"True enough, but this is a magical place," Leo said, "and I'd rather take my chances in the freezing cold than here."
"Stop wasting time and look for the blue lotus," Louie said and ran off.
"He's right," I said, starting to follow him. "Let's find it first and we'll decide later."
The fact the giant was still nowhere to be seen was alarming, though I couldn't help but feel a bit better now that my body was returning to its normal temperature. I scanned the slight slope of the small valley we were standing on but could see no movement. At least nothing before the beginning of another winding path, leading up to the top of another finger.
"Louie, can you levitate and have a look?" I asked.
"I'd better save my mana in case something happens," he replied.
"He's right," Leo said, turning a couple of stones only to find worms and mushrooms underneath.
"Keep yer eyes peeled for the giant," Rory said as he rushed all over the place, searching for the flower.
"It's a little hard to miss one," I said as I kicked another rock to the side.
We spent the better part of an hour searching the small valley for a blue flower, but the closest we got was a couple of daisies. Our search on the finger was nearing its end when I noticed a large circular gray boulder that seemed to be covered in frost. I moved around it, examining it, and noticed that the ground it was resting on had shifted.
Looking up, it was possible that the boulder had fallen from one of the higher mountain-levels above, which would explain why the giant was nowhere to be found. But it didn't make sense that the large stone was still frozen.
"Rory, can you give me a hand with this one?" I said as I put my back against it.
It was cold to the touch and the moment I pushed, it budged slightly. However, as soon as Rory approached, the rock did more than budge a bit. For it was not a frozen boulder at all.
The earth trembled and snow fell in chunks from the above as what I'd thought was a rock moved up and out of the ground, revealing the top part of a gigantic bald head.
"Little hard to miss a giant, ye said!" Rory shouted as he grabbed me by my arms and pulled me back. "No flower here. Run."
The giant caused a massive avalanche of snow from the higher levels but by the time he'd pushed himself up and out of his hiding place, we were already making good progress up the spiraling slope leading to the next part of the mountain. I barely had time to glance at the giant behind me before the path turned away and my view was blocked.

Description : This ice giant has lived atop Mount Palm for hundreds of years, only climbing down from its unreachable peak to hunt before falling back into deep hibernation. It is a solitary being, though it attracts lesser creatures that can provide protection while it is resting.
"Something's not right, guys," I said as we ran around the slope hugging the next finger. "That was a raid boss."
"One we can't fight," Rory said. "Remember the damn rules, half-Celt."
"That's not what I mean," I replied, as an even stronger snowstorm started lashing at our faces. "A raid boss without minions? And the giant wouldn't have gone back to hibernation immediately after attacking us."
"You mean--" Leo said, but was interrupted by a stone hitting him right in the chest.
The hit was enough to knock him back, but his total HP dropped only slightly in the party stats view. Thankfully, our attackers didn't have gravity on their side anymore and were just catapulting rocks at us. However, there were at least four of them and by the crashing sounds behind us, the raid boss was moving our way too.

Description : Ever-elusive, yetis are spread far and wide across the realms, forming small communities in the most remote and difficult-to-reach peaks of mountains. This particular species was once part of a more civilized community, but were forcibly removed while still young and unable to communicate. The yeti cubs were raised to adulthood by the ice giant Yolgir as animals broken to servitude.
Rory deflected a large rock that was hurled our way while I picked Leo up. Louie stepped forward to heal him, but Leo shook his head in denial before Louie was able to start casting.
"Not yet. You'll be wasting mana," Leo said, and raised his shield. "Behind me. I can take these hits."
We did as he bid us and fell in formation. Once again I picked up Louie, since the snow was now piling even higher than before, and he cleared the way with his Gale Blast. We were moving as fast as the onslaught of rocks hurled at Leo's shield would allow, but I had no plan as to where we were heading. There were four enemies in front of us and a fucking raid boss closing in from behind.
Louie's next spell opened another corridor for us to walk through. The snow was now piling higher than our heads and yet the yetis were somehow able to stand and walk on top of it, without sinking in. The next gale that Louie launched, however, didn't travel as far as his previous ones.
Instead, it stopped with a bright flash and a sweet chime echoed through the howling winds, momentarily quieting everything down. The yetis, the wind, the giant--they all paused for
