Visora
My world is a pure, untouched and small land. Separated into six floating islands, to eliminate fighting. The islands are positions with superior in the center and the others link out from it. There are six head rulers, who never die that rule their land. They pick one of their own to be their protĂ©gĂ©. (Age eighteen till death) I was chosen to be the superior protĂ©gĂ©. Visora witches are not born with their powers; they come in around age ten. Thatâs when we go to âVisora Witch Academyâ. Since the dawn of time my world has never had a war. Together we make Visora possible. We need each other, no matter haw different we are.
The Trials
âGet along; Marceilne your head-master wants a word with you.â My mother called. I was too tired to get up out of bed, walk to the academy just to hear my head-master say âgood luckâ. I just wanted to sleep until the trials today. Every protĂ©gĂ© must show off their talent to all of Visora. Iâm not sure why but I do know that the entire land will see I have failed to complete the âdeath scrollâ. âIf you donât get you lazy ass out of bed right now, I will beat you with your broom stick!â She threatened. At that I stumbled out of bed, striped out of my night gown and into my school uniform. (Since superiors are rare, we have a lot of extra space, the school is on our land.) âOk Iâm ready.â I said when I got done. She just stared at the mirror like object we had in our comfort room. It was a blank, worried stare, and it kind of freaked me out. âGood-buy motherâ I droned as I ran out the door. The school wasnât far from my home, so I decided to walk. I finally made it to the school; the doors big castle opened slowly. I made my way to the hall of head-masters.â Hello grand-master.â I yawned. He frowned. âAwe child, you have failed me.â He said in a low voice. I took one deep breath. âSon of a bitch, how did you find out?â I snapped. âWell, I know my own kind.â he chuckled. âI never will learn it, so just get that out of your head right now.â All the head masters looked down at me. I felt bad for snapping at him but I must stand my ground. âYou best get to the arena child.â He replayed. I nodded and walked out of the building. I only got to the gate before started to cry, knowing that I have failed my master. âIâm his protĂ©gĂ© I should have done betterâ. I though. âOh honey, no tears please.â My spirit partner Mio said in a crooked voice. (Every protĂ©gĂ© has an orbe like spirit of the last protĂ©gĂ© to help guide them created by the sole of the protĂ©gĂ© before them.) Tears fell form my check to the ground like rain. âIâm so stupid.âI sobbed. âWhat are you talking about your the smartest partner I ever hadâ. Mio perked. âIâm the only partner you ever hadâ. I said. âThen that makes you pretty damn special.â He crooked. We talked the rest of the way to the arena.âMarceline, where have you been?â Kia, the earth & animal protĂ©gĂ© asked.â Ummm. ... I walked.â I said quickly. The circle has been so pissed you got a lot of explaining to doâ she said. I really didnât care about the circle. (All of the protĂ©gĂ©s make up a full six witch circle) âPeople of Visora, I give you Kia, Mara, Lummar, Aeron, Kon and Marcelineâ the announcer said. The crowed cheered; Kia grabbed my arm and pulled me along. âThis bitch is crazyâ. I thought. We went in order as announced. This is my first year at the arena, as a protĂ©gĂ© but I was confident in my progressing power. By the time I really decided to watch anything it was Kon of death & darkness, turn to conjuror. I couldnât believe it, the nerve of that ungrateful little bastard, he killed a unicorn. A hard kill even for Kon but it still got under my skin... âItâs your turn Marceline.â he snarled. I growled back at him... I went to the center of the arena still nervous and pissed but with a few slow, careful movements, all if the four natural elements and their complements rushed around the arena. The crowed went wild, but I couldnât see them; I had my eyes closed. I just happened to peeked down at the dead unicorn. Its body stiff and sickeningly mangled. I remembered the spell Kon used to kill it a spell that would cause the victim to be strangled and ripped limb to limb. Now, I donât know what it was, but whatever it was. . . . . I said the spell backwardsâŠ.. âDaeohâ I whispered. When I completed my session with the four elements, to my and everyoneâs amazement there in the arena next to me, stood the unicorn alive again; strong and healthy as ever. At first the crowed and I where silent in shock, and then it roared with cheer. I was really proud of my self. Then I felt it. Unsure of what it was, but knowing it was bad. All of a sudden I grew weaker and dizzy. My vision blurred and I fell to the arena floor unconscious. It must have been hourâs before I came around. My vision wasnât perfect yet but I could make out my mother and the superior healer. It was cold: I sat up and let one of the figures to put a warm fur around me. I looked up at the figure I though was my mother. âHow do you feel?â it cried. I then knew it was my mother. âIâm not sure, what happened?â I shivered. âDarling, you died.â She spoke words but, in the shock of reality I heard nothing. âHow?â I managed to get out. âUmmm, Iâm not sure.â She studded, looking nervously up at the healer. âWhat is she hiding from me, and everyone else?â I thought. Two days later I was allowed to go home not that I really wanted to though. âOh sweet cheese on rice your aliveâ Kia shouted as she ran up to me. âWhat the hell did she just say?â Kia went on and on about me missing the first few days back at the academy. I really didnât care, three more years I will be twenty and can go off and explore all the natural wonders of Visora. I like to learn about my world and explore new places, face danger and get into loads of trouble, but my mother wanted me to become a teacher for the academy, one of the safest jobs you can get in my world.
The Academy
First day at the academy was really weird, it seamed everyone was talking about what happen. All of the mysterious stares made me feel nervous. Mio told me not to worry but it was a bit difficult with all the wide eyed stares, loud enough whispers, and the distance others kept between me and them... âMarceline died; oh my goodness look at her face; did you hear about Marceline?â I heard whispers about me all day; but my mind was set on potions class. Normally I was partnered with the dumb-ass kids in their first or second year, but oh no I got to be with Rook, a fire and light warlock. He was tall, tan, smart and super hot. He didnât ask or even make a hint to ask about the trials. This made me go even crazier for him. Man, oh man he is so freaking hot, I bet he kisses good. I thought. My wondering mind led me to over pour the potion of âfogoâ all over the table. âShitâ I grunted. I nervously cleaned up the toxic liquid. âSo Marceline?â Rook started. âOh no donât ask Rook donât ask. Was Rook really going to ask about the trials, I hope notâ. I waiter for him to talk, I grew nervous and almost peed. âI was wondering, if you would like to go to the âWelcoming ball with me?â he asked. I was shocked, Rook asked me out I couldnât believe it. I waited three seconds before I said it would be my pleasure. Looking back on it, it was really lame thing to say, but I didnât care I was going out with Rook. I rushed home and told my mother, back when she was my age, Rooks father and her dated he broke her tiny little heart, and if Rook wants to keep that pretty little face of his, he better not do that to me. âWhat have you decided to wear?â Mio asked. âIâm not sure yet, what do you think?â I replied. The first time Iâm worried about how I looked I went to Mio for help, perfect.
The Ball
I finally made up my mind to wear my mothers gold and violet ball gown; it fit me perfectly. Rook showed up at my house and we rode to the ball in a unicorn carriage. Classic Rook. I thought. Before I left my mother whispered to me âdonât be a dumb-ass like I wasâ it didnât make mush sense but I got the hint. The ride was too quiet for comfort, when we just about got there Rook took my hand and slipped a beautiful six gem, for the elements and their complements, silver woven bracelet around my wrist and spoke âWill you be my girlfriend?â he gulped and waited for an answer. âOh, Rook of corse I willâ. I hugged him. Now it was official, a totally hot warlock and a sexy superior protĂ©gĂ© together. At the ball there was a lot of dancing too much if you ask meâ But Rook and I couldnât stop laughing; we got so loud we had to go out side to catch our breath. âSo this is a good first date?â he asked. âThe best ever.â I whispered. Then it happened, Rook leaned in close to my lips, I leaned in to meet his, and there we sat out by a pond having out first kiss. It was magical; and warm. All I wanted now was to feel his body against mine. Nineteen seconds of pure rush. âThat was just . . . wow.â I said taking deep breaths. âWe should get back in side.â Rook said as he placed his jacket around my bare arms. The rest of the dance went great after
