Today is the day Ive been waiting for my whole life. I sit breathlessly on the bench in the park where we agreed to meet. Any moment shell come around the corner. Will I recognize her? Will she recognize me? Will she think Im pretty, or will she be disappointed? Were as closely connected as two human beings can be, but Ive never known her. She brought me into this world, but left behind only a token a heart-shaped locket, which I clutch in my hand. I feel anger -- and love. I sit and wait to meet my mother.
