Mackenize girl stop it! Stop it before you burn your hair!" Jodiya swatted at her best friend, waving away the smoke and hair spray that floated in the 5 foot wide bathroom as Mackenzie flat ironed her hair in the mirror, a determined look on her face as she continued to style her hair ignoring Jodiya. She leaned forward, grabbing another strand of her hair and swooping the flat iron so she could have a bang falling in her face. "Whatever girl. I know how I like my hair. I do this every morning.''

"You dont have to you know. " Jodiya stepped back into the hallway, needing some air outside of the small space. Mackenzie had it smelling like a damn hair salon and burnt biscuits in here. "Thats virgin hair, you dont got to add all that heat to it."

Mackenzie rolled her eyes, propping her hands up on her on her hips. "Oh I know you aint talking Ms. I wanna be booshie tonight and wear my real hair. We aint all got it like that." Jodiya laughed running her hands through her hair which was just shy of 16 inches. Although Jodiya loved to wear weave and switch up her looks, she really didnt have too because she had hair of her own. "I wanted to try something different for tonight."

Mackenzie smiled as she opened her makeup compacter, blotting her face with matte foundation. "So glad you finally participating and getting in the mood."

Jodiya sucked her teeth. "No ma'am. Dont think just because I agreed to go that means i want to go. Because I still feel really uncomfortable about the whole thing."

Mackenzie rolled her eyes, obviously ignoring her. Jodiya sure did know how to be a debby downer and fuck up the mood. "God shutup Jodiya. Your so dramatic. Just one little blind date wont kill you.''

Jodiya shook her head, feeling misunderstood and very pressured into doing something she didnt feel comfortable doing. True, she had a bad history with men, and yes it had been a very, very long time since she dated someone she really liked. But in all honesty, Jodiya was a stunning, educated rich girl and she really thought the whole blind date thing was a little drastic.

"Look at it this way" Mackenzie interuppted her thoughts. "I'm going on a blind date with you too. I don't know the guy im meeting either. So we both nervous."

Jodiya laughed, obviously not convinced. "Girl, you is not nervous! You probably do this all the time."

Mackenzie continued to blot herself with makeup, secretly not knowing how beautiful she was and that she didnt need it. "Dates, yes. Blind dates, no this is a first. Never been on one."

Jodiya propped her hip against the wall, her perfectly silky straight hair falling over her shoulders. "And where did you find these guys again?"

Mackenzie smiled. "My homegirl. She got connects. Her dude know everybody in the city."

"Mhmmm. And who is everybody??? I know people too." Jodiya integrogated her.

"I know one of they name is Karenzo. Thats your guy. I forgot the other ones name."

Jodiya laughed, wondering what the hell kind of name is Karenzo. "Never heard of him. Name dont ring a bell. You sure he aint no fake baller?"

Mackenzie turned to her, cocking her head to the side as her straight hair blew from the fan she had switched on. "What does it matter if he was a fake baller. You aint got nothing to lose. Its not like you got no man."

Jodiya smacked her lips, obviously annoyed by the low blows. As much as she hated to admitt it, it was all true. She had been single for years. She was 21 the last time she had a serious boyfriend and even that didnt last long. Jodiya had gotten to the point where she had gotten comfortable with her routine in life. She didnt need a man waiting for her at home. She was too busy out here grinding trying to make her place in life. A college degree aint nothing if you don't have a solid plan to back it up. Becoming flustered, Jodiya tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, her skin becoming lightly damp from her sweat. "Look, I just want to go on this date and get it over with. That way you never have to ask me to do this again because im tired of you bugging me about it."

Mackenzie smiled, grinning as if she had finally gotten her way. "Well you know I really appreciate it. And you really have nothing to worry about. I text that Karenzo guy a picture of you and he says you fine as hell."

Jodiyas eyes widened, not knowing her best friend sent this guy pictures. That defeats the purpose of a blind date. "Mackenzie, are you kidding me? Now he's seen my pictures and I still have no idea what he looks like.''

"Just chill out Jodi.'' Mackenzie brushed her off. "Thats the only way he could get him to agree to come. At first he said he wouldnt do it until he seen your pics and seen how fine you are.''

Jodiya rolled her eyes. This girl always had some tricks up her sleeve. Sometimes she had no idea how they survived 13 years as bestfriends. "What picture did you send Mackenzie??
