Chapter 5:Finding out the truth
On April 16, 2008 (today) Sam,Mr and Mrs Jenkins, and Jason all went to their Great Aunt Sophia's funeral just outside of Deansville, Ohio. Sophia had wished to be buried in that exact cemetary because thats where Great Uncle Howard was. Samantha was dressed in a short black dress with wide straps,GIGI black pumps that had been a gift from Sophia but which hurt Sam's feet,a big black hat with netting surrounding the perimeter of it,and a black cardigan sweater over the dress. She had to keep wiping away loose tears so her mascara wouldn't run. Ryan had kissed her goodbye because he wasn't exactly invited to the funeral. When they got to Oldtown Cemetery Sam quickly took a seat in on a the hard metal folding chairs and crossed her legs. The rest of her family did the same. Sam listened to the speeches and when it was her turn she stood up obiediently and took her position on the little stool. "Hello everyone, you all knew My Great Aunt Sophia and you all cherished and loved her." she said. "She was a great woman with many talents and dreams that she never really got the chance to fulfill, but she was still a great aunt-literally." (laugh) Sam went on with her speech and when it was over she took her seat again and watched her father do his speech, then mother, then Jason. At the end of the Funeral everyone hugged and cried not knowing what else to do. The whole ride home everyone was silent. Nobody said a word. We were all too sad to speak. When Sam got home, Ryan was waiting for her. She half smiled. She knew the pain of her Aunts's death would always be with her but she knew also that she had to get over it enough so that she could enjoy life again. "Sweetie Ryan is waiting for you." said Mrs.Jenkins. Sam sighed and got out the car, she walked up to Ryan and hugged him. "Im sorry," he whispered.

The next day was Saturday and Sam and Ryan were going to hang out. Sam slipped on some old jeans of her mom's and fished a cotton grey boyfriend tee from her dresser drawers. She pulled her hair intto a high ponytail and re-glossed her luscious lips. Sam looked at herself in the mirror and sihged. Her nails were done in a French manicure. She put on some black sparkly flip-flops and headed out. Ryan, looking more gorgeous than ever, waited for her at Central Park. They were going to see a movie.Sam's father surpringly drove up behind Sam and asked her to get in the car. "Why?" asked Sam. "Your mother and I have something to tell you." he said. Sam glanced at Ryan, who was unaware that Sam was there yet. So she got in her mothers mercedes and started to ask what was going on when her question was cut short. "Your Aunt was murdered." blurted out Mrs.Jenkins. Sam stared dumbfounded at her parents. She had sort of guessed it herself but she hadn't said anything considering the fact that she didn't want to let on that she thought her parents had lied to her. "I, um, I guess i sort of figured that part out." Her mom let out an exasperated sigh. "But why did you lie to me?" Sam asked. "Well, we didn't want you to worry to much over this honey." said Mrs Jenkins. "I mean she was having breathing problems but... she was murdered by Gary Hollows." Sam let in a short, sharp breath. "WHY DID HE KILL HER!" Sam yelled. This was too much. "Sweetie, calm down, he murdred her for the money Howard was related to Hollows and then Howard died and now technically Sophia is related to him." she said. Mr. Jenkins added, "Yes, her will would have been his if it wasnt for your mom and I confirming our relations." "But now he could kill one of us because we took away the money!" Sam shouted. A pained look came across her mothers face. "No, no honey don't worry it's gonna be OK...." her mom trailed off. Sam hopped out of the car and ran to Ryan. She hugged him tight and he hugged her back. "What is it?" he asked. "My Aunt was murdered by Gary Hollows." Imprint
