up to me and she smiled.

“I vow to be in service to you forever, Crucifix . . . please, I beg you to let me one day earn your forgiveness.”

With that, everything else was implied. I pressed into her body and she was stuck between the wall and my cock bein’ thrust into her mouth. With visions of all the shit we’d do in the future—the punishments, pleasure, and finally havin’ her on the back of my bike wearin’ my property patch—I fucked her face until I came down her throat. I heard her gaggin’ and pulled back.

“I love you, ya sinful slut . . . I know you’re gonna stay that way and make me one happy motherfucker!” I helped her up and realized the water had gotten cold while we were in there. It didn’t register in the heat of shit, but it was like ice. “Let’s get ya dressed. Not the best outfit, but other than havin’ a property patch on your back, my clothes will do the trick. All those crazy Bastards will know exactly who you are and who you belong to.”

Everyone was finally gonna meet my nun.

My Fi.

My ol’ lady—Gingersnap.

23

Three months later

Snaps still wasn’t comfortable in biker chick gear, but wore it proudly. Her life had been flipped upside down worse than mine. I’d had so many years to adjust filled with some of the ugliest shit you could imagine. The biggest thing to change after that night was finally havin’ her stay—not walk out the door, not leave my bed, not go back to them.

Jeans and boots were small fries next to the rest of it. It wasn’t as if she hadn’t been in the Mounds before. She’d been there plenty when it was closed and all the glitter had settled onto the stage for the night. Comin’ from a convent into a place like that when it was overflowin’ with strippers and the girls who did all the special favors was like another world. She went from a life of nuns into a world where she was eyeballs deep in perfume, glitter, and platform shoes. She’d spent a life in vowed poverty and was thrust into a world that was all about greed. The girls at the bar were all really cool with her; she was like the pet nun to some of ‘em. Kinda hard to shake bein’ the new kid on the block when you’re the shiny new toy and the boss’ ol’ lady. I had to give the girls credit for respectin’ what I had with her and not throwin’ themselves at me—even Rock Candy had been on perfect behavior. Still, the change was massive for her.

I was grateful for Lexi takin’ Gingersnap under her wing with the ol’ ladies. That coulda gone a lot of directions, but Lex kept things straight so I didn’t have to start rollin’ heads.

It also took some time to get her used to bein’ on the back of the bike, but some long rides upstate in the country helped a lot with that. She prayed a lot for a while when I took her out, then she just did it when we got on and off.

I had to hand it to her for conquerin’ all the new shit life with me was throwin’ at her. The more she did, the more I realized how much she loved me. Only love could make someone crazy enough to let themselves be put in my world on purpose. We still hadn’t conquered Brooklyn—she didn’t wanna go there and I couldn’t blame her a bit. The bridge was another thing, but not as hard as the borough itself. Between Lex and I, we convinced her to go for the big day. We were officially gonna have Brooklyn, and Redhook was throwin’ a party for us.

Things had gone much smoother than expected, and without Rattler to stink up the place, Redhook was happier. After everything that went down, the guys all had some light-bulb moments. Turns out that Rattler had been MIA a lot, but he was a piece of shit and people were just happy when he was gone. They also said he’d been flashin’ more money than usual and they’d even checked into the club’s money and the stuff with Five Point—his hands were clean with that shit. It was clear that he’d been in the deep pockets of the Catholic Church. Greedy, evil bastard!

When we pulled into the parking lot of what would be the Rotten Apple Chapter-Brooklyn, I squeezed her knee as I got off the bike.

“See, you made it . . . we’re takin’ back Brooklyn . . . you and me. The Bastards are gonna have the territory, but beyond the club, we aren’t gonna let them motherfuckers in that convent or any other church keep us out. Ya got that?”

I took off her helmet and she smiled at me. “Are you kidding? I can do this. I’m with you, aren’t I? No one can touch me.”

There was a little bit of bullshit wrapped up in her words, but she seemed pretty relaxed and definitely happy.

Lexi got off the bike and threw an arm around her. “Come on, sis . . . you got this . . . we got this! It’s a big day, so smile, smile, smile that pretty smile!”

We went into the meeting and Lex took Gingersnap off with the other ladies to do whatever it is ladies do when they’re alone. I don’t ask no questions on that shit. With women, ya just never know, and if it was somethin’ I needed to know, one of ‘em would tell me.

The meeting was mostly for formalities and since we’d discussed it so much, it was done with a handshake and no paper trail. Redhook’s guys all knew the deal and none
