– Prologue –

No one understands me. No one will ever understand me like God. Always alone because you just have nowhere else to go. With the only hope I had being with a family that loves me gone because of the darkness that has enveloped me. And yet the only thing I can do is sit and wait in an orphanage that for some unknown reason doesn’t even want me here. The kids here say that no one will take me because of how ugly I am, my hair being too short, or how skinny I am. Over the past seven years I have actually come to believe in what they say about me. I gave up on my hopes when I turned eight, when all the kids that hated me and made fun of me where picked by a lovely family while I stayed. Soon enough new kids showed up and I thought I could start over by making new friends, but they would treat me wrong and throw me out of their groups. I became harsh and sarcastic not letting anyone care for me but Miss Starla, the only one that could look me straight in the eyes since I was six.
My name is Gabrielle and my parents died when I was six, caused by this enormous unnatural storm that some say I should have died in. Miss Starla told me that there was always an incredibly great reason as to why I’m still alive today and that I should be proud of that and I did, but I never believed in the things she said about me.
Now that I’m in the situation I’m in I really wish I would have listened to him
“Prepare the girl for execution.”
Because now I’m being put to death for what I am to become.
