me the truth about Jonah now” he asks gently while taking my hands in his.
I look down at our joined hands, I have never lied or kept secrets from my brother before we have always been very close, but I didn’t want to share Jonah with him just yet.
“I don’t know what’s going on its just that he always seams to be there” I tell him not out right lying but not completely honest either.
“Fine don’t tell me” hurt lacing his voice “but when the shit hit’s the fan don’t come running to me, see you in 4 hours” he adds then turns his back and leaves.
“Dam” I scream. I don’t know what I’m doing.
“Get a grip Lily” I say to myself as I prepare for the meeting.

The time I had before the meeting I used to test my powers nothing had really changed I felt a little stronger and I didn’t tire so easily but that was about all. I examined my wings and they did really look beautiful black flecked with red feathers.
My mind also kept wandering back to Jonah and what his plans were for me. The thing is that he keeps telling me that I fascinate him, the feeling is mutual. He had appeared the last few times I had been on my own and silently I hoped that he would again this time but he didn’t and my heart ached with disappointment. I had changed my clothes into my usual hunting leathers and armed myself. I strapped my last knife to my ankle when mom appeared.
“Ready” she asked looking me up and down then nodded in approved.
“Yep” I reply, she takes my hand and we disappear to reappear in the meeting place. For the meeting they had chosen a clearing in a wooden area not to far from my cottage. Looking around me it looked like the clearing from my dreams where I had first met Jonah and Eve, dismissing it as coincidence I look around me again. Mom was here and so was Alexander. Alexander is the current leader of the vampires. He is tall narrow build but full of muscle, shoulder length blonde hair. A real smooth talker and a ladies man. He had also been my lover about 100 years ago and my brother hated him with a passion. Mainly because of our break up and the fact that I found him in bed with several other women all at the same time. Luc would have staked him if not for me begging for his life and the fact that Luc would have then been sentenced to death under our laws for an unlawful killing, especially since he is a major player in our world. He smiled hesitantly at me before resuming his conversation with Tobin
Tobin was a middle aged looking man military hair cut, square jaw, well built, shorter than Alexander but only just. Tobin was also a shifter, I didn’t know him well but he had always been friendly.
Sebastian was here and on seeing him I walk over to him, he was beautiful to look at but not as beautiful as Jonah. He was a mage who I have known my entire life and was a close friend of our mother. I also had a huge crush on him for most my entire adult life. As I approach he opens his arms and embraces me.
“How’s my favourite girl” he asks and I hug him back. His words always used to make me feel special but not this time another thing that Jonah has taken away from me.
“Fine Seb” I tell him pulling back from him. He looks over my shoulder to my wings which were pulled in tight but still could see the new redness to them.
“what’s this then” he said as he stroked down my wings this always made me tingle and I’m sure he knew it and did it on purpose, he quickly pulled back if shocked. I remembered that I had shocked Luc as well when he had touched them.
“Open them” he instructed. I huffed but complied spreading them wide.
“Beautiful” he said huskily and reached out to touch them, he must have changed his mind because he quickly withdrew his hand. I turned to look at him and he was staring up at them in wonder. Please don’t like me back now when it’s too late I think to myself. He eyes run down my wings edge again making them shiver in response to his stare. Realising I was responding to Sebastian I step back putting some space between us, causing him to frown at my retreat.
“How are you?” I ask.
He looked at me a little longer before answering “fine love” he replies “what’s happened to your wings Lily” he wonders.
“My powers have grown that’s all” I reply not wanting to get into the full storey with Sebastian. He didn’t seam to believe me with the doubtful expression on his face but didn’t call me out on it.
“Who else is coming?” I ask looking around me seeing Luc and waved him over to me.
“Elizabeth, Vince and the usual entourage for us fearless leaders” he says whispering in my ear making me laugh. Luc approaches as I get myself under control and chuckles along side me clearly having heard what Sebastian had said, see super hearing comes in useful sometimes.
“Elizabeth was the most powerful witch in the country, and Vince was head of the werewolf packs and frankly I didn’t know a lot about them, I had never had any dealings with them as they tended to police their own closely.
“Everyone here I think” I say as I look around.
“Not yet the angels have formally asked for a few representatives to be attending to present their case” Luc answers me.
“Shit” slips out my mouth before I stopped myself.
“Yep that’s about right” he agrees.
Elizabeth walks into the clearing followed minutes later by Vince both very series expressions on their faces. I looked around and saw that everyone except perhaps Alexander looked serious and even he looked more controlled than usual.
I look up to see the sky above was dark and overcast, great I thought it going to rain. I was glade Elizabeth was here at least she would be able to cast a spell to keep us dry or I hoped anyway. I noticed 4 specks in the distance and recognised them straight away; Luc had also spotted them as I could feel the tension radiating from him. Sebastian placed his hands on my shoulders offering comfort; I shrug them off turning to look at him in confusion. He just smiled at me and looked back at the now landing angels.
The four most beautiful beings in my life had landed and every person in the clearing stood there in ore of them. It didn’t take Luc and I long to snap out of it to welcome our angelic guest. As soon as we moved towards them it was as if the spell had been broken and our version of normalcy returned to the clearing. Sebastian came with us to great them.
“Uncles” Luc addressed them giving them a slight bow.
“Uncle” I bowed low speaking only to Gabriel as he is the only one I every considered family and to be honest the only one that ever had anything to do with us. “Uriel, Seth, and Rafael I bowed to the other three not so low but enough not to be disrespectful. I glanced over at Luc who was rolling his eyes at me.
“Lily my favourite niece” Gabriel laughed pulling me into a tight hug and I returned it with as much strength.
“I missed you” I whispered in his ear for him alone, his arms tightened in acknowledgement of my words but he didn’t reply. I looked at the other and they had a look of disapproval on there faces, sighing I pulled myself away.
What you have to know about Gabriel when our father was recalled to heaven, he used to visit us when mother wasn’t around to make sure we were looked after, I don’t think he trusted our mother much being that she’s a demon. He replaced our father or should I say filled the gap until he returned. Gabriel is also the most senior of the angels present except for our absent father so basically they have to follow his lead. To be honest I don’t think all of the heavenly hosts are all too happy how close our relationship to him is, god hasn’t intervened so until he does they can all just live with it.
“How are you both” he asks genuine interest in his voice.
“Good” we both answer together making him chuckle.
“I am inclined to not believe you” he replies.
We both grin and just smile.
“Is Michael not attending” I ask him all smile leaving our little groups faces as I glanced across at mother who was in a deep conversation with Alexander.
“We are aware of what has passed between you all” he told us “and I thought that it would be best it Michael for now not be present at this time” he added.
I was relieved for mom sake and deep down my own as well. Also the fact that I didn’t know how Luc would have reacted to him being here.
We stood there a few moments in a silence until it was just bordering on the uncomfortable side when Elizabeth called the meeting to begin.
Our meeting are a little outdated but what happens is that all leaders form a circle and there three guardians or associates what ever they call them stand about 10 meters directly behind them and form a larger circle around them. This is promote a sense of equality, the outer circle is
