Generous, loving,
Omnipotent, forgiving:
Divine attributes.
PeaceWaves wash ashore with a whooshing sound
above gulls circle round
their cries softly sound
seaward bound
peace
distant joyful sounds as children play
gentle touch of ocean spray
warm sun brightened day
all these say
peace
serene contented contemplation
awareness of all sensations
mindful meditation
concentration
peace
MindfulnessMindfulness--
focused, aware;
feeling, experiencing, breathing.
In the moment, all-encompassing tranquility,
contentment, serenity,
peace.
Between Reality and DreamIn that half dreaming state between sleep and wakefulness consciousness discerns not the line between reality and dream.
Morning’s light breaks through
as consciousness awakens.
Dream’s foggy mist fades
Wakefulness
(Taken from the first line of “Suicide is Painless,” the theme to M*A*S*H by John Mandel
“Through early morning fog I see.”)
Wakefulness breaks through,
as the Sun’s early
light heralds the morning.
Dream’s foggy mist
yields to reality I
can see.
Soul
One
Soul in all
sparks of the One Source
parts of the Universal
existing only
in the One
Soul.
SoulsLiving many lives
immortal souls strive
to reach
knowledge from those lives
as toward G-d they strive
and reach
for wisdom from strife
living each new life
they reach
Ocean Peacesoft whispering waves
sweet plaintive song of seagulls
happy mind at peace
Yom Kippur Prayer
May it be Your will, Lord,
inscribe my name,
and seal it, in the Book of Life
for a year of prosperity.
Inscribe my name,
that I may return to You
for a year of prosperity,
a year of health, good, and peace.
That I may return to You,
purify my heart and soul
for a year of health, good, and peace.
May it be Your will, Lord.
Blessed
Beyond all worthiness,
I have been blessed.
Even as I cursed my fate,
my faith tested beyond measure,
just when I was set to surrender,
I was blessed
to see a greater purpose
awaited me.
Looking back,
the past, that
testing ground of my faith,
was far better than I
thought.
Looking back from
where I now stand
I see my defeats;
I see my triumphs.
Family,
profession,
health,
contentment—
I am blessed to
discover
that what I once saw
as failure,
was merely a step
toward
blessing,
and now I see that
beyond all worthiness,
I am blessed.
Thoughts Like the Leaves of Autumn
Thoughts like the leaves of autumn
floating on the gentle breeze
blanketing the empty road
leave the mind serene
One on One
Alone in worship
solitary communion
one on One with G-d
Inspiring IsolationIn time of crisis, sans congregation,
no need to despair. Seek
one on One communication,
looking deep within, where
G-d hears private supplication,
find comfort there.
