Recap:

Ashanti is known as a “failed summoner” because she is unable to summon anything when she reached fifteen. Four years later and she is still bullied by summoners who were lucky enough to be able to summon a beast. This drives Ashanti into the darkness where she is stuck in. She cannot get out of the darkness caused by bullying, but one night when she was releasing her pain, a human named Chase appears. He is her only light and hope for getting out of the darkness. The three summoners, Mikael, Lin, and Alexia, appear and try to harass Ashanti again, but Chase stands up to the bullies and slams the door when they try to threaten them. Chase brings hope to Ashanti by protecting her from the bullies’ attacks. The next day, Chase is looking around his new home when he’s confronted by Ashanti’s older brother Lucas who seems to want to train Chase to fight in the cage fights known as the “Uncaged Beasts” event. Chase is suspicious of Lucas’ intent, but he only rambles about not being a proper older brother and being there for Ashanti before walking off. Chase takes Ashanti to the signup sheet while ignoring the three bullies from earlier. After signing up for the tournament he trains with Lucas to prepare for the first round. Chase makes a deal with his competitor and faces his enemy with poison knives. Chase wins his first three-fight with dirty tactics. Now he has advanced to his fourth fight.

Chase used his dirty tactics to fight his fourth opponent, Lucas. Lucas’s beast is a three-headed dragon. Chase’s dirty tactics didn’t help him win the battle with an unknown beast. He was slaughtered by Lucas. Ashanti walked away from the battle midway in. She was disappointed to see Chase losing. Chase walked away from the fight with his head high. He wasn’t disappointed to be defeated, because he was able to defeat the three bullies.

An hour after the ‘Uncaged Beasts’ tournament ends Chase sits on the steps outside of Ashanti’s house. He could hear Ashanti moving stuff inside the house. “What is happening?” He thought. He then heard footsteps in front of him. He focused his attention on the footsteps and the person they belonged to.

“Hey Chase,” Lucas said. “How are you feeling?”

“I’m fine. Your sister is the one I’m worried about.” Chase said.

“Yeah, I know. Anyways I’m here to give you this.” Lucas handed over the Jagged Edge Dagger to Chase. 

“You can’t give me this!” Chase shouted.

“If you are going to protect my sister then you must have a proper weapon,” Lucas said. “Think of it as an investment. You can pay me back by protecting Ashanti.” Lucas compromised.

“...Fine,” Chase said. “I’ll take it for now, but I will pay you back later.” 

“Thanks, I’ll see you later,” Lucas said. He walked away.

Half an hour later, Ashanti left the house and walked up to Chase with bags full of clothes.

“Where are you going?” He asked.

“I’m leaving the village.” She declared.

“Why?” He asked.

“There is nothing left for me here.” She said.

“Where are you going?” Chase asked while getting up from the steps.

“Outside of the village. I want to explore the world outside.” She said.

“Well, then I’m going with you.” Chase declared.

“Thank you,” Ashanti said. “Let’s go.” 

Chase nodded and packed his stuff. He joined Ashanti as she left the village and her memories behind. To start a new journey.

One thing I would’ve changed would have been making Ashanti a stronger character instead of a gloomy, depressed, and weak character. Thank you guys again for reading this series.
