“Kerri, get in the car” he said pointing to the other side of the car.
“Why?” I asked.
“Because I’m starving and neither you nor your mother have cooked, so get in the car”
“I have to get everything together for Jonathan” I really don’t I’ve been done with the cleaning.
“Kerri get what ready, the house is spotless and he doesn’t get here until eight, we have plenty of time” he explained and yet again he is right so I walk over to the passenger side and I slide into his black 2011 dodge charger and seeing as he had it customized with money that comes from who knows where. He has his last name Stackz engraved in the seats and he had the interior changed to this soft butter cream color. I relaxed as I adjusted in the seat. It’s just so soft. He slide in and turned on the car.
“I’m going to get my new stereo system put in sometime this week, I’m about to be booming down the streets” he said with excitement.
“I just don’t know what to say about you. Jalen, where is this money coming from?” I kind of already have a feeling of where I’m not as naïve as he thinks I am.
“Kerri don’t worry about all that just enjoy the ride” he says nonchalantly. After that I just sat back and was completely silent until we reached the light.
“Kerri” he spoke staring straight while speaking to me.
“What’s up captain” I say using his childhood nick name. He chuckled a little then got serious again.
“Do you think Layla and I should stay together?” why would he ask me that question.
“What do you mean?” I asked sitting up straighter.
“I know I’m putting you in a complicated situation but do you think we should stay a couple?” he asked and turned to look at me for a second he for he looked straight again to continue driving.
“To be honest Jalen you have to answer that for yourself, it all depends on how you both feel about one another”
“Kerri do you want me and her to be a couple” I turned and looked out the passenger window and bit down on my bottom lip before answering.
“I just want you both to be happy” and I turned back to look at him and he was just staring at me. His stare was different though he was staring at me like he wanted me. Maybe it was my imagination but I noticed he scanned my body up and down from my black all-stars to my thighs then my stomach to my chest then back up to my face. My body felt tingly and hot. I can’t believe that just happened. I was checking out my best friend, and the worst part is she knew. I’m not exactly sure yet but I think Kerri wants to be with me. I turned off my car and got out the car to follow behind her. The way that girl walks she should be a model. She doesn’t know how much sex appeal she has. She stops at the door of the soul food spot we go to and I open the door for her. She smiles and walked in. when where seated I feel the need to apologize.

“I’m going to get the rib tips, what about you?” she says and looks up at me from her menu.
“Huh, I um I think I'm going to get the steak and mashed potatoes with green beans”

“So it ain’t like I’m trying to watch my weight or something” she smiles and rolls her eyes playfully.
“I guess not” I say I guess she doesn’t want an apology.
“Jalen” she says looking back at her menu.
“What’s up?”
“It’s okay” she says and looks up at me in the sexiest way. What is going on with me? I smile and so does she. “So captain what’s for desert”
“How about their double chocolate, chocolate chip cake with the homemade vanilla icecream” I know that’s her favorite. He eyes light up like she was a kid in the candy store. I shake my head and chuckle.
“Shut up you know that’s my favorite” I get myself together before our waitress comes.
“Hey Jalen, Kerri what get I get for you two today?” the waitress Michelle says we’ve been coming here since we were kids. I tell her our orders and add on two root beers. When the food gets there we chow down no more talking to be said until we wait for desert.
“Jalen we can really share one desert that cake and ice cream comes really big.
“Don’t worry princess I got this” I say using her childhood nick name and she giggles.
“So when’s it coming I’m starving”
“Kerri you just finishes eating”
“Not desert”
“Man I forgot I was feeding an army when I’m with you”
“Jalen shut up” she said smiling while throwing her napkin at me. Just then the cake and icecream came. We both grabbed a spoon and ate. After we finished I paid for our meal and we headed back to the car. I noticed it was only 5:30.
“So what’s next, princess?”
“I don’t know we can go back to my house and watch a movie or something my mom went to go handle her business whatever that is before she goes to pick up Jonathan”
“Okay” I drive back to Kerri place and we go in and head straight to the theater in the basement.
“So what do you want to watch?” She asked.
“A throw back old school movie”
“Like love and basketball” I see all the excitement in her eyes.
“I guess” I laugh. She turned it and got us some candy from the candy bar. My family was never close to as wealthy Kerri’s family is. I had to struggle though our families have always been close and helped one another out its always been we were poor and they were rich. But it’s cool I love Kerri she’s family and we ain’t struggling as bad anymore. We watched the movie all the way to the part when they came home from the spring dance or whatever then things started getting hot. Kerri stared at me in the darkness and I stared back. She could feel it to I guess that’s why she stood up and went to the back room. I don’t know what took over me but I followed behind her. When I got to the room it was just as dark as the theater with a dim light on wall. I watched as Kerri lean against the wall with her head back and her eyes closed she too her leg and placed it at the back of the wall the sight was the sexiest thing I ever seen. She really should be a model. Her hair that reaches to the middle of her back was over her shoulder and those full lips just looked so kiss able. I just couldn’t take it any longer I stepped up to her sure not to make a sound. I took both of her arms and put them above her head. Her eyes opened slowly and darkened with seduction. I took both her arms into one of my hands still holding them over her head and I grabbed her leg with the other wrapping it around my waist.
