Chapter One

"Beep! Beep! Beep!"
I can't be bothered to get up.

"Beep! Beep! Beep!"
Still not getting up.

"Beep! Beep! Beep!"
Nope. Not this time, either.

"Beep! Beep! Beep!"
I'm just going to imagine it's the weekend.

"Beep! Beep! Bee-"
Huh? Why did my alarm clock turn off?

Suddenly, Blue's duvet was pulled of her bed, and a familliar voice that she heard every weekday morning ordered:
"Up, up, up! You need to get ready for school, my little cuttle-fish."
"Mom! Don't call me that!" Blue moaned.
"I won't if you get up," Mom bribed.
"Not falling for it. You said that last time," Blue retorted.
"No I didn't!" Mom exclaimed.
"And the time before that. And before that. And the morning before that one..." Blue continued on saying how many times her Mom had said she wouldn't call her a 'little cuttle-fish' if she got up.
"Ugh, well it's time for school. Just get up!" Mom shouted.
"Oh, okay," Blue agreed.
"Finally!" Mom sighed.
"Actually, no," Blue objected stubbornly.
She hopped back onto the bed, and clung on to it. Her Mother pulled and pulled at her deep-blue, long, skinny tail.
"I'm. Not. MOVING!" Blue cried.
"You leave me no choice," Mom said. "Pinch!"
A giant crab scuttled into the room, and jumped onto the bed.
Blue leaped out of bed and hurried to the door. She went downstairs, grabbed a strip of seaweed filled with scrambled staghorn coral, and changed as she scoffed her breakfast.
Now I know why it's called breakFAST.

She thought.
She slipped on a scruffy, purple, long sleeved top with several holes and grabbed her geeky, thick rimmed, black glasses.
She swam as fast as she could through town, heading towards school.
I am going to be in SO much trouble.
