It was the first day back at Jackson High School. And I’m not your normal teenage girl, I had no friends only acquaintances. I guess you could say I’m pretty but not like other girls. I have dark brown hair, dark brown eyes and a figure some girls would kill for, why am I not popular? you may be asking. I could be popular if I wanted to be but the thing is I don’t care

about popularity. I had a best friend Sophomore year but that all changed over the summer. Me and Kate used to be best friends, we had been friends since kindergarten. We did everything together until Kate became one of the “Pops” short for popular. Kate left me in the dust. Now when we see each other Kate looks away. Today my dad is driving me to school because I didn’t pass the test to get my permit. When we pulled into the parking lot of the school I spotted Kate I tried to look away because I new I could never be one of the “Pops” so that meant Kate and I couldn’t ever be friends again.

Dad: “Have a good day honey”.

Me: “Bye dad.” I mumbled as I got out of the car.

I walked up the stairs of the school, I had been going to this school for a year but for some reason it felt different. I walked up to the front doors of the school, she opened them and walked through them. I went straight up stairs to go to Chemistry. When I found the class room I walked in and there was only a couple of people in the class. ‘Dang it I’m early’

. But just as I went to sit down in the back of the class people started to file in. Then the bell rang. I was reading a book when I saw the chair next to her move she looked up to find my nemesis since kindergarten sitting there.

Me: “Why are you sitting next to me?” I asked in a harsh tone

Him: “ I want to be lab partners with someone I know.”

Me: “You know everybody. You’re the most popular guy in school. So what do you really want Jack?”

Jack: “I told you I want to be your partner.”

Me: “Uh-huh.”

Jack: “ Yeah. Now be quiet I’m learning here.” he said in a sarcastic voice

Today in class all we talked about was the rules. Rules, Rules, Rules. Today was even more boring than freshman year. First period seemed to drag on forever. Today was the first day back to school and I already hate my Chemistry teachers voice. FINALLY

the bell rang and when I was packing my stuff and turned around Jack was waiting for me. I just walked right past him but he followed me.

Me: “Why do you insist on torturing me everyday. Does it bring you joy?”

Jack: “Actually it does.” he said with a smirk on his face

Me: Well…then you won’t mind me calling you a jackass.”

Jack : “As a matter of fact I do.”

Me: “Well I don’t care.”

And I walked away. The rest of the day went by really fast. I was really bothered because Jack was in 90% of my classes the only two he wasn’t in was gym and Spanish. He wasn’t in gym because it is an all girl gym class and he wasn’t in Spanish because he took it last year. So yeah you could say it was a pretty bad day having Jack with me in every class. I couldn’t wait for sixth period because after that class I get to go home.
When I walked into Geometry I went straight to the back of the class because one seat had already been taken so that meant Jack couldn’t sit next to me. I looked up as Jack walked in the door. He came over to my table and looked at me. Then he looked at the girl next to me. I was instantly horrified because I knew what he was going to do.

Jack: “ Hey can I sit here? I just want to sit with my friend.” he said politely to the girl

Girl: “Uh… yeah.” she picked up all her things and got up

Me: “You are such a jerk.”

Jack: “You know you want me to sit with you.” he said in a teasing tone

Me: “You wish.”

Then I looked up at him and there was an emotion hidden in his green eyes. I looked away quickly before he could see me blush. It was something about the emotion in his eyes that made me blush.
Just then the teacher came in with a T.V.

Mr. Varner: “Okay class were going to be watching a movie on the Industrial revolution.”

Everybody groaned

When Mr. Varner started the movie I heard Jack’s chair move closer to me so I moved over so we were apart again. He just moved his chair again, and I moved my chair until it couldn’t go any further. He slid his chair next to mine as I groaned in defeat. I looked up at him and he was staring at me while smiling. He looked even more beautiful in the dark. I looked away quickly. Then he did something I didn’t expect, he put his hand on my thigh as leaned over to whisper something in my ear. I was so shocked I couldn’t move.

Jack: “You want to play the nervous game?”

I was already nervous so I guess I lost the game.

Me: “No.” I said removing his hand from my leg

Jack: “Why?” he said putting his hand on my thigh again but higher

Me: “ Because I said no.” removing his hand once again

He just put it back ,but higher than before. I just kept moving his hand and he just kept putting it back, higher and higher.

Me: “Okay if I play will you leave me alone?”

Jack: “Yes.”

Me: “Whatever.”

He put his had back on my leg and slid it up higher

Jack: “Are you nervous yet?” he asked in a seductive voice

Me: “No.” how can I be nervous he’s done it already.

Jack: “Okay your turn.” he said as he removed his hand from my thigh.

I put my hand on his leg.

Me: “Are you nervous?” I asked in a bored voice

Jack: “ No. Okay my turn.” he said smiling.

I moved my hand as he put his hand on my waist right above my jeans.

Jack: “Nervous?”

Me: “Uhhh… no.”

Jack: “Liar.”

Me: “Am not.”

I pushed his hand away but he put it back.

Jack: “Were not finished with the game. Your turn.”

Me: “No.”

Jack: “Yes.”

Me: “No.”

Jack: “Yes”

Me: “No.”

Jack: “Yes.”

Me: “FINE.” I said in a loud whisper

I put my hand on his thigh but it was really high this time. He squirmed a little.

Me: “I win. You got nervous.”

Jack: “It’s my turn. You didn’t win anything.”

Me: “Suuure I didn’t.”

He put his hand on my butt. Just then Mr. Varner turned on the lights and Jack pulled his hand away.
The bell rang and finally I can go home. Jack was staring at me and we were the last people in the class.

Jack: “You sure know how to play the nervous game.”

Me: “Yup.”

He smiled a condescending smile and then I walked off. But of course

he caught up to me. He followed me all the way to the parking lot.

Jack: “Want a ride home? Or a ride to my house? he added. "We‘ll have lot of fun.” he said in a taunting yet seductive voice.

Me: “Neither.”

Jack: “ Come on you live like three miles away. Let me give you a ride.”

Me: “No”

Jack grabbed me by the sweater and towed me to his car. He opened the passenger side door and waited for me to get in.

Me: “I’m not getting in.” I said stubbornly

Jack: “Yes you are.” he said confidently

Me: “No I’m not.”

He came closer to me and picked me up and put me in the car. He buckled my seat belt and went to the driver’s side. When he got in I was trying to undo the seat belt but I couldn’t because he had a Jeep so that meant the car had off-road harnesses he smiled to himself because of how much trouble I was having trying to take off the seat belt finally I just gave up and sat back glaring at him . He started the car and pulled out of the parking lot.

Jack: “So where do you want to go?”

Me: “Home.”

Jack: “Really?”

Me: “Yes, Really”

Jack: “Well I don’t think you do, lets go to the lake.”

Me: “Lets not and say we did.”

Jack: “You know I don’t like to lie.”

Me: “Oh, sure.”

He started driving to the lake but I said

Me: “Your serious? take me home.”

Jack: “Oh I’m dead serious and no.”

Me: “Turn around.”

Jack: “No.”

Me: “Yes.”

Jack: “Nope. And there’s really no point in arguing further I’m not turning around and that’s the end of it.”

Me: “You know this is kidnapping.”

Jack: “But you went willingly.” he said with a mocking smile

Just then we pulled into the parking lot of the lake. ‘I can’t believe him!’

He pulled into a parking space and got out he came around to my side of the car opened the door and started undoing my seat belt. I watch intently and when he was done he looked up our faces were inches apart. He leaned in and kissed me but the crazy thing is; I kissed him back. I put my hands behind his neck and grabbed fistfuls of his beautiful blonde hair and pulled him into the car ,we kissed for a few more seconds before I pushed him away. He looked up bewildered. His eyes were full of shock, excitement and anger. Probably because I stopped the kiss. But hey I did what I had to do.

Me: “What the…?” I couldn’t even think of an explanation for what just happened.

Jack just stared at me with the same expressions in his eyes but now it was mostly shock and anger.

Jack: “Why did you stop?”

Me: “Why? Because.”

Jack: “Because why? That kiss was the best kiss I have EVER

had.” he said loudly

Me: “Shut up.” I said but I was secretly glad.

Jack: “Want to do it again?”

Me: “ NO! It shouldn’t have happened at all.”

Jack: “Please?“

Me: “No.“

Jack: "Come on it was fun."

Me: "I said no."

Jack: “Okay lets go for a walk.” he said in a bummed voice

I got out of the car and we walked up to the trail. We followed the trail not talking at all. Then he broke the silence saying
