“The House on the Hill”
-the story of the Mistress Hotel
A Long time ago, in a place called Salem, on a dark, blustery hallows eve night, is where a married couple, Marie and Carol Johnson were getting their new assignment. They work for the mystery help company and they were just receiving a job to stay at house number 666 on North hill. A 97-year-old woman named Marry Ann occupied the house. She has been observing many paranormal phenomenon in the house and asked a church about who can help her and they gave here the phone number and address to the MHC (mystery help company). When she called she explained to them about all the strange things that were happening and that she didn’t know why because she has lived there for 79 years and it only started 5 years ago when she was 92. The Johnsons packed what they needed to do the job and got on the van on their way to Salem.
When the Johnsons got to the house; they rang the bell by the gate to let Marry Ann know they were there. The gates opened and the house was reveled. The house was big and made of stones. It had statures in the courtyard and vines going down the walls. The house looked very old. When they went into the house, Mary Ann was standing at the inside of the door waiting for them. After they rested, Mary Ann gave them a tour of the house. The living room was very big; it had wood flooring and white walls. There was a tan couch and two tan chairs and a coffee table. Then they moved on into the dinning room. The dinning room looked very ordinary except for the pictures on the wall of people in black and white. After that, they went to the kitchen. The kitchen was like any other you would find in a normal house. Then they went to the backyard. The backyard had a very pretty table with chairs around it. It had a flower garden and a vegetable garden. It had a very big orchard or different trees. Then they took a break, sat down at the table, and had some tea and sandwiches for lunch. After they ate, they went upstairs. The first room they went in was their room so they could unpack. This was only one room out of 16 others. Their room was very beautiful, it had two dressers; a king sized bed; and a fireplace about two feet in front of the bed. After they unpacked, they went down the hall passed six extra rooms until they got to Marry Ann’s. Her room was bigger than the living room. It had a king sized bed; a bookshelf; three dressers; a fireplace; a makeup stand; and a television. Then they went to the bathroom. It was huge, it had a big shower that had showerheads that hit from the top sides and bottom: it had a hot tub; a toilet made of gold; and a gold sink too. When the tour was over it was five at night and time for dinner. They ate a big banquet of vegetables; fruits; meats; and breads. After dinner, they set up a video and sound recorder in every room and outside. By the time they were done, it was eleven thirty at night so they went to bed.
They slept for at least seven hours before it started to grow very cold. The johnsons woke up to a cold room with two cloudy figures. They could see the faces and bodies of spirits walking around. It looked like the ghostly figures were walking around as if they were living there. They johnsons slowly got out of bed and went out in the hall. There were even more spirits in the hallway then there was in their room. They were all different. There was won that looked like a bellhop at a hotel. They went to check on marry ann. There were at least seven people in here room. Five looked like regular people and the other two looked like a maid and another bellhop. They left the room and went down stairs. The living room was filled of people. The dinning room was filled with rich looking people having dinner. The kitchen had a whole crew of chefs cooking all sorts of things and the backyard had people dancing and talking. They went upstairs and they seen a man that looked at them he yelled and said that they better leave or they will end up like the rest who lived there before him soon and then they all disappeared.
@fter the ghostly figures disappeared they collected all the sound and video clips they took and looked at them. The man they saw that yelled at them looked like a strong man with big muscles. He even had a gun in his pocket. When they were done looking at the clips they copied them and sent them to their company. After they sent the clips, Mary ann. awoke. The johnsons told her about what they have seen and about the man in the hall with the gun. When they told her this she said, “this place was once Mistress Hotel, but they shut it down for some reason it was in the newspaper along time ago, but I don’t remember why anymore I’m too old and I cant remember a thing, and at that time I was very young, but if you go to the library, they may have some newspaper clippings.” When she said this, they went to the closest library they could find. They asked the librarian about the hotel and she gave them a pile of newspapers with the front-page saying, “The Mistress Hotel…” There were all these different things after that title like shut down, rat infestation, no heat, brake in, robbed, and the last one said, “cursed!”
When they got back to the house they copied the newspapers and sent them back to their company. They looked through them and noticed that the newspaper that had the title cursed was not the whole thing it was ripped at the bottom. They read the rest and they said that all the steps: rat infestation, the hotel the lost heat, the brake in, and the robbery, were all signs that the curse was about to be finished. The curse said, “All who will be there, on that night, will die in a very painful death, there will be steps until this night and everyone in the hotel will die and their souls trapped forever.” When we read that, we knew we had to find the rest of the clipping of the newspaper with the title cursed.
When they called their company the next day they said they found the rest of the clipping of the newspaper. They sent a copy and they read it. They clipping said, “the souls will be released if someone gets ride of the person who killed them all, and the only way to stop the curse is to get rid of him, you must find out who this person is and tell them to leave forever and to let the people go.” When they read, what the clipping said they stayed up that night and waited to find out who the person was that killed the people in Mistress hotel. They had an Ouija board and candles that is all they needed to find out who did it.
Caril set the Ouija board in the middle of the table and the candles around it. Then he set three chairs around the table and they all sat down. It was now six-thirty am, the same time the ghostly figures appear every night. When they appeared the gathered hands and closed their eyes and Carol asked the spirits these words, “Who are you?” They responded by saying, “I am the maid Madden Lauren, I am the bellhop Charlie, I am the owner of the hotel John Mistress, and I am Trevor.” Then Carol asked, “Who are you Trevor?” and he answered by saying, “I am the person who shot the owner and the maid. I am the person who hung the bellhop. I am the person who killed the guests by trapping them in their sleep. I am the person who knows how to kill you.” When he said that the room grew very cold, as cold as ice, cold enough to freeze a lake. Then Carol said, “leave them alone, let them be, Trevor you shouldn’t be, you cursed them all, and then you killed them, not I’m saving them, and setting them free.” You could tell that it was working when the room got warm and the spirits were gone. The lights even got brighter. Then when they got up this figure stood in front of them, she had brown hair, reddish brown eyes and darkish tan skin. She looked alive but she was not. she said her name was Felicity Mistress and she was locked in a safe and burned. They saved her hotel and her and her guests and she thanked them. Then she disappeared. When she disappeared, they went to bed and in the morning, they made a copy of the tape they made during the whole thing last night and set it to their company and packed their stuff and said goodbye. That is when it ended the whole mystery. It was just a man who was trapping souls and the souls that were trapped trying to get out.

Mary Ann is now 100 and she can still remember the day the Johnsons came to here house and freed the spirits there that were trapped by a curse. Mary Ann fixed up the house and is now friends with the maid and the bellhop that died in the house when the curse had happened. Mary Ann talked to the ghosts about reopening the Mistress hotel and about them helping her out. The ghosts said they would and they opened the hotel 3 days later. It has only been 5 weeks and the hotel is more popular than any other hotel in the town. People were checking in for weeks and some even months. When they checked out they would be back with friends to show them the hotel they stayed in and loved, but one day the maid was cleaning a room and she made the bed and when she picked up the blanket she found the same note she did before when the curse started. When she found it she ran to the bellhop and told him everything about how and where she found the note, and then she read it to him, “I curse this hotel with 6 things. You will find out what they are because they will eventually shut the place down. I am warning you everyone will die on the 6th thing and their souls will be trapped forever.” After he read it, he knew that the curse wasn’t over but they didn’t say anything to Mary Ann.
One day when Marry Ann was putting things on the table for the guests she found the note with the curse. She was frightened, she didn’t know if it was from before or if the curse was back so she left everything be until she knew what was happening.
