Short Story from a writing challenge.
Natalie runs from a clockwork monster in this snippet of a story.
This was just for practice. I haven't decided if I want to write more.
Sometimes I wonder,
If death would just be easier,
Then dealing with life.
I think to myself,
What is life living for,
If there is nothing in life to live for?
I watched from the edge of the 10 story building as people gathered. I wasn't afraid, I had wanted to die, and NOT come back for so long, I did not want to be saved, I shall not be saved. I took a deep breath, but heard a voice, his voice "Juliana! Wait! You don't know what your doing!" I laughed. Of course I knew. I had always known. I heard in the background "Let me go! I gotta save her!" "That's our job." I whispered, but I knew they could hear " too late" and fell, fell in bliss, waiting for the end. but it never came.

Sleepovers. Dating. Boyfriends. Prom. Graduation. Sam and her best friend Lily were supposed to do all these things together. But they can't. Why? Because Lily died.
When Lily passes away, Sam is lost. She doesn't know how to live without her best friend. Lily helped Sam through all the screwed up things in her life. Especially when her dad died of cancer and her mom became an alcoholic. Sam even considers suicide so she can be with Lily. When she tries to attempt it, however, she meets Logan. Will he help her get through this? Or will Sam go through with her plan?
I heard an gun went off as my eyes search for the shooter but found nothing.I turn to Anna and saw her looking down and her hand clutching her stomach before I could ask her what happen another gun shot went off.
She moves from home to home with her disowned mother, Beth, in an attempt to escape the tragedies that follow. Within each house that Rose finally finds escape within, destruction follows the path beneath the monster running through her veins.
She doesn't know how to control the strength burning in the center of her soul, it was all part of a destiny told in The Book of Truth. Werewolves, vampires, and other unknown creatures roam the night in attempt to savage what's left of the world.
Rose didn't have a clue of the world among her, only some of the town's gang members knew of the power surging through her. Many have internally questioned the mystery that controls her, yet none tend to speak out into the open about their questioning thoughts.
She has the power every child's super hero could dream of, one the fates have given her in order to survive. Their is no name to the power controlling Rose, no description as to how to stabilize the monster.
"I don't know what I am anymore."
Rose never imagined something so exciting to happen in her ordinary and plain life, until the day she meets with Dan's family. Never, has she experienced a life so out into the open, one which involves drastic accidents and exciting chases with the law.

Science says the weight of a human soul is 21 grams - stated at the time of death, it has been measured that a body loses exactly 21 grams; they concluded it was the 'soul' leaving the body.
This is a receiving department for the souls with a heaven and a hell side to the department.
