After fifteen years of constant endeavouring, organising and advertising, I am very pleased to publish herewith an e-book, containing selected parts of Prof. Dr. D. B. Kapp’s brilliant translation of the Shrī Sadāshivacaritāmrita composed by Shrī Mahāprabhu-jī Haidākhān Bhagavān.
The selection presents the following excerpts: Chapters I, 1-20; III, 1-7; IV, 1-16; V, 1-9; VIII, 1-14; IX, 1-12.
The verses in the original book, composed in Sanskrit and Old Avadhi by Mahēndra Bābā, are italicised in the translation. The texts beneath the verses are commented translations of the foregoing verses, written in a highly sanskritised Hindi by Vishnudatta Mishra (Shāstrī-jī).
With regard to comments on the translation, three of them may be quoted in the following:
(1) Shrī Dattātrēya Avatāra Mahāmunirāj-jī: “Please, carry on with the translation!”
(2) The renowned German Indologist, Prof. Dr. Dr. K. Mylius: “The translation is matchless and cannot be topped.”
(3) An Indian Professor of Social Pedagogics with Hindi as his mother-tongue: “Neither would I be capable to undertake such a translation nor would I dare to do so.”
While reading the words of the text, the beauty of this translation written in the spirit of the original, can be fully felt and perceived.
Every reader has the chance to express his own personal opinion. Hence, we would appreciate if you commented on the spirit of the book.

The intent of this e-book is to highlight the power of Dua – a power that many of us sometimes don’t fully comprehend – because if we did, we would do whatever is necessary to make dua work for us. Many of us make dua to Allah to ask for His favors, to get His attention, to seek forgiveness for our sins, or simply to get out of trouble when we get into one. Sometimes our dua to Allah brings immediate results and sometimes it doesn’t. For those of us who fully comprehend the dynamics behind dua, the process can be straightforward and less stressful, but for others who don’t understand it as such, the lack of results as we perceive them to be, sometimes can cast doubt on our faiths.
