthest seat away from people. I grabbed my sketchbook and began some random doodle.

~ three classes later ~

I walked down the sweat filled hall to Spanish class. We had a new teacher, and from what I've heard he's “hot”. Unfortunately I don't find people that are thirty years older than me hot.

Entering the class, my eyes widened, and I almost dropped my books.

Three ~ Asher

I woke up quite early, heading to the human high school. I shrugged off what had happened the night before as I forgot what he smelled like. The kids were boring, but it was fun talking in Spanish all day. As soon as I walked into homeroom a wave of hormones hit me. I gagged and stepped back, only to see many teen females staring at me in awe. A lot of my classes were like this, until the fourth one. The sweet smell was back, filling my nostrils. My head snapped toward the door, and there he was. Tight jeans, a black twenty one pilots shirt and a red beanie. He paused, the books he had slipping out of his hands. I walked over, now closer than ever and couldn't help smiling.

“¿Necesitas ayuda con tus libros?” he looked at me, stunned.

“I-I'm sorry w-what?”

“Yours books, need help?” He noticed they were slipping, gripped them so hard his knuckles turned white, and shook his head vigorously before looking down and heading to a seat towards the back. Everyone was staring now. I stood, and smoothed my cactus polo. Walking back, I noticed multiple people staring at the boy, with jealousy, hate, etc. I grunted.

“mírame, no seas grosero” I said, everyone staring back at me. I took a sip of my bottled water, the boy making me blush even though he was just there. His sent was amazing.

Continuing, “me encantaría saber tu nombre por favor párate y dime tu nombre, y dos hobbies tuyos.” I said. Everyone still looked at me confused. I huffed.

“Tell me your name and two hobbies. You.” I pointed toward the first girl at the start of the front row. She gladly stood up, making it obvious she had somewhat ‘breasts’.

“Soy Michelle y amo cantar y animar” she fixed her fake curls, and continued.

“And in English,” she giggled. “I'm Michelle, I like singing and cheer!” The last part she jumped, causing the males of the class to look at her chest. Disgusting. This continued, the guys being douches and the girls being basic. Finally I got to the boy.

“Soy Fynn ... y me gusta tocar el ukelele y leer..” he was fidgeting, and was very cute.

“Uh Fynn.. ukulele and books.” He plopped down, and hid his face behind his hands.

“muy bien” I smiled and introduced myself.

“I am Mr. Asher, I have been teaching four years, all in high school. I like sleep. Aha.”

Four ~ Fynn

Spanish class was.. something. Mr. Asher was…. Stunning. He had a cactus polo with a rainbow tie and jeans and some converse. His smile was brilliant and charming. His hair was green, and he would occasionally flick it away with his head. He looked around 20, and acted like it.

When I walked into the class he was staring at me weird. It was like he wanted to tell me something, or hug me. And he even kept looking back at me, smiling, and blushing slightly. I had never seen him in my life.

At the end of class I was the last one, and he raced to close the door. I stared at him patiently.

“Fynn, right?” He smiled, and gestured me toward his desk. I shuffled a few steps and nodded. He opened his mouth, but his phone rang. I sat there awkwardly while he answered it.

“I'm working, Mariah.” He sighed loudly before answering again.

“You don't need me it's not- YES I DID SIGH. WERE DONE IM TIRED OF YOUR SHIT!” The last bit made me jump, and he ended the call, noticing my discomfort.

“Just. I'm sorry, Fynn. Talk to me at lunch please?” His eyes changed from rage to affection quickly, and I blushed and nodded.

He escorted me out and welcomed his new classmates, which were gawking at him. I held a growl back.

Five ~ Asher

He walked into the cafe and I couldn't help but smile. Of course not wide, my pointy canines were extremely obvious even when I talk.

“You uh needed me..?” He grinned, trying to be casual. Though, he was very awkward.

“Come. Sit.” I pointed at the seat in front of me.

“Did I get a bad grade? Was I not paying attention? I'm sorry I'll make it up.” I could smell the confusion, and it made the sweet aroma go away, so I tried to be as soothing as possible.

“No. I uh..” suddenly I realized I didn't have a clue on what to talk about. Fortunately Michelle came up and slid herself in the seat next to me.

“Hey, hueheuheuheuehehe.. want my number.. huahuahau?”

“I am decades older than you, I'd rather not.” And
