Read FICTION books online

Reading books fiction Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you don’t realize the full power of fiction. CHAPTER 1: MARIA AND THE NOTE

Have you ever thought that you could get a scar from lying? Well you can, at least in my world you can. So here’s my world for you.

My name is Em, I’m 15 and I myself have plenty of scars, some deeper than others. Here it’s not guilt we feel for lying, it’s pain. Guilt means nothing and even I still feel pain. Pain runs through my arms, legs, hands, everything. The bigger the lie then the deeper the scar. I have told many lies in life, some came with a greater cost. From what I knew, I had the deepest scar. That was, until I met a new person.

Some people learn from lying. Which are the weaker people in my mind. So the weaker people have less scars. I have never learned, I still lie. One day, I told the biggest lie anyone could tell, or so I thought. Not only did I get a deeper scar but my punishment was unbearable.

Hours later on Friday morning my eyes were struck open by a bright light. My eyes adjust and I see a building that was touching the sky slowly come into view. The car door creaked when I opened it. Swinging one leg then the other out. I was blinded and a wave of heat went through my body. Getting closer to the building I could see gates stretching out for hundreds to thousands of miles. A man, tall and dark, was next to me.

He pushed the gate open. He was in front of me. I turned and tried to bolt but he caught me. He shoved me to the gigantic door. That’s when I walked in. My whole life changed. I looked to my left a little girl sat alone. I walked up to her and saw the most biggest and deepest scar.

“Hi!” I exclaimed excitedly.

Silence and a devilish glare was all I got from her. She turned her head. When she turned her head an ocean of honey curls swung over her shoulder. She didn’t seem so little close up.

“So, what’s your name and how old are you?” I questioned.

“What’s it to you?”

“Well I was trying to be nice,”

“Okay,”

After that I just turned away. Wishing I had that same dramatic hair swing. I started to walk away.

“Maria and 15!” she called after me

I turned around to find a surprise. She was gone. It was like she was never there. I looked to the left and right but it was dead silent. I walked to the place I had last seen Maria. There was a note that scared me. The note was folded in half with me name on it. It also said KEEP in bold letters.

I picked it up out of curiosity. I was slowly turning the paper in my hand. Then, I stopped. I opened the note very gently. I finally had the note open and what I read scared me. On the note said,

Em, I know who you are. Whatever you do don’t listen to the man in black, or you will end up like me. I’ll try to come by as much as I can but it takes energy. You will understand everything soon but be safe and beware of…

Beware of what? That’s all I could think of.

“Em! Get over here!”

So the guard finally calls me. I shuffle my feet still frightened.

“Put some pep in your step girl!”

I was getting really tired of this guard. So, I just walked even slower than before. I could tell by his facial expression that he was getting irritated. I looked down and saw I still had the note. I casually put my hands in my back pocket. I slid the note in the right back pocket.

Then after a few minutes I finally made it to the guard. He wasn’t to happy with me.

“I’m here now,”

“This is Em, let’s just say she’s quite a handful,” the guard emphasized handful quite a bit.

“This girl will be in good shape in no time,” stated a man.

This man was shorter than me but was muscular. Dark brown, wavy hair with what seemed to be charcoal black eyes. He was very pale and the way he was dressed put me in shock.

He was the man in black. My heart heavily pounded against my chest. I was ready to turn and run but I stood my ground.

Whatever you do don’t listen to the man in black.

All that I could think of was that one warning. It repeated in my head constantly. Over and over again, nothing else came to mind. I didn’t even hear the guard talking to me.

“You answer me young girl, now!”

“What?”

“This man asked for your age, so I suggest you answer him!”

“Dang calm down, I-,” I paused not wanting to to tell him my real age so I lied, “I’m 13,”

“Very nice,” said the man in black, “I’ll show you to your room now, follow me,”

I followed him, the guard no longer behind me. We soon reached the room. There was a bronze plaque with a light brown block of smooth wood behind it. The name on the plaque said Maria.

“We haven’t cleaned out this room yet so anything you want go ahead and keep it,”

“Okay,” I was worried as to why he said that they haven’t cleaned the room out yet.

I walked in and saw another note on the bed. I turned around and the man was gone. I walked to the bed and picked the note up. Yet again it said my name and keep in bolded letters. I opened the note and read it.

CHAPTER 2: BRINGING UP THE PAST

Monday morning, the sun beats down on everyone. My body is numb and pain ripples through me. I wince at every sting on my body.

“I am not weak,” I tell myself, “I am not weak!”

Every morning my body goes numb as a warning. I ignore it and tell myself that I’m not one of the weak. The agonizing pain just runs back and forth all around. Every new scar I get the more pain strikes. It’s like I’m in a war with my body. I’m not losing but I’m not winning.

This is a battle I fight. No one knows what my life is like and no one knows what I have been through. This has been a continuous war going on for years. When will it end, I don’t know. All I know is, I’m not weak. I will never give in, I will prove that I’m better and stronger.

Extending my arms I yawn my eyes finally adjusting to the bright light. I swing my legs off the bed and let them hang. I continue to just lay there. Still a little numbness in my body I force myself up. I start walking over to my closet. The first few steps I take, I stumble.

Trying to keep my balance I reach out for the closet. Slowly I lose the feeling in my legs. It creeps up my body, suddenly going through my arms. I haven’t reached the closet yet, wobbling my way over I panic. I couldn’t think straight. My body shakes, struggling to stay up.

My vision was getting blurry. I blinked and saw a person. A girl actually.

“Who are y-” I didn’t finish my sentence.

I couldn’t finish my sentence. It was like my mouth was sealed. My vision went blurry. The last thing I remember was the girl. I couldn’t do anything, my body froze. I couldn’t see anything. I couldn’t hear or touch. I was weak at this moment. NO, this had to be a dream. I was dreaming, I had to be be.

After what felt like 20 minutes of a dream, my eyes finally opened. White, white walls, white ceiling, white floor, white everything. Where was I? I tried to move my head but a burning hot pain stabbed me. I tried once again but the same stabbing pain hit me. I saw a movement out of the corner of my eye.

“Who is that?”I got no answer so I called out again, “who is there? Answer me!”

Why were they not answering me? The person finally came over. It was my mom. Why had she not answer me? She wasn’t even facing me. I realized that I moved and was no longer laying down.

“Mom! I’m right here,” I called out, “can’t you see?  I’m here I’m fine let’s go home!”

I was yelling at this point and she still didn’t hear me. I looked to see what she could have thought was more interesting than me. I really thought I was dreaming now. What my mom was looking at, was me. I was on the white bed. I looked at my mom and she was looking at me.

“Mom, can you see me now?”

“Doctor, how is she?”

                                         â€śMom?”

“We aren’t for sure yet,”

                                         â€śAren’t for sure!?”

“Is my daughter going to be okay?”

“We hope so but she will have to stay here,”

I was confused and frightened. I didn’t know what was happening. Then I saw her. The girl that was in my room was here. She was staring at me. I walked up to her and she was gone. I looked around and she was there at my bedside. She reached down to touch my heart.

“I know who you are Em, you won’t live for long,”

Then, she was gone. I gasped for air and sat up. A rush of electricity and searing pain ran through my body.

“Doctor! Doctor! Anyone!”

“Mom? Can you see me now?”

“Yes I can, everything is going to be ok just lay down,”

“Where am I?”

CHAPTER 3:THE SECOND NOTE

I walked in and saw another note on the bed. I turned around and the man was gone. I walked to the and picked the note up. Yet it again it said my name and keep in bolded letters. I opened the note and read it.

the girl in black. She is not to be trusted at all. She is evil and I have heard things. I hear that she wants to kill you. If you have seen her already then she knows how and when she will but she will...

Yet again it doesn’t finish. This note made no sense. Why did it start like this? I wondered if the two notes were connected. They both said keep in bolded letters. I took the other note out.
