I slowly turn the key in my lock not trying to wake my mother up.As soon as i step foot into the house I smell something burning.I quickly dropped my bag by the door and ran to the kitchen, Before i can even get there i pass the table and i see it the thing i hate the most."Mom stop it please when will you stop you said you will quit"I yell. My mom is high so she pays me no attention and just injects herself with another needle.I think to myself,"Stop wasting your time" Then i walk to the kitchen and cut off the pot of burning rice,"Chris come here" My mom whispers but i ignore her and go to my room and slam the door shut.I fall backwards onto my bed and pull my phone out my pocket i have three missed calls from Melanie, Normally that would make me happy but not after what happened.

 I wake up the next morning and whisper to myself,"Im ready I Chris Robinson is ready to tell Melanie Waters that i am in love with her".
