“Aiden,” Mrs. Alves started to cry tears of happiness, hugging him. “I’ve talked to the authorities and-.”
“I know Mom,” Aiden said in a depressed tone. “I could end up in juvenile, if so, whatever is right for me and you. I understand, whatever it takes.”
“Aiden,” his mother was stunned by what he said. “You won’t end up in juvenile, you will not. You just need some therapy a couple of times a week, while I gotta do it too, so I am fit to be a parent to you.”
“Really?” Aiden said.
“Yes,” his mother smiled. “That’s all you will need; they understand that you did what you did to defend me. I love you a lot, I know deep down, you are a good boy. I’m sorry that you had to go through that hardship your entire childhood and throughout your life.”
“Don’t be sorry Mom,” Aiden said. “It’s not your fault. I don’t know what I would’ve done if I did not get these abilities.”
“I am sure deep down, you would have at least tried even without them,” Mrs. Alves said. “But how on Earth did you kids get these extraordinary abilities? Are you Superior-Beings?”
“Neither of us know unfortunately,” Aiden replied. “We aren’t Superior-Beings. We all simply woke up with these abilities, with words in our head saying Stellar-Beings. I think we were chosen for a reason Mom, since we proved our honesty and courage in this world, I guess. Like I said, I’m not sure how we got these abilities.”
“Stellar-Beings…,” Mrs. Alves spoke the words slowly. “That’s very intriguing and interesting.”
The rest of Aiden’s friends reunited with their families, having similar conversations that he had with his mother. They all decided to go home and relax. Their parents told them the second half of school was cancelled due to the two attacks that occurred at school. They all walked back to their homes while wondering what the school meant by two attacks, not one. What could have been the second reported attack in the school other than the one by Vanrod/Oddball?
Kaleidoscope Girl
Chapter 1
Sandra Richards
Date: September 7th-8th, 2020
The classroom was silent for quite a while until a curly blonde-haired girl answered: “Single derivatives for finding the inflection point and double derivative for finding the concave up or down status. Like if f ‘’ (x) > 0, thus therefore the concavity is positive.”
Mrs. Jones was astonished and commented simply; “Great job Sandra.”
Sandra with her Helvetica Bold type of glasses stroked her curly blonde hair that was wavy, trying to make them look straight as possible. She sat there with the Advanced Functions textbook, as she was swiftly writing notes as she read through the textbook, which allowed her to catch up ahead of the content the teacher was teaching. The boys in class began to comment the words “geek” and “nerd” randomly after Allison and Sandra answered questions in class only which convinced the teacher to have those boys answer the questions from now on. This made Sandra smile indefinitely, she was a very bright girl and very geeky like. She even decided to get Helvetica Bold glasses just to inspire her appearance based on the Geek Girl book cover for the fun of it as she was a big fan of the fictional book series itself, which did suit her a lot.
After Advanced Functions class ended, she heads towards English class and sat down at the far-right side of the classroom as always. She preferred to be alone, not with anyone she was unfamiliar with, since she did not want anyone to potentially sneak and peak at her notes, while she was reading ahead of the teacher. As the English teacher was discussing the course outline, Sandra started to read Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland to have the time pass by quicker. She really liked the book a lot. She read almost 40 to 50 percent of the book by the time class ended, to be able to kill the time and boredom of the English class introduction and outline of the course.
She heads to the main foyer as lunch break began, saw a bunch of tables setup with surveys, student council, football team sign ups, etc. She looked around, as many students were filling up surveys, signup sheets. It was school orientation happening during the lunch break between classes. She was keen on becoming student president if possible, to help make change in the learning environment for the students of Allentown High. She saw pairs of kaleidoscopic glasses on one of the tables in the foyer, which attracted her attention.
As she approached that specific table, which had a couple of students sitting there, she saw survey papers that had to be filled out, which were not mandatory. She examined the set of kaleidoscopic glasses. It was crystal black rimmed, with the eagle wing shaped edges sticking out at each end of the lenses. Before she could wear them, the students at that foyer table stopped her.
“Mind if you can fill a survey of ours?” a student spoke. “Then we will give you this pair of nice glasses.”
“Alright,” Sandra said and grabbed their clipboard and pen and started to fill up the survey. The survey had plenty of questions, about 25 questions in total, some were multiple choice, some were short answers, etc. The survey was based on extracurriculars you were interested in, what would you do for this school, improvements, favorite subject, and many other aspects of school related stuff.
She filled up the survey and gave it back to the students. She received the kaleidoscopic glasses and wore them. She could see the entire world in terms of kaleidoscopic view, which showed many recursions of fractals forming back and forth as she shifted her head back and forth and sideways, with vibrant colors displayed as if it
