A stitch in time

I opened my eyes but all I could see was darkness, the ropes tied to my arms now started to hurt my red hair tangled in an unruly mess dropping down to my waist, I couldnā€™t get up as I was bound to the solid wooden chair. Suddenly I heard movement then the jiggling of keys the small cold cell now was filled with yellow glowing light. I looked up only to find a scrawny looking man glaring at me.
We stared at each other for a few moments before his gruff sounding voice broke the eerie silence, ā€˜ā€™I have a message from sir ivashkov he says that you must comply soon or weā€™ll have no use for you- only to dispose of your body laterā€™ā€™ he smirked at the last words thinking I would be scared yeah sure you skinny bastard wait till I get my hands on you.
I understood perfectly what he said but it didnā€™t scare me Iā€™ve already been through a lot than to be frightened by some uncanny words. ā€˜ā€™why wonā€™t he say that himself huhā€™ā€™ my breath turned into white fog because of the cold ā€“ā€˜ā€™think youā€™re so tough by saying that to me youā€™re lucky Iā€™m tied up now get out of my face Iā€™d rather stare into darkness than look at your repulsive face people like you make me sickā€™ā€™ I uttered in deathly low whisper.
The man gave me what I thought was his dirtiest stare and walked away locking the door much harder behind him once again leaving me to dwell into the black oblivion.
I didnā€™t realise Iā€™ve been sleeping when I was woken by loud shouting I thought it was just an argument between the guards when suddenly I heard gun shots and was pulled out of my revere as a loud bang came from my left and the steel bookshelf toppled over falling against me I jerked back but the chair lost its balance I hit my head against the white tiled floor black dots started to cloud my vision and I blacked out just I heard the jingling of keys opening the door which held me captive.
Chapter 2:
Go! Go! More shouting was heard I felt drowsy sleep calling me back again- ā€œLeave her!ā€™ā€™ ā€œHuh what...ā€™ā€™ my voice meekly making a sound there was distress in that voice I willed my eyes to open.
ā€˜Come on Ariannaā€™ I spoke in my mind. The vision was blurry but I managed to see two distinguished figures illuminated by the dim yellow light. I tried to move but there was a heavy weight I tried to jerk my hand away but with the action a lightning bolt of pain surged through my arm and a soft whimper came out of my mouth.
ā€œAri!ā€ ā€¦. My eyelids fluttered open upon the sound of my name. I was shocked to find what lay in front of my eyes my dad was standing up his tall thin frame held by a another man one that was much bigger and bulkier it wasnā€™t just the man that was holding my dad in place but the shiny silver pistol he was jutting out into the side of my dadā€™s skull.
ā€œNo dad move out of the way!ā€ the unknown man with the gun turned towards me and started laughing not the way someone laughs when their happy but the sinister laugh when youā€™re mocking someone at how pathetic they are.
In the corner of my eyes I saw my dad creeping away from the man making ground he swiftly picked up a small but sturdy piece of metal ledge which probably flew off, he then backed up to the man with one swish from the piece of metal and the man was on the ground the sound of laughter was cut of as soon as it came and the eerie silence returning back to the cold cell.
My dad bent down and picked up the silver pistol for good measure why he did what he did next I wasnā€™t too sure, as he fired of the pistol making contact with the manā€™s flesh and blood started spurting out of the bullet hole I was disgusted with the turn of events giving my dad a confused look as if asking why he did that for.
ā€œSo he wouldnā€™t wake up and tell them he found me hereā€ my dad answered me in his deep gruff voice as if it was that obvious, almost knowing what I was about to ask.
As if he just remembered that I was buried under the heavy steel bookshelf he ran to me and heaved the source of my pain off me.
ā€œIā€™m so sorry my darling I should have come here quicker Iā€™ll get you out of here Iā€™ll get you home I promise my sweetheartā€. The look in his eyes told me that I was sure to believe him like all the other times I believed in him. Even though what he did was wrong and you might think Iā€™m absolutely crazy to think this but I genuinely believed that he was just looking after me, and you canā€™t hold that against me.

Chapter3:

My eyes fluttered open met by the bright glow of the morning sun coming through the white curtains I sighed in contempt and snuggled deeper into my soft pillow and wrapping my body tightly with the fluffy blanket.
ā€œAri?...Ari? Are you awake pet?ā€
I peeked my head out of the covers looking for the source of the voice still no believing I was in that cold cell being tortured and now Iā€™m in my bed at home sleeping in like any normal teenager, my eyes finally laid on the tall person standing in the doorway.
ā€œDad? Whatā€™s up?ā€ He walked in and sat on the edge of the bed
ā€œDarling something came up I wonā€™t be able to take care of you anymore Iā€™ve been called to Europe London to be precise and I canā€™t take you with me Iā€™m sorry youā€™ll be living with your great aunt Valentine in France Iā€™ll come and get you after one year darling you have to try and understand that whatever you do donā€™t come looking for me you must and have to stay with your aunt Valentine always what Iā€™m about to do you will never understand but itā€™s for the best if we want to have the life youā€™ve always desired ā€
He got up and started heading out of the doorway before he closed the door he turned towards me
ā€œ I would start packing now if I was you were leaving for the airport tonight.ā€
I was shocked dumbfounded to be exact I couldnā€™t believe what he just said I didnā€™t want to believe it I didnā€™t want to live without my dad for one whole year I couldnā€™t, not with aunt Valentine she absolutely loathed me!. As for my dad there was something oddly different about him, his happy outgoing personality suddenly shadowed by one of sadness and defeat.
I quickly got out of bed and walked to my dresser in the corner of the room and studied my face Iā€™ve never seen a mirror or a reflection of myself for years. Dad said I reminded him too much of mum my honey coloured eyes to my pale complexion and the dark fiery red hair that was always in a mess as I turned from side to side viewing myself in the mirror I saw that I lost a considerate amount of weight my best friend Abigail would say it was definitely model worthy. I sighed at the thought, I missed her and school and the no-fuss life.
ā€œGET READY ARI!ā€ my dadā€™s voice echoing through the large and empty house we called ā€˜homeā€™ guess I should start packing now.
We got to the airport at about 8pm to be exact dad walking beside me with his compact duffle bag slung across his broad slender shoulder and me with my bright green bag steadily rolling behind.
ā€œAri Iā€™m going to go get our bags checked in ok be back in a minuteā€ ā€œok Iā€™ll wait here for you dadā€. If you could even describe the way Iā€™m feeling I would surely give you a noble prize for it the many emotions that I was feeling were engulfing my already crowded mind, suddenly a hand grabbed onto mine cold and rough It gave me a start as I looked up to see who the person was because I was most certainly sure it wasnā€™t my dadā€™s my light brown eyes were met by cold looking grey ones I jerked my hand away but it was no use I kept on struggling to get my hand loose not even looking at the person clearly ā€œget away from me!...DAD! DAD!ā€ the man mumbled some incoherent words but I could still make out some of what he was saying ā€œshiā€¦.no one told me her dads hereā€ and with that the man fled on foot I got a slight glimpse of him as the herd of people swallowed him he had a rather circleish face and a scar which ran down from his left eye right to the middle of his cheek.
I turned around just in time to see my dad walking towards me. I thought of telling him about the man, I was always an indecisive person struggling to make quick decisions and absolutely hated being put on the spot.
ā€œhere Ariā€ my dad hands me a plane ticket ...ā€ your flight leaves in a few minutesā€ just as he said that the intercom came on ā€˜flight 43 to Le Bourget boarding now at gate g14, flight 43 to Le Bourget boarding now at gate g14 please make your wayā€™
My mind was made up for me I decided not to tell dad or else he would do something impulsive and chaperone me all the way to Aunt Valentineā€™s doorstep.
ā€œBye dad see you in a year or yeah I guessā€ my voice sullen getting choked up in the end.
ā€œIā€™m sorry sweetheart itā€™s for the best Iā€™ll see you in a little while I love you donā€™t forget me okayā€ he cupped my face in his hands and looked down at me his grey eyes sparkling underneath the airport lights hanging down above us.
ā€œNever, Iā€™m going to miss you so muchā€ he pulled me into a hug at that time the swarm of people parting around us. The flight attendantā€™s voice cut through the loud chatter of the passengers reminding them that the plane would be leaving soon.
I regretfully let go of my dad and started making my way towards the boarding gates.
ā€œBye dad!ā€ A lonely tear making its journey down from my left eye, and making a small splash onto my face.
I made my way to the gates with my fellow people, I turned around just so I could catch a last glimpse of my dad.
He was standing there a lonely figure contrasting with the hoard of people running around as if there were ants set on with a burning flame. His black hair showing a few lines of grey, the array of crinkles by his eyes more dominant on his face than ever his tall stature towering over the somewhat miniature people that seamed insignificant at the time, A sad smile plastered on his face. He gave me a wave encouraging me to go on ahead; I would miss him a lot that was
