his own Throne a few paces away, with his bodyguard-in-training, Sophie Wolfkin. Dia took a seat beside Dranus, watching and listening quietly.
Would you mind if I handled her, beloved? Adellandra asked.
By all means, sheâs your soul-sister. Go ahead. Draconis frowned at the kneeling Destria.
Adellandra stood and nodded for Alexia to stay in position. She stepped down and walked up to her soul-sister. âRise Destria, and tell me why youâve come.â
Destria stood, eyeing those staring at her. Of all Royals, Adellandra was the only one not scowling at the sight. Destria gulped.
âMy Lady, Iâve word about MagDaliah.â She said softly. âI overheard a conversation between MagDaliah and Albrath while I was spying on them in my gyrfalcon form.â
She heard a gasp and saw Dranus staring at her, lips pursed.
âWhat were they talking about?â Adellandra asked gently.
âThey were going to kidnap your female kits.â
âShould they step foot on these grounds, I will destroy them!â Draconis pounded his fist to his Throne.
âMay I interject?â Dranus asked him. Once receiving a nod, he continued. âI am afraid you are too late, Lord. They may not have kidnapped the kits yet, but they have been on the grounds.â
Draconis sighed and said. âAye, outside the infirmary doors. I remember you telling me.â He stood this time, addressing Destria. âWhat else have you overheard?â
âNot much else, Lord, but I thought to come straightaway once I returned to Brother with the news.â Destria said.
âAnd?â Adellandra asked.
âHe sent me with a warning: donât take over your body without your permission.â Destria supplied. âI couldnât even if I wanted to; youâve taken my Demon magic from me.â
âWhile thatâs true, there are other ways of taking over me.â Adellandra supplied.
âAdellandra, donât give her any ideas.â Draconis growled.
âOh, Iâm not.â Adellandra grinned innocently to her mate. âI believe itâs time, Ladies and Gentlemen. Let MagDaliah and her Fe-Minions kidnap the kits; they will know soon enough the taste of Dragonâs Revenge.â She turned to Dranus. âBranno, Branna, summon all Dratianosâ in the area; the more, the better. Dia, alert the kin-Clans and Dracora. Lord Emperor, we must part and prepare for war.â
âNot without me, you wonât!â Destria cried.
âSilencia, Destria.â Lady Adellandra commanded. âYou will have your chance, but not right now. Return to the Demon Realm for now; Iâll mind-speak to you when we need you.â She turned to the group. âNow, we prepare to bring the most powerful force ever known to All the Realms of All the Worlds.â
Draconis merely stared at his mate, unable to say anything aloud.
Youâd better explain yourself, Adellandra! He sent to her, scowling. He waited until the Throne Room was empty of all but them before stalking to the Battle Room.
âHow dare you, Adellandra!â Draconis cried as soon as the door was closed and they were alone. âWe agreed â I would be the main Monarch here. I will be the one to give out orders.â
âYou were taking too damn long.â Adellandra replied in a huff. âSomething has to be done about MagDaliah. Not even Exile was good enough for her, she just used the same Spell Gloriana and Damian used to return to the Realms.â
âI understand that; what I donât understand is why let her kidnap the kits at all? Donât we want to prevent something like that from happening?â
Adellandra merely smiled. âSometimes, you have to lose the battle before you can win the war.â
âBy playing right into their plans?â Draconis asked. âAre you crazy?â
Adellandra shook her head. âNay, not at all.â She supplied. âLet me explain. Long ago, when I was Ariana Moon and the Crusaders were fighting a then-evil Sabrina in the Outer Realm, I used the same tactic after she attacked me in the Hill View Cemetery.â
âOkay,â Draconis said. âHow does that apply here?â
âAfter the Crusaders somewhat healed me, I made myself look more battered and bruised than I was. When I âsurrenderedâ to Sabrina, I was able to gain the upper-hand. With the Crusadersâ help, we were able to Exile her to the Unknown for a time. So, by losing one battle, we eventually won the war.â
Draconis just stared. âOk, but what about Ishanarâs power? How are we going to use it against them?â
âI thought we went over this already?â Adellandra asked. âOkay, here was the plan, once again dearest. We bind all Dratianosâ to each other, using the same spell Adarramena cast when she bound all Ancient Mystics to us. Through that, weâll be able to not only harness, but control the Power of Ishanar.â
Draconis nodded. âI see.â He put his arms around her. âYouâve learned quite a bit lately, havenât you?â
After kissing her Lord Emperor beloved, Adellandra just smiled.
Both the Lord and Lady paced their Throne Room, waiting impatiently for all Dratianosâ and any other of even remote Draconian-blood to arrive. It was quite an impressive amount of people, and Adellandra just smiled when she stopped pacing to survey the Room.
I never knew there were so many of us! Alexiaâs voice echoed in Adellandraâs mind.
Nor did I, but the more the merrier. Adellandra supplied. Use your Empathy and tell me if thereâs anyone missing.
Why canât you?
Iâve got to see if there are any Mystics missing. Adellandra told her gently with a grin.
She found the psychic lines that connected all Ancient Mystics to her and followed them with her mind. She started with her own family and worked her way back to the Originators. Oddly enough, even they had arrived, minus Orthos of course.
Dorianneâs entire lineage was there, with the exception of the two incarnations of Dorianneâs daughter Melody who was reincarnated into Adellandraâs Mystic daughter of the same name. Dixilynneâs entire lineage was there, from Dixilynne âThe Grand Shamusâ and her mate Theodore âThe Apprenticeâ Ryan to the youngest, an infant she didnât recognize. Even those of Sarabethâs lineage, Sarabeth herself, Shannon and Julia, her twin daughters, were there with their families.
Adellandra smiled, finding Bella Martiya alongside her mate Ramon. Bella was Dorianneâs granddaughter and one of those who used to be known as the âUnmentionables,â a group of Ancient Mystics, most from Dorianneâs line, that wanted to remain âoff Mystic Radarâ, so they cut themselves off from their siblings and families.
I suppose I have you to thank for the Ancient Mystics being here, Bella? She thought to her cousin.
Bella looked up and nodded. It was your idea after all, my Lady Empress. I only used the lines you and Grand Magus forged to find them.
Who taught you how to do that? Adellandra was curious.
Bella looked and nodded to Dia, who was busy talking with her own twin Dracora and Dracoraâs mate, Sir Karrath.
Dia taught you? As my Sita would say, color me impressed.
Can we do this already? We still had a few hours until Rest when we were Called. Bella supplied.
As soon as Dria reports her numbers, weâll âdo it.â Adellandra sent to her, and opened her mind to Alexandria. Well? Anyone missing?
Of our Familia, no. Alexandria reported. Even Dranâaâvir and your duos are here with their children.
Very well. Await our instructions. Adellandra switched her mind-path to her Blu-Sita, Dracora. âCora, how about the Dweller kin-Clans?
What about them, Blu-Sita? Dracoraâs voice teased. If you mean are they connected, aye, they are that. Wherever they may reside, here or in our Realm, they are connected psychically. We are ready for your orders, my Lady Empress-Sita.
Adellandra thanked her and sat on her Throne, eyes closed and Empathy open, surveying the room. The doors were closed, locking them all inside. She reached her Magical empathic eyes and ears and sensed a powerful shield surrounding not only the Castle but all of Malâestar and the Dragon Nations.
Thank the Gods weâre all protected. She thought to herself, opening her eyes. She looked up and smiled as her eyes met those of her beloved Lord Emperor.
âAre you alright to do this, darling?â Draconis asked, placing a hand on her cheek. âYou look about to faint.â
âWe must, or they will win indefinitely, and turn our darling daughters against us.â Adellandra was serious. She placed her own hand on his and purred, closing her eyes. âAccording to âCora, Bella, and even Alexia, everyone is ready. Iâm just trying to think of a spell that will bind us all together and still keep our strengths.â
âNo need to worry about magical strength here, love.â Draconis grinned. âWeâre in Malâestar.â She stared at him, which forced him to continue. âShe will protect us and provide us with what we need.â
Adellandra smiled back and nodded. âIn that case, a binding spell should do quite nicely.â She stood and addressed the Court. âLadies, Lords, Mystics and Wizards, Draconians and Companions, Realmbound and Earthbound alike. I am sure you have been informed of why we Called you here.â
âWe are all here to bind ourselves together as one.â Draconis continued. âNot only as one Nation, but one Family. We are being threatened by the one we know as Queen MagDaliah of the Dark Armies.â
âShe has brought together all our old enemies to attack our home.â Adellandra announced. âShe has gathered all Female-Minions from throughout the Realms to destroy us. Do you think we should let her?â
An astounding âNo!â shook the building.
âThen join with us, all minds, bodies and magic.â Adellandra shouted. âGrasp your hands together with those around you, and link yourselves through thoughts and the Psychic bonds that were already forged. Think of your inner magic and concentrate. I will send the words of the spell to those who donât know of it. We will say it together, in harmony, and connect us to the very Power of Ishanar!â
Adellandra waited, holding both her Lordâs hand and that of her son Kroninâs. When they were linked, and Adellandra could sense they were ready, she sent the spell to their minds. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes and focused on her own Goddessâ Magic as Draconis focused on his Godsâ Magic. It would take more than their combined powers to wield a force that strong.
She only hoped they would be able to do it.
Adellandra Moutâella Dranna, once-named Ariana Moon Woods, Silver Moon Cobrianos, and many other names, reached out her magic within to those connected in the large circle. She opened her mouth at the same time her mate opened his, and the chorus of the spell was heard.
âWhatâs mine is yours and yours is mine.
âPart of mine now yours until the end of time,
âFlesh and blood, magic and soul,
âHelp us wield the Magic of Ishanarâs control.
âFrom Mystics Ancient to Dratianosâ Lines
âEarthbound, Realmbound, through Space and Times
âDweller kin-Clans and Draconians Abound
âBind us together through magic sight heart and sound.
âSo we say, this spell is done,
âSo mote it be, we two races are now one.â
They all felt as a bond was tightening in each of their minds, souls, magic and hearts. Those Ancient Mystics
