“This will be the last time you will have to submit to anyone, again,” Destiny assured as she rubbed Kline’s shoulders.
Destiny left by Kline’s side and went next to Dylan. She lifted Dylan’s upper torso so he could face Kline in the knelt position.
“You need this, Dylan,” Destiny said. “It’s alright. Right, Lawrence?”
“Let me be you first,” Kline offered.
“What…what…do I have to do?” Dylan asked faintly.
“Feed!” Destiny’s eyes light up and changed colors again.
Kline moved his head so the right of his neck was fully exposed. Dylan could almost smell Kline’s scent. It was intoxicating. Dylan’s teeth started to tingle.
“Owwwwww!” Dylan bellowed as two fanged molars started to grow from his gums. It hurt like hell but the pain was soon replaced by more thirst.
Dylan could almost hear Kline’s blood pumping through the veins in Kline’s neck. It had its’ own heartbeat and it was pulsating louder and louder. It was almost as if Kline’s blood was calling out to Dylan. Dylan started salivating like a hungry dog.
“Feed!” Destiny encouraged Dylan moving Dylan’s head forward.
“I…I…”Dylan wanted to so bad but he still felt conflicted.
“No more words,” Destiny said. “Just feed.”
Dylan’s fangs felt like they were stinging his gums in anticipation.
“Please, Dylan, do it,” Kline said a tear ran down his cheek. “You need it. I need it.”
Dylan looked at Kline’s face then at Kline’s neck, Kline’s juicy succulent neck that held the very essence that made us being. Blood was the essence of life. You needed it to live…you needed it to grow. Wherever there is no blood circulating, there is no life. That area becomes numb. Dylan’s whole body felt numb and he needed to fill the void. He needed to feel alive.
Dylan opened his mouth and bit down hard on Kline’s neck. Kline started screaming in pain but Dylan never let up. Dylan’s eyes began to turn red. Dylan started feeling stronger as every ounce of blood drained from Kline’s body and entered his.
“Yes, yes!” Destiny started to yell as if she was having a massive orgasm just watching the transaction. “Feed, baby. Feeeeeeeedddd!!!”
Kline was losing consciousness and was now trying to push Dylan off of him before Dylan took all his blood. Kline was getting weaker and finally his arms just dropped to his sides.
Dylan finally released Kline’s neck from his fanged grip. Kline just dropped to the floor. Dylan got up, blood dripping from his mouth, eyes bloodshot red. He looked down at Kline then turned his sights on Destiny.
“Welcome home, baby,” Destiny said looking at the new Dylan. “Welcome back.”
chapter 3: the explainationChapter 3
Dylan felt better than he ever felt before. He felt more than great, he felt invincible. Destiny couldn’t wait to tell her new lover Dylan all about his new powers and how to use them.
“First of all, don’t believe none of that shit you saw or read in that bullshit Twilight Saga and Fright night bullshit,” Destiny explained. “Our kind is far too superior for mere mortals to understand, that’s why they try to simply shit and make it look stupid. Except Underworld, I actually looked the bitch they got for that movie. Reminds me of me but anyway, back to what I was saying. Our kind don’t live in coffins and we aren’t afraid of garlic, some may be allergic, maybe, but I love that stuff, especially on Italian bread. Second of all…” she glanced at the upside crucifix. “That cross shit don’t work on us. You can’t be afraid of something you don’t believe in.”
“So…so…I’m a…”Dylan was trying to conclude. “A vamp…”
“Let me finish,” Destiny continued. “Freak what you heard about us being undead like we some stupid zombies. We are much alive and living. We can eat regular food like anybody else. We can live normal lives like anybody else. We only need blood for pure energy. We don’t need it every day just enough to survive and remain strong. We not uncivilized monsters that dwell around looking for victims in the middle of the night to suck their blood. No, we are very well organized and very resourceful. We select donors to help our needs. People like your friend here volunteer to help us feed. Some donors do it with the false belief that will turn themselves or be accepted into our society. Truth is, no can be turned. That shit in the movies and books is bunk. If a snake bit you, you wouldn’t turn into a snake. You was just be hurt and bleeding. The same rules applies. You either born a certain way or you’re not. All of us has the gene sine birth but it has to be awakened in us or brought out. Most receive awakenings through rapid distress, a traumatic experience, a revelation or like the way I awaken you. There’s other ways I can’t even name but once you have awoken to your true nature, you start seeing things in a whole different light. Her senses heighten. Your way of being transforms. Also get that silly notion out your head that you will burn up in the sunlight. The sunlight does the same to every human in the world, it burns your skin. We are extra sensitive to sunlight but that can be contained with sunscreen and sun glasses. And that stake in the heart bit. Well, that’s true if someone drives a stake in your heart, you will die. But shit, unless you Superman or from the planet of superheroes, anybody drives a stake to any living being’s heart is going to die. It’s a freaking sharp pointy stick going through your fucking heart.” She laughed.
“Can I fly?” Dylan mused.
“Like I said we vampires not Superman,” Destiny remarked. “We can’t transform into bats, and we don’t grow wings out of our back like some damn arch angel. We are regular people that’s just above average. That’s it.”
“Doesn’t seem so thrilling,” Dylan sound disappointed.
“Trust me, it’s beyond thrilling,” Destiny said. “You will soon see.”
Dylan nodded absorbing all the power conducting throughout his body.
Dylan looked at Kline who was still laid out on the floor in a coma state.
“What about him?” Dylan asked about Kline.
“What about him?” Destiny snickered. “He’s a blood slave.”
“He’s gonna rat,” Dylan informed. “He’s going to tell…”
“A slave knows its place but we can fix that,” Destiny smiled. “We can fix that real good.”
“Where do I go from here?” Dylan inquired. He still had so much to learn
“Back to your life just anew,” Destiny replied. “You’ll know what to do. Your real senses will kick in.”
Dylan lifted his leather jacket off the floor.
“I’ll take care of him,” Destiny assured. “Just go and enjoy the night. And be careful, now that you are awaken, you’ll start seeing many more like us. But they may try to lure you astray so be careful.”
Dylan nodded. He was ready to see the world in a new light.
“What about you?” Dylan asked. “Won’t you need a ride…”
“I can always find my way around,” Destiny laughed. “I mean come on, look at me. Do I look like I will have a problem getting around?”
Dylan laughed with her.
“I guess not,” Dylan replied. “I bets to go get home. Feels like I’ve been out for days.”
“It just seems that way.”
“But I feel so different.”
“Good, because now you really are.”
Dylan smiled. “Yeah.”
Destiny watched Dylan leave and then looked at Kline.
“Poor, poor Lawrence,” Destiny knelt down in front of Kline’s body. “A lot of people are going to miss you.”
