As she glanced out of her bedroom window, she thought to herself,"could life be any more unbearable?" She had just returned home from discovering the unfaithfulness of her long-term boyfriend suckling on a young blond's neck on the comfort of his living room couch. On the ride home, rising up with the inevitable tears, her anticipated discredit began to kick in. "Who else in my life has not been loyal to me?" she thought. "What has my life come to, where I am subject to a life of alienation and despair?"
She looked away from her window to notice her notebook on her bed, open to a blank sheet of paper. "I am utterly alone, much like this notebook," she thought as she wondered if anyone would notice if she were to vanish off the face of the earth. As she reached for the empty notebook, she though of what she would say. Every single word she chose mattered, for they would be her last. After countless drafts, she was content with her touching and mournful goodbye, saying how she wished she had more time.
She reached into her sock draw and pulled out a dull razor blade. As she did, an infinite amount of thoughts raced through her brain like wildfire. Some were fond, others were unbelievably heart-wrenching it made her struggle for breath. She felt time stop as she stared at her bare wrist, shivering as she could feel the blood rush from her wrist, to her heart, and back again. She took a deep breath and slashed what seemed to be a cut so deep, she could feel the soft wind against her bone. Instant panic rushed through her brain. All she could think of was her parents, how much she would miss them, how little time she had been allotted, how she longed for more time. But it was too late.
Too ashamed to wake her parents, she reluctantly sat in her bedroom, praying for forgiveness, even though she wasn't a religious person. Soft, warm tears ran down her face as blood spilled onto the floor by the gallon.
And thus, through her impulsive, immature teenage angst, she faced death head on. There was nothing to do but let the inevitable happen. There was no turning back, no rewinding time. Everything became cold and dark as she took her last breath.
