“Pains and sorrows had long gone,” I thought. I was sitting on the stone-bench at Delhi railway station. It was dawn, 4’o clock. I was in my thoughts of past life. My past has unforgettable history. A boy 4 to 5 feet tall has disturbed me. I looked in his eyes. I hold my muffler’s ends in my hands.
“Sahib Chai.” (Sahib stands for lord and Chai stands for tea.) His voice sounds very technical to me. I hold the hot cup of tea with my both hands tightly. It was cold I feel better holding them.
As I sipped, it was coffee. I glanced at his eyes astonishingly. I found a man before me in his mid-twenties.
“Which train is this?” I asked frequently. Everybody gazed me.
“Intercity express.” He replied very softly. I checked my berth number. I felt relaxed it was right.
“Give my money?” he said.
I open the chain of my bag and give him 10 rupees note.
As I looked out of the window I remembered my only best friend Renu. She has black big hairs and black eyes, fair color and she looks beautiful like any Indian girl. She understands me. I was snuggling in her arms from the past few months. She is in a depression right now just like I used to be in my loneliness.
I remembered the period in which she came in my neighbor and in my school. She offered me friendship that was a very unusual thing for me. We become friends and everything changes including me. She improved me and to some extent made me perfect.
Standing before the door of my house I can clearly hear pointless conflict was going inside. I was tired after this long journey for my bank examination. I opened the door softly and entered in room. Renu was buried in guilt by the side door. Four people were fighting with abusive words. They were our parents, Renu’s parents and my parents. I faced my father. He dragged me pulling my big hairs, throws me on the floor, and started kicking in my stomach. I screamed silently. Nobody was saving me. I heard Renu’s father abused her. My mother crushed herself for giving me birth. I hardly faced something like that before.
I started bleeding since now my wound has been crashed by my father kicks. The red blood permeated on the floor. The Renu’s mother holds my father back and far from me. Renu was still screaming and sobbing. I tried to stand up but it wasn't easy without the help of Renu’s mother. She grabbed her daughter’s and my hand and dragged us to the kitchen. She closed the door from inside and puts her both hands on my shoulders. My wound was endlessly paining.
“Why you made her pregnant?” she shouted at me.
I hardly any energy left to say anything but this question has made me ponder the worst moment of my life. I remembered she was struggling to save herself, Screaming, shouting, kicking, everything that she could do in his grasp. I was shouting for help, I was hitting him strongly on his mouth and face, trying to free her from his grasp. At the last he has thrown her in the bathroom and dragged me inside. He closed the door. I fought him continuously and he got tired I feel. He pulls out a rod from the corner of water-cooler. Renu tried to save me but he pushed her back and hit me on my stomach. I screamed loudly. He dragged me in the washroom and closed it from outside. I screamed and shouted for some moments and then faint. Renu had opened the door I remembered. She has taken promise from me to not say about this to anyone and she will eventually forget everything.
But from that day she was living her life in depression. I tried every day to make her happy again but she just pretends. I love her and if they were thinking that’s my child than I’ll take her responsibility, I thought. Something disturbed my thought line.
Renu had recounted everything to her mother. I heard those words of pains and truth. I turned back and saw her mother holding her daughter very tightly and pressing kisses on her face, suggesting her that she should to tell everything immediately to her.
“Sahib, Sahib,” He shouted softly, “Give me money. The train arrived.”
I pull out my purse and give him the note of 100 rupees. He said he doesn’t have change of 100 rupees for the “Chai” of 4 rupees. I said keep it. He smiled and run away didn’t bother to ask why? Well, it’s because he shares the same age with my daughter. Today is her birthday and she is my own daughter. Renu had dropped that bastard’s Child.
