“ now are you sure you’ll be allright?”
“yes mum!”
“sure?”
“yes”
“okay, if you need anything just ring me I’ll come straight …”
“MUM GO!”
“alright! Love you!”
“yep .”
Freedom at last.
Mum never lets me stay home alone. Lucky for me mum has a business conference and dads out.
I can do whatever I like. I can ring who ever I like. Hmm…. Interesting… I wondered up stairs and sat down at my laptop. Should I throw a party? How fun would that be everyone dancing and then having that mad panic when mum comes back and I have to .. tidy… up.. on second thoughts, no.
Drinking 3 cans of cokes has its upsides but does leave you desperado for the loo! Suddenly the air turns cold. I shiver and turn up the thirmastat. But.. its still freezing. And theres scratching too, what is that. Probably just mice. As I walk under the toilet door I smell something too, like a rotting apple but a nice fragrant one, I look up, just the plain loft hatch nothing there. But I cant help feel someones watching me. I tell myself its nothing.
Im washing my hands now and somethings creaking. I don’t want to leave the bathroom, but if there I know its nothing and if im scared mum will never let me stay home alone again. I edge open the bathroom door and take a sneaky look up at the loft. Hmm. “it wasn’t open before was it?” I think aloud.
“no.” says a voice behind me.
Theres no time to scream before im stuffed into a bag and heaved around somewhere. When I have struggled free from the bag I realize im in the loft. Alone. He’s gone.
Mum and dad have rung the police and there having a conversation in the kitchen. I want to scream out to them im up here but no one will hear me. I scratch away at the hatch but It wont open, its bolted from the outside. Theres no point in banging my hands are red raw and bleeding. I’ll starve before dad comes up here again.
Everyone thought I’d run away or had been kidnapped. Nobody realized I’d never left home.
