It seemed Mr. Samarat was hurt seriously. It was exactly at the stroke of 0200 hrs he left me and my son; and left my bungalow quite ashamed rather rashly in his car.
In fact, I really felt bad of my behaviour at the spur of the movement, as my basic instinct reminded me that what I did was not at all correct; and it was quite unbecoming of an Indian house wife to remove the bindi from forehead and wedlock from the neck when her husband was alive.
With so many wavering thoughts, I couldnât get sleep; and at the stroke of 0300hrs I received a call.
I never felt bad to be disturbed as I was not sleeping. It was a call from the traffic cops and their information was that Mr. Samarat met with a head on collusion with a lorry, when he was driving his car towards international airport and died instantaneously on the spot.
âRosaline, Rosalineâ I could hear my dad tapping the door hurriedly.
She was seen writing her diary without any feelings and emotions.
âDo you have information about the accident?â Mr. Richards asked her in suspicion whether she knew it or not.
"I am already informed not by the cops but also by the owner cum driver of the lorry"
âThen please donât brainstorm yourself now my child. We will see the dead body in the mortuary tomorrow, and from there I will make all arrangements to take the dead body direct to cremationâ My father came to my room and informed me.
He appeared to me as robot rather a human being with a heart and soul. The great tragedy never pinched him at all. No wonder if the world might look down him as he was one and the only father who never bothered about his only daughter becoming a widow, which information he took it as routine news.
Chapter: 15
It was the bed room of Mr. Richard. He was alone and awfully drunk. Now he was feeling sorry for the state of affairs prevailing in his family.
He couldnât digest the truth that his daughter became a widow. It pinched him a lot and brought him so much pain and agony. He had been suffering within himself as his only daughterâs life was spoiled and there was no hope to bring back her happiness again in this life, because of doâs and undoâs he had been committing at various stages.
And finally he decided and took a diary and started writing in it, ever since the tragic `night, after hearing the death of Mr. Samarat.
Chapter: 16
âWhy do you want to stay here Miss. Jasmine?â A strange question, but a straight question put by Honey.
Any girl who attained puberty, especially when her father was alone in the house as a widower would certainly ask any spinster who wantonly stay in her house during night to clarify her doubt. And Miss. Honey was no exception to it.
âI came on the invitation of your dad; and it is only to attend on you all the five days; and I am here to get you ready with bridal makeup and traditional jewellery for your 5th day functionâ Jasmine replied her politely.
âBut, I strongly suspect that you are fond of my dad; and finally I warn you that I will not accept you in place of my mum; and even for dating with my father also I donât allow you because my father is a celebrity in the society. He is commanding respect both in his department and among the public. You better leave him once for all Jasmineâ She didnât care to place a serious accusation against a lady police officer.
Honey got herself irritated and spoke out and out her rejection towards her stay any more in her bungalow.
âYour presumption is totally wrong Honey. Who told you all this? Can anybody misinterpret our relation? Your dad is a senior cop and I am undergoing practical training under him; and I have got highest respects for him; and my visit to his camp office on and often was only official and nothing personalâ
âSorry Jasmine, please donât underestimate me; and I donât think that I am a minor and innocent. You better not to play games with me Jasmine. I know what for you have come here with bag and baggage in the late night?
I can visualise that what sin you have committed after I have gone to slumbering sleep in last nightâ
âShut up you mad girlâ Mr. Anirudh slaped his daughter.
On hearing heated discussion who just came there heard their conversation, and.
âSir, please donât be emotional and lose your temper. After all she a minor, and her suspicion about our relationship is quite but natural. I will clarify all her doubtsâ She tried to convince him.
âI am sorry Jasmine. I never thought that this girl would behave so indecently and even without caring an IPS probationerâ
âPlease donât get yourself irritated sir. Ranks and hierarchy are only for us and not for our children sir. You please go and take rest and I will handle her sirâ
âItâs okay, but you need not come down or beg her Jasmineâ He then left to his room.
They both remain there.
âPlease do not come to jumping conclusions Honey. What you thought of us is all wrong. The videos I carried contain the crime scenes. In fact we observed the crime scenes minutely in the LED TV and discussing about the cases; and observing the clues in the case to unearth the mystery of the murder of Mr. Peter, who is no other than your class mateâ Jasmine explained her about her previous visit and tried to cajole her.
âSorry, you are lying Jasmine. Please donât try to hide your physical relation with a married person and also the father of a matured girl. And I know that yours is all a concocted story. You are only trying to divert me to escape from your unholy union with my dad. And I donât allow anybody; and even if it were you being an IPS officer to see in the company of my dad and in the place of my mumâ
âShut up you crazy girl. Donât speak a single word against your dad. It is not the fault of your dad and in fact your mum has committed a grave mistake by giving divorce to a very fine officer and a nice gentleman; and the fact is known to the entire world that your dad is pious and God fearing man, governed by morals and ethics.
He was quite unfortunate and he didnât deceive your mum, but in fact it was your mum not only disowned him, but also she discarded you; and later she had been dating with her classmate and former lover; and a business tycoon, as she was very much fond of accumulating money, money and more money, and a billionaire status in the society, but ultimately she proved herself to be a bitch. I am not a woman of that culture. For godâs sake please donât compare me with such unholy woman.
And if your dad really wants to marry or at least wants me for dating, I am ever ready and so also there are so many beautiful damsels roaming about him. But he is not selfish to think about his pleasures, but he is bothered about you and your future.
Even when I spoke to you all the facts in black and blue also; if you still suspect me means I confirm that you are jealous about the spinsters; and suffering from a disease and in medical terminology it is called âhysteriaâ
And if you donât want any women to attend your function, it is okay and now itself I leave your bungalow; and later you will repent for your mistake and misunderstanding me and your dadâ Jasmine got irritated and warned her.
In the meanwhile the housemaid came and informed that she kept everything ready for her fifth day ceremonial bath.
Honey was silent and she had no voice to rise against Jasmine, and further she was thinking seriously about the acquisitions against her mum.
âOkay Honey, now I am going to prepare you for the function and soon after the function is over, I will leave your bungalow and till then you please cooperate with me and you shouldnât lose your temper and hurt your dad anymoreâ Miss. Jasmine warned her ultimately.
Honey thought for a while and then she decided and kept quite.
Chapter: 17
It was 0100hrs. Miss. Honey was alone in her bed room. She looked all around her room at once. The room was packed with a good number of gifts offered by her classmates, the neighbouring women besides the relatives from her fatherâs side.
Honeyâs attention was drawn towards the presentation brought by Mrs. Rosaline, mother of Mr. Rohit. In fact, Mr. Anirudh extended invitation to all the girls of her class and so also mothers of all her classmates as the function is related to females.
She opened the gift pack. It contained a gold chain, a pair of ear rings, two bangles and a ladyâs wrist watch and all are of matching designs.
She wore them at once and observed herself in different angles in the mirror. She was looking beautiful in the bridal makeup, together with the matching garments and jewellery.
âGracious, splendid, marvellousâ She was surprised to hear an unknown voice.
She turned back and found Rohit with a parrot in a cage. She understood, when the parrot again repeated the compliment.
Rohit handed over the parrot along with the cage to her.
âThanks to both of youâ She said in utmost humility.
She hanged the cage to one of the cradle hooks.
âAs it is late in the night, how could you enter our bungalow Rohit?â
âI have come stealthilyâ
âWho has opened the door?â
âI am not a fool to enter through main gate and ask your dad to open the entrance door at these odd hoursâ
âAre you a spider man?â
âNo, to scale over your compound wall, I need not become a spider man. I have simply jumped the wall from rear side as it is not too high and I have entered the bungalow through the kitchen door, which is not closed; perhaps your housemaid forgot to lock it. And as per my promise I have come only to congratulate you personally and present you a giftâ
âYour mum has already given me garments and jewelleries, why again this?â
âThat is all from her side and this one is exclusively a special gift for you and now I am feeling nervous whether you like it or not?â He expressed his doubt.
âThank you and it is simply marvellousâ She was happy to receive it.
He then tried to sit on the cot by her side.
âSorry, not on the cot, but sit on the sofaâ
âWhy so?â
âBecause I am maturedâ
âSo what?â
âI am told to keep myself away from boysâ
âWho told you? Or are you yourself putting the restriction?â
âOf course I am told by Miss. Jasmineâ
âWho is she to advise you, and after all she is an outsider?â He said in irritation.
âNormally I never care her, but it was reputedly told by my relatives. And also I am experiencing so many physiological changes in meâ She said feeling little bit shy.
âBut, I donât find any change in you, expect change of wearing single piece gown to half sariâ
âYou tube light, you donât
