Her True Hero
Chapter 1
Amy shivered and rubbed her goosebumped arms trying to get warm in the dreadfully cold night. She stared up at the shadow in front of her, her eyes slitted and she glared at the shadow of the church cross in front of her. She then turned her gaze up at the big church. Her heart twisted strangly. "those people are the kind that only show pity...they can never or won't ever help.." she sighed and shook her head. she pushed away from the ridged brick wall and started to walk past the church. She stiffened when the door opened and light shined out onto her and the sidewalk around her. A old woman stepped out and smiled at amy, "hello dear..do you need a ride home?" amy sneered at the woman. "no!..i need a jacket or how about this...i don't need your pity..i get enough of it from all of the other hipocrites in you church!" The woman's eyes widened. "I'm sorry you feel that way...if you want you can stay with me for awhile..until you get back up on your feet if you want..." Amy glared at the hunched back, old woman. "fine!..i'll go with you.." Amy snapped in her shriveled face. she pushed past the woman to her car. "Well?!! Unlock it! It's cold out here!!!" Amy rubbed her numb arms as the woman fumbled with the keys in her old shaky hands.
Chapter 2
Amy sighed and stomped around the car to the old lady. She snatched up the keys and jammed them into the lock, the while she mumbled under her breath. the old woman laid a trembling hand on Amy's pale one. "in the Bible it says in Philippians 2:14- do all thing without griping or complaining...Can you do that?" Amy slithered out of the womans' grasp. "no!" Amy thrust the keys at the old lady. "what's your name?" the old lady smiled. "Amena Godfrey" Amy's eye brows raised. "that name is weird..." she limped cautiously around the old beat up car, and opened the door with a pop. Amy slid with a squeak across the worn out seat and got buckled. Amena got in and buckled before grasping my hand. "dear..what is your name?" her pale blue eyes searched my face. "Amy Grace Wilson...or Amy ..some people call me slick..." The old lady released her hand and started the car. "i think i'll call you Grace..." Amy turned and leaned against the door and rolled her eyes. "whatever..i really don't care..." Amena shook her head as she put the car in reverse. "you do care...you just don't want people thinking you care..but you have hardened your heart to get through life...it's okay to cry Grace..."
