Lauren:"Melanie it's time for you to prepare breakfast!"
Melanie:"I hear you Lauren calm down, i'll be there in a minute."

Melanie gets dressed and runs for the door.She has to make breakfast before Lauren,her step mom makes her late for school,AGAIN!She sets the table quikly and prepares pancakes for the entire family,except her step dad,Miguel.In spite loving Melanie, Miguel couldn't handle his wife's attitude towards Melanie.He would always leave on "buisness trips" which all of them in the family knew that,that wasnt true.Poor Melanie being only 15 years old she would have to be stuck in that mad house for atleast 4 more years.

Lauren:"Melanie these pancakes are too hot,blow on them NOW!How do you dare serve me something that isn't eatable until i'm fifty!"
Melanie:"Thank god there is only a year ti'll that happens" melanie giggles.
Lauren:"E-excuse,but i'm only 29 and ill appreciate it if you don't smart mouth me alright and if you don't stop then i'll be forced to take away that precious guitar of yours"
Melanie:"I'll stop!Just please don't take my guitar from me please I beg you... y-you know it's the only memory of my birth father..." a tear escapes from Melanie's sweet blue eyes.
Lauren:"Wipe your face,your already ugly as you are,haha no need to add more flaws to your face."smirks because she's pleased that she deeply hurt Melanie.
Melanie:"gotta go to school guys see you guys later." runs away in tears.

Melanie really was hurt when her parents left and singing and playing her guitar was the only way that she could escape from all her problems.She could never,ever sing for her best friend,Melinda or anyone else because she was very scared of the criticism that she would receive back from them.When she was alone it was only her guitar and her voice, nothing else was ever important.Melanie was walking into Middle Town High School when some hockey playing jerks bumped into her.She dropped her song sheets all over the floor and quickly she attempted to pick up every last song sheet.All the hockey players left but one.

hockey player:"Hey... i'm really sorry for bumping into you,it was only that we were celebrating that we won the championships you know." gives Melanie a wink and a smirk.
Melanie:"You should have just left,I could have picked this up all myself okay I don't need a "HOCKEY STAR" to assist me" quickly walks away insulted.
Hockey Player:"Wait I didn't even tell you my name..." disappointed he sighs and walks his way to class.

While Derek was walking to his class he couldn't stop thinking about that beautiful brown haired girl he had bumped into in the hallway.Derek didn't know what he had did wrong.Maybe it was that I was acting too cocky and self-sufficient.He was killing himself thinking about all the things that he had done wrong.The only thing that didn't come to mind was that maybe Melanie didn't want to talk to him because he was one of Samuel,her step brother's friend.Derek leaves his thoughts for later because he has to focus on his class but what he didn't know was that the girl he had bumped into was just transferring into new classes because her classes were not challenging enough.That girl and Derek were going to have to see each other more often that they thought.Melanie walks into er new class and Derek is astonished and glad that shes going to be in his class.He finally get to hear her name.

English Teacher:"Class I would like to introduce your new classmate.."turns to Melanie and says,"please introduce yourself to the class."
Melanie:"Well my name is Melanie Mason and i'm not new to the school i'm just transferring classes
English Teacher:"Melanie would you mind answering some question?"
Melanie:"I wouldn't mind." turns to the class.
English Teacher:"Okay whose first....ahh seems we have a question from Katie"
Katie:"Wait so are you related to Samuel Mason the hockey star of our school?"
Melanie:"Umm yes i am related to him.He is my step brother." everyone in the class is surprised because no one knew that Sam had a sister?
Mike:"Melanie are you single!??" smirks to all his classmates and everyone starts to laugh.
Melanie:turns to Mr.Lee and asks,"Do I have to answer that?"
Mr.Lee:"No,of course you don't.Just go ahead and take a seat next to Derek,oh and don't worry hes a nice guy."

Derek blanked out all the questions except for the one about her being single.He was bummed that she didn't answer the questions.Thought he was ecstatic about Melanie sitting next to him in class.Also he was glad that he knew her name now and she wasn't just the girl he had bumped into in the hallway.At first Derek was nervous about talking to her but then he got the courage to tap her shoulder and say....

Derek:"Hey remember me??"
Melanie:"How could I not,your the jerk who bumped into me in the hallway and made all my music sheets fall all over the place.!"glares and turns away.
Derek:"I kinda said i w-was sorry about that Melanie,ooh and it's nice to finally know your name.."smiles at her.
Melanie:"Yeah well that doesnt mean that i forgive you now does it? Oh and I really care if yoou know my name.Oh and I need you to do me a favor."
Derek:He smirks and looks straight into her eyes and says,"anything"
Melanie:"Oh im happy you said that,well I know your probably know my step brother Sam since both of you play in the same team,well I need you to not mention me to him at all okay."
Derek:"Why not I gotta tell someone that I want to get to know you better and hang out"turns to her and gives her a wink.
Melanie:"Is there something wrong with your eye because it just keeps twitching and if you think it is attractive let me tell you its not.By the way just tell me if you not going to do me the favor so I can know"
Derek:"I'll do it on one condition"smiles at Melanie.
Melanie:"..Whats your condition"
Derek:"You go out with me for an ice cream sundae,i really want to get to know you."
Melanie:"Fine but not one word to Sam,get it!."glares at him.
Derek:"Alright my lips are sealed"
Melanie:"Oh and another thing,this is not a date alright."
Derek:"this is soo a date hahaha" smirks.
Melanie:"no its not okay,when though?"
Derek:"how bout today after school?"
Melanie:"Can't gotta go to work"
Derek:"where do you work?,and what time does your shift end?"
Melanie:"Just pick me up at my house at eight oh and don't honk just text me here ill give you my number"
Derek:"oh okay alright!"

Derek was so excited that he had finally scored a date with the hottest girl he had ever liked.Even though she said that it wasnt a date he liked to think it was because he liked the way she wasnt an easy girl.
