we let a man see us naked. Thenmake sure you practice your alphabet to loosen the muscles in yourface.” I started empathising the letters ‘A’ and ‘O’ opening mymouth wide, suggestively. “When was the last time you sucked cock? It’s been a while hasn’t it? You would’ve told me, otherwise.”

She sheepishlylooked away. “Fuck off.”

“Yeah, Ithought as much.”

“Well, I’m nottelling you anymore.” She walked past me and pushed the door openback out onto the rooftop.

“Oh yes youwill. I want a phone call first thing tomorrow morning.”

Bryce and Idrove to my former house to deliver the kids to Rick for the nextfew days. He invited us in for a drink which we accepted, however,it was slightly strange sitting at my former dining table, in myformer house with my former husband. Strange as it was though, itwas exactly that...the former. The past. History. And in order tomove on from history, I needed to get the wheels of my divorce inmotion, I just didn’t know how to break it to Rick. Letting mynerves get the better of me, I decided to chicken out and tell himanother time, and as we made our way out of the house, Rick must’vepicked up on my withholding of information—he was always good atsensing my reluctance.

“Lex, you gota minute?” he asked, as Bryce and I stepped out the front door. I’dalready kissed the kids goodbye, and they were now out playing inthe backyard.

“Sure,” I saidhesitantly.

Bryce gaveRick a courteous nod. “I’ll wait in the car.”

Claire hadremained inside.

Once Bryce wasin the car I turned back to Rick. “What’s up?”

“You tell me?We might no longer be happily married, Lex, but I can still tellwhen you are stewing on something.” He leaned his weight on thedoor frame and crossed his arms confidently.

“Um...I justdidn’t want to do it like this,” I said sadly as I twiddled myfingers.

“Just say it,Lex.”

“AfterChristmas, I’m going to get Bernie to prepare an Application forDivorce.” I looked at him hesitantly but he didn’t flinch. “Oncethe application is complete, the process is fairly straightforward, and a hearing date will be set. You don’t have to attendthe hearing if you don’t want to.”

“No, it’salright, I’ll attend. Just let me know what you need,” he saidcalmly.

His placiddemeanour kind of threw me off a little. I’d half expected him tofly off the handle with anger then compose himself shortly afterand apologise like he normally would. But he didn’t, he justcasually accepted my information.

A confusedsmile started to creep across my face, forcing one on his. “Lex, Ithink you said to me a while back... ‘It is what it is’.”

I nodded.“Yeah, I did.”

“Well, youwere right. It is what it is. I lost you and you lost me. We can’tchange that, nor should we try. You are happy now, I can see that. And I’m becoming happy, too. Hopefully not before long you willalso see that.”

“I can seethat already, you know.”

“I’m gettingthere, Lex.”

“Good, Rick, because despite the past year, I want you to be happy.” I steppedup to the door jam and wrapped my arms around him. “Thank you.”

He hugged meback and the hug cemented that we held nothing more than mutualrespect for each other and a love that held no romance, just a deepfriendship. It was nice.

When I gotback into the car, Bryce reversed the Lexus out of the driveway.“Everything okay?”

“Yeah, I justasked Rick for a divorce.”

He turned hishead to me and paused, mid-reverse. “Are you sure he understoodthat?”

I laughed.“Yes, he has moved on, and so have I. I just want to make itofficial.”

He continuedto drive and asked casually, “So, when will it be official?”

“Shortly afterChristmas.”

The smile thatplastered his face gave me butterflies.

We arrived atCity Towers and found that Bryce’s keycard would not activate theprivate elevator.

“Fuckingstupid piece of shit,” he said as he typed in his securitycode.

“You’re prettyhot when you’re angry,” I declared, as I watched him frustratinglypush a numerical sequence. “Here try mine.” I handed him my card.It didn’t work either.

“Fuck!”

“Maybe youshould just get a key like the rest of the world,” I teasinglytaunted him.

He lifted hishead to meet my gaze then turned in my direction.

Automatically,I detected his carnivorous need, it rolling off of him in sexuallycharged waves, causing me to back up until my arse was pressedagainst the railing of the elevator cart. He strode toward me, thenstopped and pressed his delectable frame against my chest. I tookin a sharp, suspense-filled breath as he placed his hands on thewall on either side of my face, our eyes desperately searing oneanother’s.

My tonguegently moistened my lips then my teeth grated against them, knowingthat I would soon be tasting him. He growled harshly as he pushedhis palm into a panel and reached for the elevator phone, all thewhile keeping his hungry stare on me.

“Sam, myprivate elevator has malfunctioned, have Dale look into it please.Thank you.” He hung up the phone.

“So, are westuck here...together...for a while?” I asked innocently.

“Yes,” hereplied as his dropped his gaze down to my chest, my chestautomatically rising toward his stare.

“What are wegoing to do, Mr. Clark?” I purred, as I placed my hand over hisgroin, feeling his hard, thick erection.

His eyesclosed momentarily then shot open as I squeezed mildly. “I’m goingto fuck you, Hunny. I’m going to show you how much I adore you. I’mgoing to show you just how much I appreciate you being in my life. Then, I’m going to cement that you will never leave it. Ever!”

“Mmmm,” Ihummed, enjoying his possessive words while trailing my hands uphis chest across his white t-shirt and up to his neck. He draggedmy dress up to my stomach and hauled me into his arms where Ieagerly wrapped my legs around his waist, enjoying the fact I couldnow easily do that again.

He gripped myarse and thrust his tongue deep into my mouth, deliciously tastingall I had to offer him. His passion and ownership of me ignited ahungry need, driving me to desperation, a desperation that had mebiting down on his plump lip, pulling it away from his face beforeletting it go again.

He growled andcarried me into the basement garage, my flip flops falling off inthe process. “Tell me
