Story 1:
“Oh, come on, Carter! Smile! Why don’t you say what you think?”
That was the thing with Carter. His lack of emotion.
“Why should I say what I think? You would just disagree,” he replied, flat-noted as always.
“Well it wouldn’t hurt to try!” Meghan, the girl talking to him, said as she walked back to her friends a few tables away.
‘What if I’m afraid of your rejection? A risk my heart can’t take.’
His dusty blonde hair set in front of his eyes, skewing his view. But nothing matters anymore, anyway. Just watch as your dreams walk away.
Story 2:
As the music blasted in your headphones, the people walk by. Just blend in, and let them bump you off balance. Let them step on your feet. Can't you stand up for yourself, through this? What would be the point, if they'd only laugh behind your back later?
Standing, barely enough, will get you through your day. Why care if someone sees you live your life, why wonder what their thoughts are?
But maybe you do care. It’s impossible not to. Evade glances as much as you please, it won’t help you afterwards. You can’t do anything the right way.
Story 3:
Running through the trees.
Where are you? It’s not exactly a good place. The trees are made of small scribbles. As you look again, you notice it’s not scribbles, but writing. You try to look closer. It seems these words are sentences, making rumors. You know these rumors. In fact, you actually started most of them.
You start running again. Away from trees and rumors. But wherever you go you end up in the same spot, the same towering trees. Why is this happening? What did you do to deserve this?
You did it all, and all can’t be erased.
