Summer Nights 2010 by Regan Corder (primary phonics TXT) 📖

The sun falls behind the trees ending the day that we spent together. Now the memories will start another chapter after dark. The laughing will slowly come to an end as you reach for my hand. Your touch sends a chill through my body. You take my small hand and hold it with your strong but gentle hands.
The campfire pops and cracks behind us but we are not distracted. We stare into each others' eyes and just smile. A silent conversation coming from within. No words are needed.
We both get up from our seats and begin to walk away from the group around the campfire. Still walking hand in hand, you look at me. Your gaze washing over my body and making me feel wanted and loved. Then you pull me close to your body. I can feel the firmness of your body but yet, I can still feel the softness in your touch.
The moon shines in the sky now reflecting off my eyes. You gently move the piece of hair from my face and trail your hands down my cheek.
"You are so beautiful," you whisper.
I can't help but to smile, my girlish senses overtaking my actions. Then you bring me closer and I rest my head against your chest while you rest yours on mine. The perfect height.
The only sounds are crickets chirping in the background and your heartbeat. Your chest moves up and down from your breath as your heart beats against your chest. The melodic sounds that I love to hear.
Minutes later, you reach for my face and slowly turn me to face you. Then you kiss me tenderly and I feel safe and loved. Who would have known I would have fallen in love with my best friend?
