3rd Grade
----------------------------------------------------

We were only 9 years old when we learned about sex and what it can do to us.....

"Good Morning D!" I said. "Good Morning Shay!" Dana said.
"Are you ready to learn about the’s’ word today in health class?" I said
"Yes! My mom said it's a good thing they are teaching us this at a young age so that way we should know before we get in to them 'stages'" Dana said quoting the word with her fingers.
"My mom said the same thing!" I said just as our teacher-Mrs. Winston- walked in. She taught us all about the most common disease you can get from having sex and how girls get pregnant.

"I wonder why Mrs. Winston said that if we get pregnant that it will throw away out whole lives" Dana said after school as we waited on our parents in Before-And-After Care. "Yeah. I do too. But let’s promise each other that we will not have any sex until we are married" I replied
"Nooo! That takes a long time. We don't know how long it's going to take for us to get married. Besides we don't want to end up like Ms.Bingum over there and never be married and never have sex." Dana said going into a whisper. We both laughed
"True. So let’s just wait until college."
"Yeah" Then we did our 'I swear' handshake and went on with our lives.

Chapter 2
----------------------------------------------------

“O MY GOSH D! I CAN’T BELIVE WE ARE ALMOST IN THE 12TH GRADE!”
“Yeah girl. But I don’t understand why you’re so excited. It’s gonna be the same ‘ole same ‘ole. We stay at you house and if we aren’t there were at the mall checking the honey’s out, get numbers, get free food and cloths! Oooo! I think I want to go now!”
“Girl you a mess! Don’t you know that we don’t say honeys? The boy’s say that? You on something stronger than crack!”
“But you sold it to me” we said as were cracking up laughing.
“Girls why are you two so giggly already?” My mom said
“Because your child sold me something stronger than crack”
“O MY GOSH WHAT?!?!?! I THOUGHT I RAISED YOU BETTER THAN THAT!”
“Hahahaha! Mamma T chill! I was just joking! Shay too much of a goody-two shoes to do that. You raised her just fine!”
“Dana you a trip! Had me scared to death! I thought my only child was going to go to juvey eventually.”
“Hahahaha! Ok Mom Dukes. So can we go to the mall?”
“I don’t care. I have to work double today so I won’t be home to make sure your home by 11 but I trust you two so fine do whatever.”

My mom is a single mother. My dad left her when I was about 4 but when he got his life together he came back when I was 6. When I was 10 he got into a car crash and died. Me and my mom were devastated. I stayed with Dana for about a year to calm down and moved back in with my mother. She works 3 jobs and sometimes has to do a double shift. She does everything she can do so I can stay happy. I don’t understand why she works so hard though because we live in a beautiful house. She is a very pretty woman. If she was a teen, all the teen boys would be on her. She’s average height, light skinned, and her figure was in the right places so she had no problem turning men on. She reminds me of a model. I take on the looks of my father. Tall, skinny, brown hair and a small figure. Dana is like my sister. She reminds me more of my mom but a ghetto version. She average height and her figure is just right also so she has no problem’s getting the boy’s. Compared to Dana, I’m just a shadow. The boys would always notice her before they notice me and sometimes, they don’t even look at me. Sometimes I feel like there is no points in me going out because don’t no boy want me. Most boys would only use me to get to Dana. But o well, Dana my girl so I’m just gonna have to deal with it.

Dana likes to take my car. I have an all black Porch with tinted windows and my license plate says SHWTYLO. I don’t know why she loves it so much. She acts like she has never seen a Porch before. When we got to the mall it was packed. I started to look for a parking space in the front. When I found one I started to drive to it but just as we got into it, a silver mustang pulled into it.
“WHAT THA FUCK ARE YALL DOING?!?!?! WE WERE HERE FIRST SO GET YALL LITTLE RUDE ASSES OUT OF OUR PARKING SPOT!” Dana yelled at the driver. When the driver got out, I froze. He was a cutie! He was tall, masculine, had nice brown eyes and was wearing an all black adidas sweat suit and had on an all white with black strip adidas shoes on. He said to us “My bad shawty. Is there a problem?”
“Actually there is! You just stole our parking space!” Dana said
He laughed and said “I’m sorry. I will move, once you show me where it says reserved for
. What’s your name?”
“Dana! And it’s about to say it on you ‘re ass if you don’t move”
“Well then Dana, once you show me where it says reserved for Dana and you give me your number, how about I’ll move then. Let’s walk around the mall together.”
“Ok. And my number is 555-8121” Dana Said
“Iight shawty. My name Devon. Hold up let me see what’s tacking my manz so long to get out the car” he said with a smile
“Girl he is cute!” I said once he was out of ear shot
“I know right! I can’t believe I just gave him my number on the spot. I wonder what the other dude look like.”
Just as Dana said that the passenger stepped out. I melted! He was like Devon times 3! He was wearing the all red adidas sweat suit and the white with the red striped adidas shoe. Tall masculine, had hazel eyes, and had a fresh hair cut. It was like love at first sight!
“Damn Shorty! I ain’t ever somebody that cute in my life! What’s your name?” He said
“Dana. I thought your buddy over there would’ve told you that” Dana said
He laughed. “I ain’t talking bout you. I’m talking bout the Shorty in the driver seat. What’s your name?” I was still day dreaming about him while he was talking to me. Dana had to elbow me in my side in order for me to snap out “Sh-Shayla.” I said stuttering. He laughed again “Looks like you feel the same way about me with you stuttering like that. My name Donnell.”
“Um, hi.”
“CAN YALL STOP DAY DREAMING ABOUT EACH OVA AND MOVE YALL CAR? Geesh! We have been sitting here for who knows how long and I want some cloths!” Dana said throwing another temper tantrum.

“Iight! Chill Dana! Imma go do that now” Devon said and hoped in the car to move it. We parked and met Donnell and Devon in the mall. Donnell bought me all these amazing outfits and they fit me perfectly. He has a great taste in clothes. We talked about almost everything. He just finished graduating from high school and was thinking about going to college. I told him I have one more year on high school and is going to college no matter what. Dana and Devon on the other hand, kept fighting like brother and sister. They argued mainly because Devon didn’t want to buy Dana the cloths that she wanted and kept using Donnell as an example. Some of us got hungry and sat down to eat. That was the first time scence we have been at the mall that Dana and Devon wasn’t arguing

“So Shayla, are you rich or something cuz you driving ‘round with that expensive car.” Donnell said. “Is that the only reason why you like me? Because you think I have money? Well guess what sweet heart I ain’t rich. I knew you ain’t really like me. It was too good to be true. Everybody likes Dana but nobody likes Shayla. Ugh! I’m leaving! Dana are you coming or are you gonna chill with these ass holes?” I said curking off.
“Um yeah. Me and Devon ain’t finish with my shopping. I’ll just make them take me home.”
“Iight. Text me when you on your way” I said then stormed off

End of 11th grade
----------------------------------------------------

About an hour later:
Hey gurl! I’m on my wae bakk now. I had so much fun. Donnell said hes really sorry. He ain’t mean to offend you. He was just asking a simple question. He wanted your number but I said to ask u first. Love you! –D

I really didn’t feel like replying to Dana’s text but I did anyway. Ok I really don’t care. Just hurry back I need you rite now! I really needed her. I was bored and miserable. I needed her crack head self to be by my side to make me smile. So many thought came to my mind about the past. It use to be me Dana, and our other friend Jayson. But he died in a shoot out. Tears flooded my eyes as I think back to how it happened. I was right there. I can still feel his blood rushing out onto my skin as we sat and waited for the ambulance to show up. Ugh! I gotta stop thinking about this! It hurts too much! Good thing Dana came in right at that time because I was about to break down and be depressed again.

“Girl I know you ain’t cryin’ over Jayson again! That happened 3 years ago!” Dana said
“I know I know but it just hurts soo much to think about it. That’s why I said that I needed you! But I’m glad you’re here so now I can chill.”
“We should go see a movie”
“Which one?”
“Jumping the broom”
“Who going?”
“It’s a surprise. Just dress really sexy-ish ok?”
“Fine”

I got a text about 15 mintues later from an unknown number saying: I can’t wait 2 cc u tonite Shorty .I got scared but o had a pretty good guess of who it is but I still got a little shaky.

It took us about 40 minutes to get ready. Dana was wearing some apple bottom jeans with a matching apple bottom shirt. Her hair was pulled back into I nice pony tail with her bangs going to the side and she wearing big hoop earrings with a matching bracelet and ring and the new Jordan’s. While me on the other hand was wearing short Denim shirt with a halter top. I had my hair down and my bangs were put up
