“Lauren Stephanie Kendall, you need to get up and get ready for school,” said her mother. As Lauren got out of her sleigh bed, her miniature Yorkie came running into her room. Lauren is a sixteen-year-old girl that has dark brown hair and mint green eyes. When she was ready to stand up, she went to her master bathroom and got ready for school. When she got out of the shower, she turned on her flat screen TV to watch the Ellen DeGeneres show. After she was dried off completely, she went into her closet and picked out a Green Juicy Couture Sweat Suit, a chocolate brown Versace shirt and her Chocolate brown and green Nike Shoxs. When she was ready to go, she headed downstairs for the delicious breakfast her housekeeper, Maria fixed for her.
As she got downstairs, she saw her mother and father both sitting in the foyer drinking coffee. When her mother saw her, she got up out of her seat and gave her daughter a hug and kiss.
“You look absolutely beautiful Lauren. I hope you have a great day at school, “said her mother as she sat back down to enjoy her coffee.
“Thanks mom. I hope my new teachers are nice. I mean, why shouldn‘t they be? Our family donates about two hundred thousand dollars to the school each year,” said Lauren as she grabbed her new Coach purse, her Nike gym bag, which held her volleyball things, and her car keys. About two months ago, her father bought her the new 2007 Porsche. Once she got outside, she drove off on to the road. Since she got a new car, she promised Courtney and Heather a ride to school. As she arrived at the stone mansion that belonged to the Rivera’s (Heather’s luxury house), she honked the horn. Then, a girl with brown hair and blue eyes, which is ultra rare, came out of the perfectly designed house. As Heather opened the door of her car, Lauren got a clear look of the outfit; A Miss Sixty lavender mini skirt, a Mossimo grey cashmere tank top, a pair of lavender knee high Uggs and a Miss 60 dark denim blazer.
“Hey Lauren. I love your new car. It is so much better than that old Mercedes Benz that you were driving. This is so much more girlish than the other one,” said Heather as she put her Adidas gym bag and Dooney and Burke hearts tote in the trunk of the convertible.
“Oh, thanks. I love those Uggs. When we pick up Courtney, we will go to Starbucks,” said Lauren as she drove off to go to Courtney’s house.
Once they got there, Courtney came running out of the house. Lauren would have normally told her to stop running before school, but she did not. She just waited for Courtney to put her purse and her purple Nike gym bag in the trunk. As always, Courtney wore her Silver and Green Nike's, a pair of Abercrombie and Fitch Dark Wash Jeans and an Abercrombie t-shirt. All of the girls had to get their purses out of the trunk because the gym bags were taking up most of the space in the trunk. The bags were full of the volleyball shoes, socks, active ankles, shorts, shirts and knee pads. The girls were all the stars of their varsity volleyball team and adored by the all of the starting players of the boys varsity basketball team. Once Lauren pulled up into the North Shore Academy School’s parking lot, she popped the trunk open and the girls grabbed their bags and headed to the door of the school with their heads held high. Suddenly, Courtney spotted, Josh, Zac, and Bryan, the girl’s boyfriends. As Zac pushed by the other girls to get to Lauren, Josh and Bryan took the gym bags out of their girlfriends’ arms.
“Hey sweetie,” said Zac as he grabbed her bag and gave her a kiss.” How is your day going so far?”
“Great and how is yours going?” asked Lauren as she opened the glass door to the school. All she could see were girls and boys going to their classes and talking to their friends to catch up on the things they missed over the summer. As Lauren and Zac headed to their lockers, Gretchen, the girl he dated before school let out, stopped Zac. She is probably the most annoying girl in school. She thinks she is so cool just because she is a cheerleader. As soon as Gretchen was getting ready to speak, Lauren came up and got the chance to speak first.
“Uh hi Gretchen. If you didn’t know already, me and Zac are going out, so don’t get any ideas,” said Lauren as she came out of nowhere. Then she pulled Gretchen off to the side.
“Listen, if you and your other annoying friends don’t stay out of my hair and out of my way, you might want to think about what you gravestone is going to look like. Do I make myself clear or do I need to say it one more time so it can get through your tiny head,” snapped Lauren. Most of the time they she would snap something back in her face, but she just stood there like a guard at Buckingham Palace. Then, she took off running to catch up with her friends as Zac made his way over.
“What did you say to her? It is not like I care but I just want to know,” Zac said as he put his arm around her shoulder. As always, he tried to be the better person.
“All I said was that she needs to stay out of my way,” said Lauren as she slammed her lock door shut and picked up her books off the ancient floor.
“Well, she seemed a little upset and I was wondering what you said. I did not want you to say anything that would make her think that she and I are enemies, we are just friends. That is all we will ever be,” said Zac as he tried to sound sympathetically calm.
“Okay. I will see you in 3rd period then. Bye, love you,” said Lauren as she headed down the hallway to her first class.

As Lauren walked down the hall to Ms.Carok’s art class, she passed her volleyball coach, Bianca Doorman.
“Hello Miss Doorman. Are we still doing the tryouts today?” questioned Lauren as she tried to keep up with her coach.
“Um, yes we are. You, Heather and Courtney do not need to try out, but I would come so the other girls can see what they will be doing if they make it. I might move them to tomorrow afternoon. Are you guys busy? If you are, we will just keep them the way they are,” said Miss Doorman as looked straight into Lauren’s mint green eyes. Once her eyes were off her, Lauren was able to speak.
“We aren’t busy today or tomorrow. It doesn’t matter if you change the times,” said Lauren. As the coach was trying to think, Lauren was filing her nails.
“I think it would be best to keep them just the way they are. Well, I will see you this afternoon,” said Mrs. Doorman as she walked away from Lauren. As Mrs. Doorman walked away, Lauren walked to her first period class.
Once she was in the cold room, she saw most of her classmates from last year. As always, she had to sit by Lance Karell, the freak who loved theater. He was always humming show tunes and he dressed like a girl, but without the skirts. Then, thankfully, her best friend, Courtney Franco, came in and sat in the seat right next to her.
“Hey. Why do we have to sit with him?” questioned Courtney as she put her Coach tote on top of her wooden desk. Normally, Lauren would have said something back, but she did not have the time to. Her arts history teacher, Mrs. Carok. As she came in, Lauren could see her salmon colored shirt and black pant suit that she was wearing.
“Good morning class. Get out your textbooks and begin reading page 194 to 206,” said Mrs. Carok. As she sat down at her cherry wood desk, Lauren and Courtney began talking.
“Okay, what is going on with you and Zac? I thought you two were best friends. I did not know that you guys were going out. How come you didn’t tell me?” questioned Courtney as she began to file her nails. Even though Lauren was closer to Courtney than any of her friends, she really did not want to tell Courtney. It was because she would tell Zac’s friends, and then they would tell their friends and it would go on and on and on. If she had a choice, she would much rather tell Josh, Courtney’s boyfriend. He would keep her secret, even though he already knows. Now that Bryan and Josh knew, soon Heather and Courtney will find out.
“Okay I thought Josh already told you? I mean, Josh and Bryan both know and they have known for about two months and I am sorry that I didn’t tell you sooner,” said Lauren as she pulled her Art History textbook out to start reading so she would not get in trouble.
“I was just wondering why you told Josh instead of me first. I would not have told anyone. You are my best friend and I wouldn’t tell anyone your secret,” said Courtney as she got her textbook out from beneath her desk and started to read.
“Ladies, I am trying to concentrate on reading this section in the book. So, please be quiet,” said Lance as he went back to his reading. The girls just sat in their seats and started to laugh. Lance always tried to sound serious but normally, he does not do a good job at it.
“Listen, I was going to tell you but I am just worried that you were going to tell the whole school. You see, not very many people want me to go out with Zac. I have no idea why but they think Gretchen should go out with him. Even though I am the most popular girl in school, they think he would be better for Gretchen,” said Lauren as she put her book under her desk.
“Lauren, I would never tell anyone about you going out with Zac. You are my friend and I would never do that to you. Besides, I think I know the reason why people think that,” said Courtney as she began reading.
“Umm, okay then why do you think that? Is it because he plays basketball and she is a cheerleader and I am not?” said Lauren as she put her purse down on the ground.
“Lauren, I don’t know how to put it but yes. Basketball and football players do not date volleyball players. I know we all date basketball players but it really does not matter for us. It only matters for you. You see basketball and football players only date cheerleaders. It really isn’t right for any other sport player to date a basketball or football player,” said Courtney. Courtney was right. Ever since summer, anytime they saw anyone from school, they would always give Lauren the cold shoulder. Now she knew why they did that.
“You know what Courtney; I am not going to let it get to me. If people think Zac and I shouldn’t be dating, then
