Laura was waiting for me inside. I waited to be told what to do because Morgan hadn’t given me instructions for what to do what I got here.
“Hello, please step into the shower to be properly cleaned for the day. Today you will have a cold shower a light shampoo and condition with exfoliating paste. Everything today will be lemon scented. Is that all right?” she said when i had closed the door.
“Um, sure. I guess.” I responded. You know, it’s weird how even though I was the daughter of the third highest ranking official in colony six I was never treated this well. I suppose that's because all the good scientist that develop good stuff like this are all stuck in colony eleven training all us kids with special talents. I also wonder where they got all the people to be our servants. And who makes the food. And who designs the clothes. And who builds the buildings. If colony eleven is only for people with special powers what are all these working class people doing here with no powers?
I got in the shower and was instantly blasted by ice cold water. I tried to shrink away from it before I realised that it was coming directly from above my head. I tried to open the shower door but it was locked, on purpose, just to make sure I couldn’t escape my highly uncomfortable shower. Then as if on command a small blob of something gooey fell onto my head, my shampoo. I let it rinse out on its own, and then tried the door again. Still locked and I am still trapped. Then came the conditioner. I tried to wipe it off my head befor it could sink in but failed. Last there was the ‘exfoliating paste’! What a load of crap! The water had stopped and I was squirted with thick, gritty, yellow paste. It started sliding down my body and scraping my skin the whole time. When the water turned itself back on I was raw and pink, not the most beautiful look. I stepped out into a hot, dry blast of wind. The wind stopped and I was dry. I stepped into the towel that Laura held out for me, I did not actually need a towel since the wind had dried me but I was grateful for the cover up.
“Go get on your street clothes. You will spend the day without Morgan. Today you spend it with Ruby. She is your new personal assistant, or PA. Everyone says she has potential.” Laura said as she ushered me back into the bedroom.
