Read FICTION books online

Reading books fiction Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you don’t realize the full power of fiction. Chapter 1

First Meeting

The world that once existed on earth was the underworld, but long ago a battle raged to possess heaven and the earth. The angels forced the demons back deep inside the earth, forming the underworld, a dark, gloomy place. The humans were at peace, protected by angels of heaven, six winged creatures that looked out for the humans and a thousand years passed.
A girl about twenty two stepped out of her apartment, wearing a pink sweater and a black skirt. She had long, black hair and blue eyes, walking down a street as people passed her.
@Selene!@ Someone shouted.
Selene turned around and saw a man with a white suit, blonde hair and blue eyes smiling. She could tell he had been running because he was panting hard.
AThere you are, I was looking everywhere for you.A he said.
He took her shoulder and walked into a park as he told her how his day had been. They sat on a bench, looked at the sky, and smiled. She shivered slightly and the man looked at her worried. She stood up, saw a little girl crying, and got a sorrowful look on her features.
ASelene what is it?@ He asked in worry.
She walked toward the girl and put her hand on her shoulder. The girl looked up at her sniffling as Selene smiled at her comfortingly.
AIt=s okay, go to your mom. Don=t be scared,A she said.
The little girl hugged her bear and smiled at Selene, fading away in a white orb. Selene watched it float up and smiled as she walked back toward the man.
AIt was a little girl=s spirit. I let it pass.A she said.
The man smiled and grabbed her hand as she smiled at him.
AThat=s amazing that you can see spirits and send them back. I wish I could see them,A he said happily.
She took her hand from his and sighed, opening her eyes sadly.
ANot all of the spirits are nice. Some are very dangerous. I=m afraid of them,A she whispered in a quiet voice.
He sighed and stood up as she did too. He grabbed her hand and kissed it, causing her to blush.
AI have to go, Selene,A he said and walked away.
AGoodbye Alex,A she said, smiling as he walked off.

It was almost night and Selene stopped by to buy some bread, it was night when she was walking home. She looked up at the stars, thinking about today and sighed.
AI like seeing spirits, but some are not friendly,A she thought and walked faster.
She rounded a corner and saw a huge demon. It had a long, green, skinny body, with sharp teeth and red eyes. She gasped and stepped back, dropping her bread. It looked at her and growled, her eyes widened as she gasped.
AA demon!,A she said shocked.
She didn’t think they existed, just a legend, an old bedtime story to scare kids. The demon took a step toward her direction, she gasped and started to run away. It growled more and rushed at her as she tripped. She saw it coming at her, closed her eyes and screamed.
She heard a gurgling, coughing sound and opened her eyes as she gasped, eyes wide. A man with black hair that went to his neck, a black vest, black, leather pants and brown boots was standing in front of her. He held the demon=s throat tightly, his fingers digging into it as black blood began flowing down her fingers.
AThis is why I hate demons, you=re all like this!@ He said calmly but angrily.
He took out a sword with his other hand, pulling it out slowly. It was skinny to the middle and grew wider, then skinner toward the end, silver and gleaming in the moonlight. The demon=s eyes widened as it tried to speak, but couldn’t. The man smirked and killed the demon in one slash across its chest and it turned to dust.
He put the sword back in its sheath and turned toward Selene. She trembled in fear as he walked toward her and knelt down, his blue ice eyes looking at her. His eyes moved to her ankle, which was bleeding a little.
AYour ankle=s broken,A he said calmly.
He took her ankle in one hand carefully and gently. She gasped when it didn’t hurt and he pulled out a bandage. He wrapped up her ankle and sighed when he was finished.
ADid that demon do that to you?@ He asked, looking at her.
She smiled at him and shook her head. His eyes widened a little and she looked at him confused.
AWhat=s wrong?@ She asked sadly.

He smiled at her and she smiled back as he helped her up. It was nice to be in his presence for some reason and she felt safe. He wiped the remaining blood off her ankle and she winced every now and then. He smiled sadly at her when he saw it was hurting her.
A Sorry, I=ve never done this before,A he said, smiling apologetically. She blushed under his gaze and smiled back. He gasped as he saw a huge gash on her leg and she winced when he touched it. He put one hand on her ankle and closed his eyes as she looked at him. She was surprised as his hand began glowing green, the wound healing.
She looked at him and he looked back, the green light illuminating his face. She looked at the glow and he removed his hand.
AWhat are you?@ She asked, fearful a little and curious.
He drew back a little as he noticed the fear in her voice and looked away, eyes closed.
AA demon that lives in the underworld and one of many that serves the king. I had to come up here and kill the demons who defied him,A he said.
He was done and looked for any more injures, finding nothing. He stood up as he held out his hand and she took his hand.
AAre you afraid of me?@ He asked a tinge of worry in his voice.
She looked at him as he helped her slowly to her apartment. A couple blocks ahead and they saw it in the moonlight.
AI=m not, I=m just shocked that you=re a demon,A she said, wincing as pain hit her ankle.
She gasped as he picked her up in his arms and blushed. He chuckled and she looked at him, liking that sound.
AYour ankle hurts,A he said.
He looked at her and he looked away the same time she did.
AHe=s a demon. It=s the first time I=ve seen one,A she thought.
He was in her house and put her on the bed, sitting down beside her. She pulled the blankets up, suddenly wary that he was alone with him.
ADo you need anything?@ He asked, putting his hand on hers.
@What=s your name?@ She asked curiously.
He smiled as he stood up, grabbing her hand and looking at her. She didn’t even know demons could be kind, especially one like this.
ADemetri Lone,A he said.

He disappeared and she sighed, letting the tension leave her. She thought about what had just happened and wondered why it happened tonight of all nights. Demetri walked up some stairs and opened a pair of double doors, walking into a brightly lit hall.
ADemetri welcome back. Did you kill it?@ The demon king, Shin, asked.
Demetri went to one knee and smiled, putting his hand over his heart as his eyes closed.
AYes, my king,A he said.
Shin smiled and Demetri walked to his room, looking over the sunset horizon. He laid down on his bed and looked at the ceiling as he thought of all the missions he had done. Three months passed and he was still in the demon world. He got up and gripped his head as teeth clenched, eyes shut.
AWhy is this human affecting me this much?@ He thought in frustration
He got up and walked down the hall, stopping as he saw an oracle on the wall and a saying. It said “a demon on rare occasion falls in love with an angel, because he knows that her purpose is to save the world.” He scoffed at it and went to the human world to look for Selene. He was by a park and hid behind a tree when he saw her.
She was with Alex and he was sitting by her side, eating ice cream. Other people were feeding birds or watching their kids. She tripped and Alex caught her as her ice cream fell. She thanked him and gasped as a pulse went through her.
She turned toward the tree and saw him as he jumped down from the tree.
AAlex I have to go,A she said and started to walk away.
Alex got angry as he saw Demetri and gripped her wrist, slamming her into a pole as she yelped.
ASelene, how can you be friends with a demon? You can=t trust those devils in human skin!@ He shouted angrily as he raised his hand.
She gasped as he was about to slap her, but Demetri caught it. Alex gasped and so did she in shock.
AThink twice before you touch her, I=ll make you regret it,A Demetri growled, eyes glowing a little.
Alex gasped and ran away. Demetri looked at her as she looked back and smiled a little. She had wanted to see him and thank him, but didn’t=t know where he had gone.
ADeY.Demetri,A she said.

He embraced her as she cried on his chest, pain going through him. These feelings were overwhelming him, he hated that, but he couldn’t help it. He tilted her chin up and wiped away her tears smiling.
AHow long have you been here?@ She asked, walking toward the bench.
He sat by her and she leaned against his shoulder as he looked at her.
@A few hours.A He remembered Alex and gritted his teeth as his eyes shut. AWhen I showed up and he was there. I tried my best to bare it, but I snapped,A he said, looking at his hand.
He gasped as she put her hand on his cheek. He put his hand on hers and tried to decide whether to do this or not. He leaned down, closing his eyes and kissed her. She gasped as her eyes widened, and then slowly closed them.
ADemetri,A she thought, moaning a little as his lips brushed against hers.
He wrapped his arm around her waist as she gripped his hand tightly, he gripped back. They parted panting and he brushed a piece of hair out of her face.
AI=m sorry. I shouldn’t haveY@ he couldn’t finish when a pulse went through him.
He looked at a mirror and Shin was there. Selene looked at it curiously as Demetri stood up.
AYes my king, I understand. I=ll be right there,A he said and put it in his pocket.
He looked at Selene as she looked back. He took her hand and helped her up. He didn=t want to leave, but he had a mission to do.
AI have to go,A he said.
She smiled and put her hand on his cheek, he put his hand on hers. APromise you=ll come back?A she asked.
He nodded and she leaned
