Summer
I ran down the long never-ending path of darkness. Peering behind me, I couldnât help but sense that someone, no, something was chasing me as the unknown creature closed in on me. And I knew it was adamant to catch me. The flutter of wings caught my attention, as I stepped toward a gaping hole. Summer, summer, I heard it call in an almost shout and as it did I jumped in forgetting the consequences it might bring.
I awoke screaming, my mouth agape. âGood, your awake then Miss. Hays, glad you could join us although I would appreciate it if you could keep the level down in my classroomâ My English teacher Mr. Evans exclaimed as I jolt to life. The whole class burst into laughter at my misfortune, whilst my face turned a rather crimson colour.â Umm-uh-well-I-uhâ I stuttered struggling for words but I was luckily saved by my teacher. âNever mind but next lesson I expect you to participate for the whole lesson, and that involves staying awakeâ he demanded as he set a text book on the table before me. â Oh, and by the way your homework is on page 98 and I expect to see it tomorrow morning before Am registration seeing as you think it is acceptable to hand your homework in lateâ He added reminding me of the 2 page writing I was meant to hand in at the beginning of the lesson. Looking at the back of the classroom, bringing eye contact with Pac my boyfriend, the most mysterious and intelligent guy in class, just sniggered at me. I was on my own with this one.
Sitting around wasnât going to get me anywhere with this homework but Pac had promised to call with some tips, although I hadnât heard from him all day since that class stunt. Just as I had decided to walk away from the phone and start my homework, the phone started to ring. I launched toward the receiver and wrapped my hands around it, as if I was some sort of wild animal. âPac, finally it took you long enough li-âI answered but I was interrupted in the middle. âStay away from Pac, Heâs dangerous, stay away, you will stay awayâ a deep voice ordered from the other end of the phone. âWait wha-ââStay away or elseâ the deep voice of a stranger warned. The phone went dead. That was the night that summer would always regret.
Pac
As summer talked I couldnât help but wonder who this mystery caller was but I was adamant that I would find out. After all anything that bothered summer, bothered me, and today she seemed very distracted as she explained the events of the night before. âIâm telling you, there was this deep voiced guy who was like âstay away from Pac heâs dangerousâ and then hung upâ she insisted and by the look she had on her face, she wasnât going to give up until I said that I believed her. It wasnât that I didnât believe her , I 100 per cent believed her it was just that I was scared that if I did admit that I believed her, My past would come back and haunt me, and I wasnât ready for that just yet. âI need to make an appearance at math and when I say I, I mean weâ I exclaimed and dragged a surprised looking summer towards the next classroom we were assigned to. If only summer knew he thought to himself.
Summer
When I saw Pac at the doorstep, I knew something was different about him. He looked run down, as if he hadnât had any sleep for days. The look on his face gave him away. All of the worst possibilities ran through my head, until I remembered Monday nightâs phone call. âcome inâ I requested.
Pac
I didnât know what I was exactly going to say, I just knew I had to say it. And I had to think fast, as summer held the door open for me, with a confused look spread on her face. A voice in my head urged me to tell, confess all. My pulse raced. Taking a step inside, I looked around taking in the glamorous, well organised surroundings of the Hays household. As I reached the dining room, my head began to spin and my stomach dropped. âSo?â Summer began shaking, with the cold I guessed. âSo what?â I replied in a harsh tone, forgetting the reason that I had come here. âWhat?!You come to my house at 1:00 am and all you can say is so what? What has gotten into you recently, you are always so distant with me. Is there something you need to tell me Pac? Because I am all earsâ summer raged. So summer had noticed, even if I had tried to hide it. The longer I stayed quiet, the angrier she grew until she reached boiling point. Summer blinked at me with a puzzled look on her face. âLeaveâ she whispered. âBut sumâ Leaveâ she ordered getting louder. âLeave now!â she screamed this time, tears filling her eyes.â I am fed up of you lying to me, Canât you tell me the truth it is killing me just donât come back until you can tell me the truthâ she cried. Pulling her into an embrace I stroked her head, knowing what I had to do next. âYou should sit downâ I suggested. I started to begin to feel uneasy as she ran her fingers down my back circling her hand in one particular area. âPac, what is this on your back? They feel like slitsâ she stuttered backing away. Looking at my watch I announced âoh, is that the time better be offâ and ran out the door and jumped into my shiny black car before summer had a chance to call after me.
as I paced back and forth in my room, thoughts ran through my head not knowing the solution to my problem. Sooner or later it would all spill but I wasnât ready for it just yet.
Summer
âStay away from Pac, He is not safeâ The deep voice repeated over the phone, sending a shiver down summerâs spine. âPlease, Just stop, stop calling me, leave me alone, pleaseâ I begged. âStay away from Pac he is dangerousâ the stranger chorused and continued to repeat itself until I hung up. I had to face Pac tomorrow; how I didnât know but one thing I did know was that I wasnât going to give in to him that easily. And he was in trouble when I next got my hands on him. How dare he run out on me like that, as well as thinking that he would get away with it. Well he was wrong, I wouldnât leave this alone without an explanation, no matter what it took.
Pac
I was shaking as summer strode towards me, with a serious look on her face.
Summer
At first I thought Pac was in love with another girl after all I wasnât the first girl he had ever liked before when we became a couple. Another possibility I had considered was that he had been involved in crime in the past but that had been another incorrect accusation. The day I had walked up to him and demanded to know what had got into him he had 45replied with âa fallen angelâ not able to bring eye contact with me. âWhat do you mean by that?â I had stuttered worried about what would come next. Surely he was joking, did Angels really exist after all? I didnât believe it at the time. âSummer you have got to listen okay, when I tell you this I need you to listen to me. I am not normal; In fact I am not even human. I am an angel, well a fallen one that is but those phone calls you keep receiving, they are from someone like me but just a bad kind. I am not the bad kindâ He had assured me but I wasnât yet convinced. âThe slits in your back, why are they there?â I had questioned scared of what his reply might be. âWingsâ Heâd claimed unfazed.
Pac
She was staring at me in disbelief. I was sure that she didnât believe me but I had to convince her. âWingsâ I claimed without thinking, but I guess I would have to think about that later. There was a long moment of silence before summer said anything. âBut why didnât you tell me any of this before, you would have told me I am sure of it. You are making this up and just to make me look stupid. We are done Pacâ She declared and I watched her run away until I couldnât see her anymore.
That night I cried myself to sleep trying to wish all my fears away which appeared impossible. Summer would believe me and she would love me. I hadnât given up my life in the sky for nothing. I just had to prove myself. I loved her too much to just let her walk away without a fight. I just needed a plan and I was set. First I needed to convince myself that she loved me.
Summer
The next few weeks went by quickly, with me receiving many apologies from Pac begging for another chance. He knew he wouldnât get one so why was he trying so hard for something that didnât exist. I was almost over him my mates had said, telling me that I was almost through with the âBreak upâ stages but deep down I knew I was far off it. The only reason I was throwing insults in Pacâs way was because I was hurt and still desperately in love. I had been set up on endless dates by my mates, like Jake nice the most popular guy in our year, Daniel may the kindest guy that ever existed and the smartest guy in our year, Leo Williams but there was one thing wrong with all of them. They werenât Pac. That was until new boy Cole Evans came on to the scene. He was just like Pac, Mysterious and Daring. Everything about him was alluring and I couldnât help but stare at him. I missed Pac though and this might be what I needed to help me get over him even if it wasnât right. He was the ultimate Break up help.
Pac
Jealousy overtook me as I watched Summer Drawl over Cole Evans the new boy. Although he wasnât exactly new to me. Cole was a fallen angel, just like me with one exception. He wasnât here for good reasons and he was out to get me, but he had stepped over the line. Summer didnât know what she was getting herself into. I saw summer stand up and walk in Coleâs direction. Cole used to be good, we used to be a team however that all changed when he took a sudden turn and now he was messing with me. Rage took over the jealousy. I will get you back Cole Evans, yes I will I promised myself.

âsummer, Your date is hereâ Mum called up the stairs. As I finished applying my final touch of lip-gloss, I smiled into the mirror. Perfect, I thought to myself. âComing mum, be right thereâ I shouted back, straightening my clothes as I stood up. I ran down the stairs and glanced around, my eyes meeting Coleâs. âSh-Should we go then Cole?â I asked flashing
