42 year old Lilly Baker is going through a mid life crisis. After her husband left her for a 29 year old red hair, big busted, yoga going bomb shell that he met on Match.com Lilly has no hope left. Her 17 year old daughter Rachel barley even looks at her anymore and blames everything that has happened in the last year on her mother. Lilly knows that she and Rachel need to work out there differences but she just can’t seem to connect with Rachel the way she used to. After last year when Rachel’s best friend Dana Jetson died in a car accident while drunk Rachel can’t seem to forgive herself and feels lost and lonely. Lilly knows that not only does Rachel need her now more then ever but she quickly learns that she needs Rachel as well to help her over come her alcohol addiction.
Lilly decides that she wants to take Rachel on vacation because it’s the last summer before Rachel packs her bags and goes to New York University. Lilly thinks that visiting her old high school friend Elizabeth Campbell a single women leading a religious lifestyle in Louisiana would be the perfect place for the two of them. Lilly figures Elizabeth can help them rediscover who they are and help there relationship along the way. But suddenly there has been a Hurricane warning and Lilly and Rachel discover where they are is the target for the hurricane. While faced with disaster the two of them realize things about each other they never knew before.
