In their preliminary report, the doctors opined that the cause of her death was not snake bite, but a chemical poison found in her intestines and was preserved for forensic test to be conducted at the Central Forensic Lab.
Now it was crucial for the CBI to find out in their investigation whether her death was Suicidal or Homicidal?
Chapter: 23
âI am sorry I never expected that your dad would involve in such a heinous crime Honeyâ Rohit expressed his sympathy to Honey.
âAre you suspecting the bona fides of my dad Rohit?â Honey felt humiliated by his comment on his father.
âSorry, I never mean that, I am just referring the reaction of the public and consequent their misunderstanding your dad. At this stage we should only find fault with Miss. Jasmine for her lose character and unholy alliance and finally coward actâ Rohit finally threw the blame on Miss. Jasmine.
âSorry Rohit why do you belittle women? And even if you corner Miss. Jasmine, it also reflects the character and antecedents of my dad. In fact, if my dad really wants her for dating or for, so also Miss. Jasmine, if she was really interested in my dad, they need not care anybody; and that they would have definitely marriedâ She said in confidence.
âWhy donât you think in another way, perhaps they might have been in datingâ Rohit expressed his doubt.
âNo, my dad would always respect our customs and traditions and he wouldnât go down for dating in cosmopolitan style under ant cost. But I can tell you one thing Rohit, as Jasmine was hardly 28yrs and my dad is 50 plus, almost double her age; and instead of choosing a widower and a father of a matured daughter, she would fall in love with some youngster, who would suit to her in all aspectsâ Honey personified the conduct and character of both her dad and Miss. Jasmine.
âSo you are supporting her. But do you think how the public are thinking and suspecting her conduct and character as she tried to trap your father also?â Rohit questioned her seriously.
âWhy are you so harsh Rohit in using rough words against Jasmine? What do you mean by trapping? Please tell me what did she expect from my dad? Is it money, Status, Position, Love or lust?â She questioned him seriously.
âMay be for allâ Rohit said rather ridiculously.
âI am sorry and I donât understand why do you nourish so much grouse against her Rohit? After all she is a spinster and she may be having her dream boy. And I remember that you might have been offended, as she shouted at you and manhandled you on noticing you in my bed room at odd hoursâ
âNo, not at all Honey, I have only exposed her conduct and character, besides her indecent behaviour, short temper, and instant reaction on seeing us moving closeâ Out and out, he spoke against her.
âThat is all thrash, simply say you donât like herâ She exposed him.
âI am hundred percent doubtful about her conduct and characterâ Rohit was firm on his stand.
âWhat?â
âI do mean that she might be having loose morals, and shared bed with people whom she likedâ
âIt is too much on your part to comment a lady cop of top cadre Rohitâ Honey spoke in support of her.
âOtherwise please tell me with whom she was in dating and conceived?â Rohit expressed his doubt.
âI donât know. But, anyway I feel sorry for you talking ill about Miss. Jasmine who is no more Rohit?â She spoke in sympathy with her death.
âThen go to her cemetery and offer prayers to her, as if she turns to be an angle if not a devil to youâ Rohit became serious.
âHey, why are you becoming so serious man? By the way you are looking cute in angry mood also. With the serious look, the placenta in your face turns to be reddish in complexion, besides your voice has been changed into masculine. Now for me you appear to be attaining maturity and looking like a prince of charming beauty and I am tempted to kiss you; and I am unable to control myself and eager to have a go with you Rohitâ
âShut up, I have never expected that you are also spoiled like Jasmine. When you said that you are tempted to have a kiss and a go with me, I have lost my temper and become emotional and rather provoked to kill you for your thirst for worldly pleasures, rather nasty things like fucking, what the bitches and debauchers stoop down for enjoyment. I am sorry to say that you are spoiled may be because you are habituated to see xxx films and pornography in your lap top and you are tempted to do such things with me. Please stop your activity at least here after. I am warning you finally that expect that from me; and I donât like to have such unholy physical attachment between us. And let us be good friends forever Honeyâ Rohit made up his mind very clear to her.
âSorry Rohit, you canât expect me to remain as bachelor forever; and my dad would never agree for that; and certainly he finds out a suitable bridegroom for me and performs my marriage. And if it is so what would be the plight of our friendship? How can we continue ourselves to be good friends forever Rohit?â
âDonât worry, there would be certainly possible remedies for all the problems and we need not puzzle from now onwards. When time comes we definitely think for a better solution than breaking up ourselves and our friendship, instead of becoming a prey for ugly desires for the time beingâ He suggested her.
âThen itâs okay. When you are that much confident, canât I trust you and repose confidence in yourself?â She said with utmost confidence in him.
âPlease donât disturb meâ
âFor what? So your mind is revolving round my figure isnât it?â She asked him rhetorically.
He looked at her seriously.
âThanks for your hospitality and good night Rohitâ Honey switched of the light in the room and greeted him.
âItâs okay, and good nightâ Rohit said and covered blanket over himself.
Chapter: 24
There started serious agitations from the women forums; human rights activists; women cops to arrest Mr. Anirudh, a senior cop, blaming him to have deceive Jasmine by false promise to marry and made her conceive and finally responsible for her unnatural death.
Added fuel to fire the opposition parties wanted to take up all the issues including the trivial issues seriously. As an IPS lady probationer died right in the head quarters of the chief Minister, the bureaucracy was alarmed; and it showed the failure of the District Special branch, the State intelligence, and the IB, which couldnât predict things before and the intelligence collection was at stake. All the units miserably failed either to fix Mr. Anirudh, or unearth the mystery of her unnatural death.
To counter all the allegations, the Government ordered CBI to take up investigation. The DGP transferred the case from CBCID to CBI.
*******************
Mr. Anirudh had been detained in the police officerâs Mess. He was subjected for interrogation methodically by the CBI officers for three days.
The officers were of the opinion that through him only Miss. Jasmine conceived. But whether it happened with her consent or by any other means or by wood winking her by Mr. Anirudh for dating with a false promise of marrying her; or otherwise when she denied him out and out he might have raped her by taking advantage as she was undergoing practical training; and when conceived, she might have committed suicide; or to hush up their affair, Anirudh might have well planned and got her murdered. They canât get any clue or confession by Mr. Anirudh.
The only evidence on which the CBI had to rely very much was only the DNA test on Miss. Jasmine and her fetus. The blood samples of Mr. Anirudh were taken for test and he was finally released with a condition that he shouldnât leave the city and should be available whenever they want to examine him.
Anirudh drove his car rashly towards the accommodation of Miss. Jasmine where she stayed as guest earlier to her death.
Chapter: 25
It was at the stroke of midnight 0100 hrs, Mrs. Rosaline got down the flight in the Rajeev Gandhi International Air port at Shamshabad. As she did not inform her arrival from the USA either to her PA or to the driver, they didnât turn up to the air port, and she engaged a call taxi to her bungalow.
********************
It was 0100hrs. Mr Anirudh was consuming liquor, peg after peg at his bungalow. Even then he couldnât come out from the pain of humiliation by levelling serious allegations against his conduct and character, while interrogation by the CBI. But, he couldnât understand the mystery behind the death of Miss. Jasmine. In fact, what was bothering him was the puzzle as how could Jasmine conceive? And with whom she was in dating?
But while he was kept under suspension he personally probed into in depths of the family history, brought up, education and subsequent developments in career building up of Miss. Jasmine.
Late Mr. Johnson was her care taker as he brought her home when her parents died in a road accident and when she was taking plus two exams.
Miss. Jasmine was quite intelligent and she got through the examinations in first division and got rank in EMCET. So he got her admitted in Bachelor of engineering. After she passed Bachelor of Engineering in distinction, she took Indian civil services Examination and she got IPS; and after the basic training in Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel National police Academy (SVP NPA) situated at Hyderabad, she was posted to undergo practical training under his guidance.
After the death of Mr. Johnson, she preferred to stay in Officers Mess. Later when Honey attained puberty, Jasmine being a lady thought of the necessity and the need of her presence at his bungalow. As Honey was also in need of womanâs care at that time, he couldnât say ânoâ to her.
In fact he never had any second thoughts nor having any malicious intention against Jasmine. For him both Honey and Jasmine were the same as two daughters.
But he forgot to think about the society; wherein there were different kinds of people, some of them exclusively try to sling mud over the celebrities. In fact his loneliness also gave scope and a chance for officers, media and public to suspect his bona fides.
It was true that he did a glaring mistake in his long service of twenty years, allowing a spinster lady to stay in his house without the prior knowledge or permission of the head in the hierarchy. He then opened the case diary of the death of Mr. Johnson.
The I.O who investigated the case of late Mr. Johnson was Miss. Jasmine and she concluded the fact that Mrs. Rosaline and Mr. Jonson were classmates and lovers, besides they both married secretly and later they were forced to break up etc facts.
But she couldnât give any conclusion whether the death of Johnson was a case of suicide or Homicide? Nor she suspected the hand of anybody?
In her case diary, ACP Anirudh found some lapses and missing links and further he didnât find the personal dairy of Mr. Johnson. He immediately rang up to police station and enquired with the S.H.O regarding the diary of late Mr. Johnson.
