CHAPTER 1
The sun rose over the gray, somber buildings. It seems as though everything was missing a beloved one or thing. Even aunt Lori. A harsh yelp made Rina jump to life."Who was that?" Rina inquired, quite disturbed. Then Rina remembered in the dream she was calling for help. She saw a prince, a handsome prince, saving her from the corrupt walls of the corrupt. The only problem possible was the corruptness in the prince. This lovely dream reminded Rina of her own love. As a dumpy girl of fourteen, envious of her little roommate, Marnie of 9, she did not have much of a love life. If only she hadn't done the waltz on May Day, if only Marnie hadn't blurted out Rina's crushes, and if only she wasn't a 134 pounder. Life was all misery and tragedy and jealousy and jeopardy. "I've got to go and meet my prince," Rina thought aloud. In her pajamas, escaping the prison home, Rina dodged every single orphan without a word, even bumping into Warren didn't make her stop! She carried a briefcase that once belonged to Rina's dad. Instead of seeing the sky for the first time in a while, a fat Mrs. McQuirky stood there, blocking the beautiful sight. "Not so fast, Ms. Allen... why try to escape?" Mrs. McQuirky asked, with an unpleasant look dashing to her face. Seems like Rina made it to the dead end, and has to escape.
CHAPTER 2
Rina had finally escaped the orphanage, one of the most dreadful sites in Rina's life (also Aunt Lori's)
ever. Rina ran as though it were the end of the world.
