I watched from the edge of the 10 story building as people gathered. I wasn't afraid, I had wanted to die, and NOT come back for so long, I did not want to be saved, I shall not be saved. I took a deep breath, but heard a voice, his voice "Juliana! Wait! You don't know what your doing!" I laughed. Of course I knew. I had always known. I heard in the background "Let me go! I gotta save her!" "That's our job." I whispered, but I knew they could hear " too late" and fell, fell in bliss, waiting for the end. but it never came.
“You’re ugly.
No one ever wanted you.
You were a mistake.
We only wanted Ashley. If we knew you were in there as well we’d abort you from day one.
You might as well be dead.”
All these thoughts began to run through my mind, remembering the things people said about me, remembering how they gazed at me in disgust. Remembering how my parents would commemorate Ashley’s birthday and pretend it wasn’t mine as well. How they’d leave me alone at home. How they’ll get Ashley name brand clothing but I got clothes from the thrift shop, she’d ride to school in her new Mercedes but I’ll have to catch the bus. It was as we weren’t sisters at all.
This was how my life was all through my whole sixteen years.
This story is about a 16 year old girl who runs away from the bad memories of her old life. As she starts to build up a new life with her abusive foster parents, the secrets of her past slowly unravel the pieces of her new life she is desperately trying to hold on to. Will love find a way into her life when all she can remember is violence? Or will her past kill her in the end?
