“No! Don't hurt him...” I whispered as my eyes are getting fuzzy.
Zylen!” I heard Ellis' worried voice as he finally caught me before I completely fall. He hugged me and flew to the opposite direction of the fighting scene.
“Ellis... I'm s-so d-izzy..” I'm just glad and relieved to see him again. To see his handsome worried face.
“It's alright now..He cannot harm you again.” He said grimly and hugged me tightly.
“No, Leon is---”
“Let Maxwell and Axel take care of him.”
“No!” I screamed.
“What?” I didn't have the chance to answer as we landed, Ellis ran while I'm still in his arms towards Maggie who at the moment is weaving something circular and bright. “Is it done?” Ellis inquired sounding riled.
“Almost.” Maggie replied without looking at us.
“Hurry!” He roared.
“Done!” Maggie hissed sounding irritated and then I saw an opening that looked like a portal. I saw the familiar corridor at Ellis' manor.
“Maxwell! Axel! Let's go!” Ellis shouted then a few seconds later I heard a loud thud. I looked at the direction where I heard it and I gasped as I saw Leon on the cold stone floor lying still while his wings are frozen and his arms and legs are restrained with shackles made of ice. Max and Axel landed gracefully and walked towards us. I noticed their wings disappeared and so are Ellis'.
“Leon!” I called while I was being carried into the portal but before I lost sight of him, he looked up and stared at me, smiling sadly then I passed out.

"You are my love, my everything, and my suffering..."

The dark prince's point of view (Special chapter)
1497, Canterbury, England
I am watching Evangeline like a hawk as she practices her incantation. I am standing behind one of the tall and thick bookshelves with incantation books on it, hiding my presence from her view. It is not allowed to disrupt an Enchanter when they are in focus at making spells. It is against the rules. I saw her move gracefully as she waves her slender fingers trying to perfect the spell. Then I saw her flawless forehead wrinkled as she made a mistake and made the poor rat into a frog. I became amused as she giggled childishly afterwards. She's a breathtaking sight to look at and I will not be tired of watching her. I love this girl and I will always love her. My heart yearns for her when she is out of my sight. I love everything about her. Her lovely face, her childish banter when we talk, her hearty giggles, and even her clumsiness and her impulsive behaviour. I know there is no one suitable for her but me. I will protect her from anything and from anyone. I will not let anyone steal her from me. I know she has a large number of admirers but I am far more suitable for her. They only love her for her captivating beauty but I love her inside and out. I will wait for her eighteenth birthday to come and I will ask for her hand in marriage. I have decided to become a Guardian, her Guardian so we can be together even if that means to give up being an heir to a kingdom which I do not even wish to come back anymore. My heart is already engraved in this place where Evangeline is. I have to let Mistress Aurora know of my proposal as soon as possible. I smiled, pleased with my decision.
"Prince Leon." A girl's voice interrupted me from behind. She gave me a slight bow to show her respect then looked at me sternly. I arched my eyebrow at her, feeling irritated as I saw who it is. She is Evangeline's handmaiden, Cassandra. I do not like her at all. There is something in this girl that is bothering me. Whenever I watch Evangeline I can see this peasant eyeing my dear Evangeline with hidden contempt. I know of it even if Evangeline cannot see it. This Cassandra looked at her with great envy. I do not trust her but I cannot warn Evangeline since she finds a liking to this ungrateful servant. I can see she adores this little girl.
"You have no need to bother, I will go." I said harshly before she can speak. I turned towards the the already opened door but before I can completely be out of ear reach, I heard Evangeline spoke, sounding frustrated. I stopped and hid behind the open door feeling curious.
"Cassandra! I have to see him again! I cannot focus at all! All I did is think about him! Look! What have I done to this poor creature. I turned it into a frog and I cannot reverse it to its original form because my mind is out of focus..." Evangeline squeaked. I felt a pang of pain struck my heart. Who is she talking about? Is it me or is it another man? I sighed and walked away. I have never imagined Evangeline to be this distracted by a man. We had met long ago when I was Eighteen and she was still fifteen. She did not once felt like this towards me. She is always at ease with me like I am just her playmate and I do not think it is a good sign. We met two years ago. I still remembered that fateful meeting where she started to stir my heart and changed me...
"Prince Leon your father has sent you here to be trained as a good person and as a competent combatant so you can be a great leader when your father will be ready to pass down the throne to your care. His Majesty knows what is best for you." My loyal attendant, Marco explained calmly when he saw how angry I was to be thrown in this cold, stranger of a place." I stared at him vehemently. I do not believe that father sent me here for a good reason. He hated my existence so he threw me away.
"What will come of me here? This place is isolated with no beautiful women!" I hissed and looked at the tall trees and bushes leading to the big estate. We are traveling in a carriage at the moment to the Et Auguriis Manor. My mother said it is a place for Enchanters who practice magic. My mother, the Queen was once an Enchanter but left when she married my father. I heard that if an Enchanter marries an outsider he or she will have to renounce his or her power or the outsider will become a Guardian to be a protector of the Enchanter betrothed to him or her. However, my mother didn't have the heart to make my father waived his rights as the rightful heir to the throne. Who would have want to throw away his position as a king? Not my father.. Not even me..
"My Prince, that is one of the reason his Majesty sent you here, to focus solely and be celibate until your set marriage. Your infamous escapade with every woman is quite well-known in Spain. His Majesty and the Queen are worried that no woman of the Royal family will accept your marriage proposal. Please, this place is not bad. No one knows about your true identity except for the Mistress Aurora, your mother's dear friend and just a few trusted servants and her only daughter." I ignored him and stared through the window when an idea came to me. When the carriage slowed down, I jumped out and ran through the woods. I laughed contentedly as I heard Marco's appalled voice calling me but I just continued on running. I will definitely give them a pain in their behind before they can tame me----My mischievous thoughts were disrupted as one of my booted ankle was caught by something and now I am hanged ridiculously upside down. I heard a girl's giggle then I saw a pair of blue sapphire eyes stared at me amused. I cannot see her completely because of my uncomfortable position.
"Little girl, bring me down this instant!" I commanded her with my normal arrogant tone.
"Hmmp! Who are you calling little girl Mister ill-tempered?" She raised her eyebrow at me and placed her hands on her hips. I find the gesture oddly attractive so I shook my head which is getting dizzy.
"Alright, Pretty lady will you please get me down? I am almost feeling lightheaded." I said as calmly as I could. I saw her smile and it showed her perfectly white teeth and her pretty dimples appeared. I was captivated by her smile so I was surprise to hear her voice.
"et deducent!" She chanted and I fell on my back with a loud thud. "Waah... my spell worked!" She clapped her hands jovially.
I was about to scold her when I froze to see her innocent yet beguiling beauty with no comparison.
"My name is Evangeline and you are?" She flashed another smile at me, oblivious of my pained backside. On that moment, my heart was captured. She is the first girl who was not amazed by my handsome looks.
"I am Leon." We clasped our hands and that started our friendship...
I sighed at the memory.. Until now Evangeline has treated me just a mere friend and she never feels frustrated about something with regards to me. Then dinner came. Mistress Aurora asked everyone to gather at the enormous dining hall that has more than twenty long tables. Everyone filled the long tables as they eat and drink to their hearts content. After the dessert was served, Mistress Aurora stood at the center.
"Ladies and gentleman of the Et Auguriis Community, I have an important announcement." She began and everyone stopped chattering and turned their gazes at her and so am I. I unwillingly tore my gaze from Evangeline who is playing with her food in front of me. "As you all know, my only daughter Evangeline will be coming of age in the succeeding month." I gasped feeling alarmed to hear the continuation. She continued. "As part of the rules, she has to be betrothed to a suitable Guardian at the age of eighteen and I have selected a fine young man for her. Come dear.." She motioned someone that I did not notice seating at the far table. "Everyone please greet Ellixiel warmly." Everyone obeyed willingly
