His lips met hers in passionate love. “Jill, I want you. Nothing is going to stop me from taking you this time.”
Jill’s ice green eyes turned into the half-closed bedroom eyes Damien came to love. “As you wish, my alpha.”
Damien couldn’t stop the feral side of him that wanted to make love to her so badly he almost tore her shorts and panties to pieces as he pulled them off. Holding Jill up with one hand he pulled his own shorts and underwear down to his knees freeing his full erection from its prison.
Jill licked her lips as her mate’s tip pressed against her slick folds. Her hands gripped the sheets in anticipation.
“Someone needed me, didn’t she?” That crooked grin that Jill loved so much fell across her lover’s face. He pulled her towards him until her lower back sat on the edge of the bed. His body was hot against her skin as he pressed into her. She clenched her teeth as the small, swollen opening struggled to take his full girth.
As he thrust into Jill, Damien let his thumbs caress the soft skin of her thighs, his face buried between her throat and collarbone.
She felt so hot inside. The velvet walls squeezed around him, taking every inch of him that they could. It was pure ecstasy. He decided to take his time, savoring every thrust of his cock. His hands fondled her breasts, making her nipples harden and turn to a bright red.
Sweat glistened on her hard stomach, now full with his children. Her raven hair spread out above her. Damn it, she’s so beautiful. She’s mine.
Damien leaned over, his breath hot in his lover’s ear. “You’re mine. All mine.”
Jill turned her head to the side to allow him access to her neck. As he peppered it with kisses. His fangs brushed against her porcelain skin.
Her voice labored, just above a whisper as she said his name. “Damien…”
Her nails dug into the muscles in his shoulder blades, making him growl with primal excitement. Not much longer and he would bury himself so deeply into her warmth she would never want him to leave.
Making love to Jill never felt awkward, it felt natural. As though her body were made for him as he was for her.
Jill’s screams as her orgasm hit her excited Damien. Her nails dug into his shoulder blade and back making him eager. He bit down on her shoulder, his fangs tasting her soft flesh as he pushed one more thrust into her. His own orgasm sending his warmth as far as he could go inside of her.
When Damien released his hold on Jill’s shoulder, her flesh was bruised. “I’m sorry, Jill.”
Laboring, Jill giggled. “It’s okay. I have longed for your fangs to find my flesh more often while making love.” Jill kissed Damien, gently nipping his lip. “Just so you know though, now that you’ve bitten, it’s free game.”
Damien swallowed hard, wondering just how much trouble he’d unanticipatedly gotten himself into.
Chapter Twenty-Seven
A hazy mist ghosted its way through the camp, a cold breeze signaling the sign of the coming of the winter storms. Damien shivered as he stepped out of the warmth of his tent. Wrapping his jacket tight around himself, he walked down to the stream to get some water.
Kain stopped him. “Good morning. Would you mind bringing me back some water so I can make breakfast. The pups are practically begging for flapjacks this morning. Woke me up at the crack of dawn.” He slightly laughed, handing Damien the black pot he usually used to make stew.
“Sure. I can do that.” Damien took a second to think before he asked what he wanted to since the fight with Nathaniel the day before. “Kain. May I ask you something?”
Kain’s head tilted to the side. A pup ran around his legs, begging him to pick it up. “Of course. Anything.” He fell to his haunches, picking the pup up before rising back to his feet.
“You still don’t have a beta, do you?”
“No, I hadn’t chosen one yet. Why?”
Damien ran his hand through his hair down his neck, looking at the ground. “I’m not ready to be an alpha. I don’t know the first thing about leading a pack. I want to learn more. Would you be willing to take me under your wing as your beta until I’m ready?”
Kain stood silent, his eyes widened in surprise. The pup snuggling into his chest had begun falling asleep in the warmth and comfort of his jacket. “I would be glad to. It would be an honor.”
“Thanks. I’ll be back soon.”

The pot almost finished filling with water when Damien closed his eyes, taking a deep breath as the familiar scent filled his nostrils.
He rose to his feet, turning his attention to the vampire that had made herself known despite the sun rising.
“Hello, Dame.” Chelsea stood in the shadows of the rocks to stay out of the sun’s light.
“Chels. I’m surprised to see you again. What do you want?” Damien’s sense of caution made him leery. He kept his back from being exposed to avoid a surprise attack.
Surprisingly, the look on Chelsea’s face was downtrodden. “I just wanted to see you again. I’m sorry for what I did the last time we saw each other. I still see you as a friend, Dame. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t give us a chance to be together. You know how much I still care about you. I know you do.”
“Chels, I’ve told you this so many times since we were kids, okay. I wasn’t ready for a relationship. I had too many things I had to deal with. You remember how long it took me to even say anything to you and
