I wake up coughing. There is a gasy smell filling the air. I cough. Smoke began filling up in my room. " Vicky! Run! A fire!" Vicky got out of bed and ran out the door. She safley but none of her parents were there or her sibblings. " Matthew! Abby! Run! Out of the house!" Vicky heard her mom scream with terror. They were still in the house

Vicky thought.
" Mommy! I'm stuck!" Abby wailed. " Abby!" Vicky heard Matthew shout. Vicky became dizzy and her throat was hoarse from the smoke. " Abby!" Vicky croaked. Sirens were began to get louder. "Matthew!" Vicky croaked again. The sirens were getting louder now. Vicky's head was now spinning heavily, but she stayed strong. She was about to bolt up into her house when a strong pair of arms stopped her. Vicky's eyes were extremley heavy. Then her eyes closed hearing screaming. " Abby.." Vicky moaned.

Vicky eyes fluttered open. A young doctor was standing in front of her. " Ah, Miss Victoria..."
the doctor said, noticing that she had awakened. " I'm Dr. Rix. How are you feeling Miss Victria?" Dr. Rix asked. " It's Vicky and don't call me 'Miss'! But, I'm fine thank you very much!" Vicky growled. " Quite an additude. Well.." " Where are my parents?" Vicky asked. " Vicky,
answer my next question," Dr. Rix said sternly. Then Vick knew the answer. " Where is Abby? Matthew? How about my parents?" Vicky asked, raising her voice. Dr. Ray sighed. " I'm sorry, but they are all dead," Dr. Rix said. Vicky held back her tears. " Then who will I live with?" Vicky asked. " We have contacted your uncle. Ray is the name," Dr. Rix said. " What?! You can't make me go with him! No way! I will not go with! Never ever!" Vicky screamed. Vicky was about to screammore when hers began to get heavy.

" Uncle Ray is back!" he said, walking through the door. " Uncle Ray! Abby shouted, running into his arms. Matthew walked up to Uncle Ray and gave him a high five. " 'Sup Ray!" Matthew said. I watched behind the curtains. I had never met Uncle Ray before because I was always on vacaiton with her friends. Vicky stepped out of the curtain and introduced herself. " Hi, I'm Vicky," I said. " Never seen you before," Uncle Ray said. " Because I was never home," Vicky said. Uncle Ray observed Vicky closely. His eyes were stormy black. He was frowning. " Does he like me? Vicky thought. " Well, nice to meet you Vicky," Uncle Ray said. The next day, everyone was going shopping except Vicky and Uncle Ray. Uncle Ray wanted to spend quality time with Vicky. " I have gift for you," Uncle Ray had said. But he tricked her. Instead he locked her in the basement. She cried for a long time, until everyone else came home. Her parents and Abby didn't believe her when she told them that she locked her up. " He did it! He locked me up!" Vicky screamed. " Don't be silly Vicky girl. Uncle Ray would never do that," her dad said, laughing. But Matthew believed her. He knew Uncle Ray was different. Since then, Matthew never left Vicky alone... until he had to travel for a soccer tournament. She was left alone with Uncle Ray again.

Vicky screamed herself awake. Nurses and doctors came rushing in. " I can't go with... with Uncle Ray! No!" Vicky screamed. " I'm sorry, but he is already here," a nurse said. Then a man with a beard came in. " How is my Vicky?" It was Uncle Ray! " AHHHH! Matthew! Matthew!" Vicky screamed, but she knew Matthew was gone. " Can I have a private time with her?" Uncle Ray asked the doctors and nurses. They nodded and left. " Vicky, what was that for?" he asked. Vicky stared at him viciously. " You know what you did," she growled. " Still.. you're going to have to live with me now," Uncle Ray said. " Why?" " DON'T YOU GET IT?! YOU'RE PARENTS ARE DEAD AND SO IS YOUR WHOLE FAMILY! YOU HAVE TO LIVE WITH ME NOW!" Uncle Ray shouted. " No, I hate you," Vicky growled. " Then where will you live?" " I can manage." Uncle Ray smiled. " We'll see about that," Uncle Ray said, grabbing Vicky. Matthew! Help me!

Vicky thought.

Vicky woke up in a soft warm bed. Was she back home with her family? No, she was still with Uncle Ray. "Victoria! Are you awake?" Uncle Ray asked from the kitchen. "It's Vicky and I will sleep for as long as I want!" Vicky replied, bitterly. "Now, now. We use nice language in this house and I will call you whatever I want," Uncle Ray said, mocking Vicky's bitter voice. "Now, get up. Breakfast is ready." Vicky frowned. What if he put food poisoning?

" I didn't put food poisoning in your pancakes," Uncle Ray said, reading Vicky's mind.
