both letters, I put Blow’s in the middle of his bed and leave his room. I walk down to the room that belongs to my dad and knock before entering. I don’t know if my mom’s in the room or not. Opening it, I find it empty. I close the door behind me when I enter the room and do what I did with Blow’s letter. I put it in the center of the bed for my mom to see. Scanning the room, I find the keys to my dad’s restored Mustang. Closing my eyes, I shake my head. He keeps it at his and mom’s house, which is only half a mile from the clubhouse. He’ll understand, and I’ll make sure to take good care of it. He and Nick did all the work on it, and so I feel guilty for what I’m about to do, but I have no choice. I’ll take it up to my cabin so I can get my car.

I snag the keys and step out of my parents’ room, and head for the back door. I head for the backside of the fencing, where the bushes grow through fencing and pull the broken fencing away. I discovered this a long time ago and forgot to ever tell my dad about it. It’s worked to my advantage twice now so far. On the outside of the fence, I straighten and stare at the clubhouse for one last time. I’ll never come back here.

Blow’s made sure of it. I don’t know what he was trying to accomplish with his hurtful words, but he damn sure broke my heart into a million pieces. There’s no putting it back. It’s time for me to get out of here, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.

Turning away from the clubhouse, I dart off in the direction of my parents’ house. It doesn’t take me too long to get there. I punch in the code to enter the side door of the garage and step inside. I pull the tarp off the Mustang and open the door to the garage. Once the door’s up, I climb in behind the wheel, feeling horrible about touching something that means so much to my dad and brother. They worked so hard on this together, and here I am stealing it.

Starting the engine, she starts up with a purr. Pulling out of the garage, I don’t bother putting the door back down. I know someone at the clubhouse would have been notified of the alarm being disabled. I turn the car out of the driveway in the direction of the cabin and hit the gas.

Making it home in record time, I cut the engine of the Mustang, open the door, and get out, making sure to lock the doors as I shut the door.

Rushing into the cabin, I pack my bags quickly. By now, I’m sure someone has noticed, not only my dad’s car gone, but I’m also missing from in the depths of the clubhouse.

Packing a few outfits, I change out of Blow’s t-shirt I’d put on after showering a bit ago. I throw it into my bag, unable to leave it behind. Putting the bag on my shoulder, I pack up everything I need for writing and take it out to my car. Once I finish this task, I pull out the burner phone I have that I keep as a precautionary thing. I pull up my best friend Chelsea’s number. She and I don’t get to talk much because we have our own lives, but she’s the only one I know I can trust at this moment. Doesn’t matter if she’s associated with another charter of the Devil’s Riot due to her brother being a part of the Colorado club. I know she’ll let me come stay with her at her house.

Shooting her a text message, I tell her I’m coming out and to not say anything. That when I get there, I’ll explain.

Stepping inside the cabin one last time, I make sure I grab everything I need. I place the keys to the Mustang on the coffee table and walk out of the cabin, making sure to lock the doors behind me.

I slide in behind the wheel of my car and put the key in the ignition. Backing out of my spot, I do as I’d done leaving my parents’ house, this time feeling the pain setting in completely in a way it hadn’t done yet.

My mind and heart finally coming to grasps together that Blow officially accomplished one thing I didn’t think could happen in breaking me. He destroyed my soul in the process.

Blow

Five Weeks Later

“Did she make it there okay?” I ask, pinching the bridge of my nose as I wait for Grinder, the Prez of the Colorado charter, to answer me.

“Yeah, she made it to Chelsea’s, but gotta say, brother, what the fuck?” Grinder mutters.

I ignore his question. “Thanks, brother, let Sniper know how she’s doing from here on out. I just wanted to make sure she’s good,” I mutter.

It’s been five weeks since she left, and I’ve been nothing but a moody bastard. I know it and so do my brothers. Twice in one day, she’d been able to leave the clubhouse without being spotted. Then Keys got the notification of someone disarming the garage at Sniper’s.

Keys called me, and I’d headed straight for the cabin to catch her ass. Instead, we’d been too late in getting there. Now she’s in Colorado. It didn’t take long for Nerd to tail his sister. He’d informed us on where she was headed, and I’d called Grinder. Told him to keep his eye out.

“Yeah, Blow, but you should know whatever happened with Storm left her as nothing but a shell of who she was. Chelsea’s pissed and yelling at Driver and me.” Of course, Grinder’s cousin would have a fit, Driver’s her brother and pretty much raised her along side Grinder. She’s
