Sleeping

Fade in:

INT. CLASSROOM – DAY

Inside one of the most boring math classes in San Diego sleeps Will, your average high school student.

WILLIAM (15): Unmotivated sophomore.

MATIAS (16): Will's friend, a sophomore, and owns a car.

TEACHER

Can anyone tell me how to graph this function and find its asymptotes?

No one replies and Will continues to sleep undisturbed.

TEACHER

How about you Will? Have you learned anything with your head down?

Will’s friend MATIAS attempts to wake him up with a poke.

MATIAS

Wake up Will, the teacher called on you.

The teacher walks over to WILL’S desk to see what’s going on.

WILL

What? Uh, I’m awa- (Will hurriedly starts speaking, lifts his head, and stops short when he sees the teacher.)

TEACHER

Do you know the answer?

WILL

Um, well I think you just have to…. Can you repeat the question?

TEACHER

No sleeping in class.

The TEACHER returns to the front of the room.

Skip to bell ringing and passing period.

WILL and MATIAS are walking down the hall to their next class.

WILL

Did I miss anything important in class?

MATIAS

Nope. Just another day in class, the highlight for everybody else was probably just the teacher noticing you sleeping.

Bryce (16): star football player, junior.

As BRYCE walks past WILL he intentionally bumps into him.

WILL (turns to look back at BRYCE and mumbles)

Douche.

BRYCE

(Said in a hostile manner)

Do you have something to say to me?

WILL just shakes his head and moves along with MATIAS.

MATIAS

Don’t take it personally; he’s a dick to pretty much everyone.

WILL

I guess, well see ya dude.

WILL walks into his next class.

Lunch

Fade in:

INT. School Cafeteria/ EXT. Outside of school – DAY

Will is waiting in line along with Matias.

Will

So how's your day been going?

Matias

Good. Do you know how much tickets to the dance are?

Will

No, are you going?

Matias

Are you not?

Will

I don't see the point, all the school dances I've been to before weren't that great. Unless I get a date to the dance I probably won't be going.

Matias

Then get a date.

Will

And how do you suggest that I do that?

Matias chuckles.

Matias

Just ask a girl to go with you. That's what I did.

Will laughs.

Will

I mean if you got a date, then it can't be too hard.

Switch to Sarah (16): Pretty, smart, semi-popular sophomore. and Carie (15) : Sarah's friend walking around.

Carie

So who are you going with?

Sarah

No one's asked me yet and I don't like anyone right now.

Carie

Really? I guess I can understand that.

Sarah and Carie pass by Will sitting and eating at a table with Matias.

Sarah

Hey William.

Sarah waves.

Will waves and Matias turns to see who he's waving to.

Carie

Who was that?

Sarah

This guy I know from my English class, he's cool.

Carrie

He's cute.

Sarah

I guess.

Switch to Will and Matias at their table.

Matias

You should ask her to the dance.

Dance

Fade in:

INT. School Gym – Night

Will and Sarah arrive at the Gym where their school dance is being held.

Will

You look nice tonight.

Sarah

Thanks. Are you ready to dance?

Will

You mean we actually have to dance? I thought we were just here to watch everyone else make fools of themselves.

Sarah laughs.

Will

I will take that as a yes.

Will and Sarah enter the decorated Gym where a DJ and awkwardly dancing kids await.

A montage of them dancing to different songs should quickly pass until a slow song comes.

Will and Sarah slow dance, while maintaining steady eye contact.

Will

Your eyes are beautiful.

Will kisses Sarah.

Skip to end of dance and Sarah getting picked up.

Bryce walks out of the gym and walks up to Will by the edge of the school.

Bryce

Do you think she's yours, Will?

Will

What? Oh, hey Bryce.

Bryce

You are going to tell her you aren't interested in her anymore. She's mine.

Will

Why would I do that? And I wasn't aware that owning people was still legal.

Bryce

Smart-ass.

Bryce shoves Will. Random students that were near start chanting fight. Over time a crowd of people surrounds them, they all chant fight.

Bryce

You just going to stand there?

No reply.

Bryce

I'm talking to you.

Will continues to not reply, so Bryce punches him in the stomach. Will turns and acts as though he is going to punch Bryce, but Bryce delivers multiple punches to his face, knocking him out before anything can be done.

Will is on the floor bleeding when his parents arrive to pick him up.

Thinking

Fade in:

INT. Will's House – Midday

MOM (42): Will's Mom. DAD (43): Will's Father.

Will and his parents are in the kitchen eating breakfast, with Will's Dad sifting through the mail.

DAD

This is unacceptable! Are you aware of the grades you ended up with?

DAD leaves the room in frustration. MOM moves to and checks Will's report card.

MOM

You fight, you fail half your classes, and you don't even stay in a relationship with the girl that started it all.

WILL

It's not like it was my choice.

MOM

We always have a choice, do you even care if you have a future?

WILL

I'll go to summer school, I can always do better next year.

MOM

And who's going to pay for summer school?

WILL

If you pay for it then I promise to try and do my best next school year.

MOM

Just try? You have to promise to give next year your all.

WILL

I...I-

MOM

I will have to talk it over with your father, but no matter what he says, consider yourself grounded for the foreseeable future. Everything we do has consequences, we need to think about what we are going to do before we do it.

WILL goes to his room and calls MATIAS.

WILL

Hey man.

MATIAS

Hey dude, how'd your parents deal with your grades?

WILL

They didn't notice the date on the mail, so they won't know I hid it in order to go to the party, but they are still pissed.

MATIAS

Sucks. Things are still awkward between you and Sarah?

WILL

Yeah, but I think I am gonna try and go back to how I was. I really need to start doing better in school and I'm over Sarah for the most part.

MATIAS

Well I guess it's not too late for us... Though I personally still don't see the point in doing amazing in school. Good luck man, I got to go.

WILL

See yeah.

New Start

Fade in:

EXT. School Field(Graduation Ceremony) – Day

Matias' car is parked as close to the school field as possible, where Will and Matias wait with maskes on them and chickens in the back.

MATIAS

Are you sure you want to do this?

WILL

Yeah, it might not be our graduation ceremony, but I am leaving this school.

MATIAS

Okay well I will leave the car on, good luck.

WILL leaves the car and brings the two cages with chickens in them with him. He runs up to the podium where graduate's names are being announced and releases the chickens. Immediately afterwards he runs away back to MATIAS.

WILL

Drive!

MATIAS and WILL drive off.

MATIAS

Man I'm gonna miss you.

Old Man

This is the last scene, either after New Start or Thinking. (I am not sure if the prank is doable, though I was thinking for the chickens you could maybe even just edit in some pictures of chickens, though it may be a bit too silly.)

I don't think it is necessary for me to write this scene out since it involves no dialogue and will all be about where it is filmed, as well as what is captured by the camera.
