A poem in memory of the late great legendary poet, Langston Hughes that will appear in my upcoming book entitled "W.R.I.T.E. (When Real Intense Thoughts Exist). Langston Hughes has been one of my greatest influences as for writing poetry.

Paranormal poetry...
A school deep in the woods...
A Math teacher who had no one...
An angry queen...
An escape...
A strange beautiful woman...
And a mystical night...

I used to cry

With every pound

And cut myself

To feel it less.

A poetic story revolving around the perspective of teen desperate to become thinner. With a drunk mother, and uncaring father, her life is spinning dangerously out of control.

A unique take on dating presented through a series of poems from one lover to another. This wry collection of works weaves a potent concoction of heart, cynicisim, humor, loss, disaster, self-absorption, and meaning in the vein of Shel Silverstein, Charles Bukowski, and Edward Gorey.

Being Heather Gibbs' best friend was like being an awkward, pimple-faced thirteen year old girl all over again. She was overly... well, everything. Overly-gorgeous, and funny, and perfect.

And then there was me, with my straw-colored hair and tiny, tiny frame. She looked like a Victoria Secret model; I looked like a children's clothing model.

And yet, Your Friend had chosen to write to me. And I was determined to figure out who they were.
